Guest Julius Quasar
I've been playing Star Fox Adventures, and discovered lots of stuff. For any of you stuck on how to figure something out, I'll put it in this thread, and any of you who have additional tips or corrections, feel free to post them here. There are 5 8 cheat tokens to collect and throw down the well in the heart of the maze (under the Warpstone), to achieve "Cheat Activated", see Mr. Krystal's post for details (Thanks Mr. Krystal) ============================================= To open up the staff meter upgrade on Cape Claw, you need to commandeer the Sharpclaw cannon...to do that, you need the staff's "portal key upgrade" (found in the Thorntail Queen's cave), don't forget to use the Freeze Upgrade on the staff to put out the fire behind the door. There are at least 3 staff meter upgrades, (sorry for the previous mistake) 1 in Thorntail hollow (above the shop keeper's store, in the cave you blast open with a bomb spore) 1 in Snowhorn Wastes (found by Tricky when he digs it up) where you meet that first Snowhorn, whom you feed... 1 in Cape Claw (Sharpclaw cannon will blast the rock) I forgot where the 4th one is.... ================================================================ The Staff Function Upgrades: Fire Weapon: Thorntail Hollow, in that chamber by the well Rocket Booster: The well, Thorntail Hollow Ice Weapon: Volcano Force point temple, upper room...get Tricky to light the burners in the room, to activate the overhead retracting and extending ledges, and that bottom ledge in the room (when you've gotten the upgrade). Smash Attack: Moon Mountain Pass, chamber, near the entrance of the volcano force point temple, next to the first creature hole Sharpclaw Disguise: Cloudrunner City, sneak past prison guard Sharpclaw, don't wake him, go to chamber, put fuel drum on the floor fan, step on the button to move it up, after you blast hole in ceiling, Slippy will send you the disguise, to get your staff back Portal Key: Successfully fend off the predators' attacks on the Queen Thorntail's eggs (use the smash attack) Super Smash Attack: Walled City, after you free the King Earthwalker, go across the river bridge outside his chamber ====================================================================== To help the Snowhorn recover at the Dark Ice Mines, the two Alpine roots are found: In the cave, near the beginning. Kill the bat in the cave, and have Trick use his "Flame" command to build a fire on the icy floor of the cave, the ice will melt, and you can go down the drain, and find the alpine root in the cave under the drain..use the block to get out again At the top of the ice ball ditch, climb into it, go to the top, and to the left of the iceball drop, and have tricky melt the ice covering the cave entrance. Have tricky "Find" (dig out) the Alpine Root =============================================================== I recommend buying up ALL the maps at the beginning (they're worth either 5 or 10 Scarabs a piece), since at the start you can only carry 10 scarabs max. anyways. 5 scarabs for a standard map 10 scarabs for a force point temple map =================================================================== How to get Scarab Bags: Small Bag: Feed the Snowhorn at Snowhorn Wastes Medium Bag: A gift from the Warpstone, after your first visit and return from the Krazoa Temple Large Bag: Thorntail Gift, after you save them from the Bloop attacks ===================================================================== The Sun and Moon Temples: Use Fox's Hi Definition Scanning Device (buy it from the shopkeeper) to look through the circular windows opened up when you complete the sun/moon block puzzles at each temple.... The sun temple will open when you look through the round hole at its top during the day The moon temple will open when you look through the round hole at its top during the night ========================================================================= How to get into Litefoot Village: Hit the trees with circles on them. The order is 1, 3, 2, with 1 being the one closest to Thorntail Hollow, 2 being in the middle, and 3 being nearest to Cape Claw. Finding the Litefoot babies -The Mound Babies can be found in the Krazoa Shrine entrance mound, all you gotta do is run at them with your staff out, it will scare them, and they'll run into the blueish cloud, and they'll automatically be transported back home... *Reward: The Rocket Boost Pad by the gate is activated -The Forest Babies can be found where one of the totem poles are, behind the wall where Tricky burned down the weeds for you, you need to use the rocket boost pad to get up to the totem pole and its forest area, the babies are there, run at them with your staff, they will run into the blueish cloud by the totem pole, and that cloud will transport them home *Reward: Supply Crates atop the Krazoa Mound The Tree Babies can be found in the trees outside the gate (With the entrances to Thorntail Village and Cape Claw), watch out for patrolling Sharpclaw soldiers in that area, hit the trunks of the trees, and eventually, a Litefoot baby falls out, and runs back to the village...get all 3 of them out of the trees... *Reward: The Litefoot Hut with the locked gate/door opens, giving you access to it and the fuel cells inside it. *NOTE: To claim the reward, go back to each Litefoot mother you visited, after sending home and finding her 3 babies
Mr. Krystal
There are actually 8 Cheat Tokens. 4 activate different options on the main menu (what the "Cheat Activated" means) and the other 4 give you a secret message. Here's a summary of their locations and what they do: ThornTail Store Middle of the room. Purpose: Credits Ice Mountain Hidden cave that can be opened with a bomb spore. Purpose: Sound Test Moon Mountain Pass Small cave next to the Krazoa Shrine Purpose: Saurian Subtitles Cape Claw Use canon to blow hole in wall just under the wooden ramps near the entrance to the area. Purpose: Sepia Tone Mode SnowHorn Wastes Follow the river to the end. Purpose: "The Well looks into your future... His Life-Force is strong. His existence is like a virus. I can hear is breath in every corner of space. He will not only use the evil heart of others, But can also corrupt those that are good." LightFood Village Save the babies in the Underground, then talk to their mother, who will activate a jet pad. Take it and follow the path to the woods. Purpose: "The Well looks into your future... A friend who has left, still cares about you. The bond of your friendship still remains. He will soon appear before you. And you should accept him with all your heart." Ocean Force Point Temple Right after the Electric Shock Pad Puzzle, to the right, there's a portal, open it. Purpose: "The Well looks into your future... There is sorrow ahead. A close friend does not have much time left. It will be hard to accept but you will grow." Volcano Force Point Temple Next to the door to the actual temple structure, go to the left along a large path next to the lava. Plant a Moonseed there and climb it to the well. Purpose: "The Well looks into your future... Fox...I can see you have matured into a strong leader. I am always there with you. Never give up...Trust your instincts...My son..." When I was playing through Adventures to figure out the OST, I paid attention to the little details and glitches. Here's what I found: The Little Things Some character shadows are are not blurred during cutscenes (a shading issue, perhaps), so the light position will often be shifted when there is a cut to a new camera. Pacing Sharpclaws in DarkIce Mines (Above Grounds) will occasionally trip and fall over. Glitches You can chase a Tricky Mushroom up a wall in Dark Ice Mines by having Tricky "find" them and following close behind. It will jump and the jump will take it up the wall. Tricky actually goes with you to Cloudrunner fortress, even though he says he won't. Apparently he likes that compartment on your Arwing. After unlocking Tricky's Father's GateKeeper powers, look into the bright light that was previously behind the seal. On the upper left-hand side, you'll see a polygon that is experiencing Z-fighting, which will make it flicker.

Guest Julius Quasar
A tiny question, who is this referring to? I was wondering that myself ...and I noticed those glitches, too, especially with Tricky, and the Cloudrunner fortress!
Guest Chiro-Chan
I think they're referring to Tricky. Also, for glitches, here's a few odd ones I've found: -You can get Tricky stuck inside the camera. I have absolutely NO clue how this happens, but it can get VERY annoying. Saving and quitting will fix that though, and I think there's another way to fix it, but I forgot how. -In Krazoa Palace, on the lift thing with the Krazoa's emblem on it that takes you to the floor with the wind lifts, if you use the first person view button, the camera doesn't follow up with the lift. -This has only happened to me once, but on Krazoa Palace when playing as Krystal in the outer section, one of the boxes somehow became indestructible and you can run through it. Granted, I was playing on the Wii, so it could have had something to do with that. -Maybe this is just a weird conspiracy of mine, but I think there's a small glitch with the ear twitch that Fox and Krystal do, and it flicks multiple times. Granted, they could have programmed it that way, but I have this odd feeling that it's a glitch...

The fire robot in the Krazoa temple isn't too hard to destroy, just blast it with your fire blaster repeatedly (that's how I got it) and use the fuel barrel to hold the button down to keep the door open. *UPDATE* Make sure you shoot a fire blast from your staff, through the colored flames, into the colored globes first, (like you did to open the Volcano Force Point Temple's locks on its front door) to disable the fire robot's shield, then hit it with a stream of fire blasts. Falcory
I think they're referring to Tricky. I don't think so... Tricky wasn't running out of time. (Was he? ) He also wasn't that close of a friend with Fox yet. What sorrow? All they did was say goodbye. BTW Tricky coming with Fox to Cloudrunner fortress is NOT a glitch. Guest Chiro-Chan
I don't think Assault was even PLANNED when they wrote that. What they meant by 'running out of time' was your time with Tricky, as you would leave him with his father soon, and actually, I think that they were trying to imply that they had, in fact, became good friends, considering he was the only one who tagged along to help you, and was a huge help. The 'sorrow' was the goodbye. In fact, I was actually sad that I had to leave him behind. Tricky was such a fun character. =(

My second theory is that it MAY be talking about Krystal.

Star Fox Runner
I don't think it was talking about Krystal, she wouldn't be an old friend seeing how the only time Fox met her was when he was eying her up in the crystal. :D

Hmmm... I'm still trying to remember where the fourth staff energy meter upgrade location is... *UPDATE* OOPS! Sorry, I made a mistake, there are only 3 Staff Energy Meter Ugpgrade/Expansion Underground Locations!

Guest Julius Quasar
Outside the Snowhorn Gatekeeper's Prison (Garunda Te), there is a cave to the far left of the entrance, let Tricky dig it out for you, there are fuel cells, and more hidden there. You can buy Tricky's Ball from the Thorntail Store, and play "Fetch" with Tricky. After 6 or 7 throw and return rounds of fetch you play with Tricky, he'll change colors, depending on what region you're in. (i.e., he turns purple and green on the beach of Cape Caw when you play "Fetch" with him there, and blue and brown when you play Fetch with him on the Moon Mountain Pass...) If you don't wanna get sucked into Andross' mouth in the final battle, just keep barrel rolling.

In Litefoot Village, the 3 wooden carving blocks can be found: -By the pit and spin totem pole, where you battle Musclefoot in the Litefoot Tribe's "Strength" challenge, have Tricky dig it up for you. -On the south corner shore, below the Village Gate, near the totem pole up on the high stone platform, have Tricky dig it up -Behind the overgrowth, next to the rocket boost pad that takes you into the forest (where you find one of the Litefoot mothers' babies), have Tricky dig it out for you... you need these carvings to raise the jump pads out of the water. If you're just going to posts tips or a walkthrough, there's a site for that called GameFAQs. It would be more useful to post glitches, tips that people wouldn't know about just playing the game, and small things someone wouldn't otherwise notice. Oh, okay...I didn't know about GameFAQs, sorry. As for a glitch, How the heck does Tricky "climb up" and meet/beat you at the top of where Fox has to climb up in some areas/levels? i.e. in the Volcano Force Point Temple, where you gotta climb the wall to get up to the VPF Gates, and when you climb to the top, Tricky is already there, waiting for you...
