Guest Para Astaroth
But, hey, you have to give the man SOME credit. It was a really good assumption, although it isn't canon lol
Guest Mr. Mario
I think the best answer would be in Nintendo's Star Fox Adventures prequal.Who were Krystal's parents?Where did her staff come from?Who is REALLY behind the destruction of Cerinia?(Couldn't be Andross or Scales)Did we really forget Sabre? Or was he killed?
Kursed
considering scales is a saurian I doubt it was him.

Meaning that it is unlikely he would be able to make it to the Krazoa Palace in time to be ready for her. And they made a point not to show us who exactly it was she was talking about, trusting us to assume it was Scales and not have the slightest idea it was Andross, and if it was merely Scales' body doing it, I am sure the cutscene would of showed that. And Andross needed magic to reform himself, and judging by Krystal and her staff, I imagine Cerinia is magical, and was a prime target for him, but likely didn't have the full amount required to restore him, so he had to venture to Sauria. What is a television to a Person who lived so far back that they don't even know what a radio is I think the staff is technology yet the author is simply not in a culture with such technology is present. Also my view on it is that Andross view Cerinia as a threat to his empire more than anything with thier so called "magic" Thus Cerinia may have been destroyed during starfox 64 or before. Vy'drach
Doesn't Adventures take place about 8 years after 64 though? That would make Krystal 11 at the time of Cerinia's destruction if it happened during 64.And I kind of have the same philosophy on magic that you do, though mine extends to real life. I think it's just a form of energy, like electricity, that we've forgotten how to harness after several years and events like the Salem witch trials. Scott7
I really think it came from cerinia, the markings on the staff are very similar to Krystal's tribal like armor and tattoo's. And its likely that staff just adapted to the magic energy of the planet, its not like the staff has preset abilities. the Krazoa probably stored different types of energy at certain points of the planet to keep it balanced. I think the magic caves were control point's for the krazoa to make modifications to the flow of energy if necessary. The cerinians had some relation to energy control so it only makes sense that the staff could channel that kind of power as well to implement it into its own abilities, like an add-on to a computer program. Guest Mr. Mario
Of course it came from Cerinia. Lets think about this for a moment...Remember how Link got his sword? You would have to play OoT to find out.So maybe Krystal should get her own game and tell about her personal life (Like Samus would in Metroid other M).Maybe Krystal transformed to a vixen because she probably got the staff when she was a little cat but the clothing is un-explainable... I personally think that it may have to do with some form of old yet powerful magic that existed on their planet's tribes for centuries; especially since I believe that the large gem in the staff head is some kind of power source that is capable of being modified, -or- has the ability to adapt to other sources of power like the magic from Sauria that the spellstones contained. it's pretty much a mystery though, since no detail about the weapon has been revealed. CrypticQuery
Krystal's staff came from a tree. Naa, just kidding. I didn't really wonder about it before, she had it, and that was that . Although I doubt it came from Sauria.
Dublinthefox
I think It came from Cerinia. This becomes a little bit more clear in the fanfiction I'm writing called "A Cerinian's Legacy". I write that Krystal was royalty (I'm guessing because of her clothing) and the staff was the royal family heirloom. After the distruction of her race the only thing that wasn't damaged was the temple holding the staff. After that she takes it and leaves. I'm not entirely done with it yet. Kid_Cortet
Cerinianbut here is my thingI read (and understand) the whole bit in this topic on how the staff took on powers from Sauriacould it be possible that the two planets were somehow connected, kinda bi-nary. And being in such close proximity, the people of Cerinian may have hid some things on Sauria. Plus Krystal could speak Saurian pretty much as soon as she got there, something i doubt even a telepath could do easily. lol...
