no... I made a couple of VIxens from a roleplay reece and I did and well I never made a profile for them that i remember.

Chapter 15:

Civilised Discussion?

Reece walked into his quarters, dodging the various items he had scattered across the floor during his search, he approached his drawer where he kept his dangerous or special items. He pressed his thumb on the glowing blue strip; the scanner recognised his fur and his finger print, it deactivated the locks on the drawer. Reece knelt down and opened the drawer, inside were various pieces of items from his past including his shattered sunglasses. He picked up three of his four blasters that he kept inside the draw just in case of emergencies. He then shut the drawer, the locks activating as it sensed the drawer close. Reece pulled open a drawer; he pulled out a black, long sleeved shirt and some black pants which he quickly changed into. He walked over to his nightstand, he picked up gauntlet, he sighed and placed it onto his wrist, upon sensing his body heat the gauntlet snapped shut around his wrist. He walked to the door of his quarters,

‘Why does he want me there?’ he thought, ‘It’s not like I have annoyed anyone... well anyone powerful... anyone powerful that is alive’ he stood in his doorway, he turned his head and looked back at his quarters, he sighed knowing that this may be the last time he sees this room. Although he didn’t want to admit it he was in fear for his life.

Kadie was in the hanger with Krystal, the two were starting to become good friends. Kadie was placing the fuel cells inside of Reece’s Arwing’s engine under the guidance of Krystal. Kadie was tightening the screws of the new fuel cells she placed inside,

“Why do you think that old man wants to see Reece?” Kadie asked,

“I couldn’t tell you,” Krystal replied, she leaned against the wall of the hanger, “all I can think of is that he wants revenge for Reece’s interference in their operations all those years ago during the Human Crisis.” Kadie stood up, and took a breath, re-fuelling was surprisingly hard work,

“Would it have anything to do with him formerly being human?” Kadie asked, Krystal raised an eyebrow,

“Don’t be silly, Reece is a vulpine.” She lied knowing that Reece likes to keep his past hidden,

“I know all about it, he told me.”

“He did?”

“Yeah, I guess he trusts me.” Kadie suggested, Krystal smirked, she could read Kadie like a book,

“That might play a part but I don’t know.” The two sliding doors of the hanger opened, Reece walked in and walked down the stairs to his ship,

“We have to go... like now.” He told Kadie knowing they had two minutes before they had to leave, Kadie nodded, Reece opened his cockpit window, it slowly lifted up, Reece jumped into the front seat, Kadie jumped into the seat behind Reece. Reece closed the cockpit window, Krystal tapped on the window, Reece and Kadie looked at her,

“Stay safe.” She told them, Reece nodded and sighed quietly before he launched from the cockpit. Krystal watched as they launched into the depths of space, Krystal pressed a button on her headset,

“They have gone.”

“Okay,” Fox replied, “I’m telling Marcus to start the countdown. We strike in an hour and a half.”

“Gotcha.”

Reece let the ship’s auto pilot do the light speed piloting to the base, he had been quiet for the whole trip, it started to make Kadie get a little worried,

“Reece?” she called, Reece tilted his head slightly, “are you okay?” he nodded, “then say something.”

“I’m fine, okay?” he snapped, Kadie was shocked, Reece hadn’t spoken to her like that before, Reece noticed her shock, Reece sighed,

“I’m sorry.” He apologised, “I’m... I’m... just... I’m just scared.” He told her,

“About what?” she asked,

“About this whole load of crap that we have to do, this guy has nuclear warheads so and he wants us there alone so that means he has something planned for us.” Kadie placed a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to calm him,

“We don’t even know what he wants.”

“That’s what worries me.”

The remaining members onboard the Great Fox sat on the bridge, Akasha sat on the long couch scratching her arm, she was nervous about being in her first mission briefing. Marcus stood in front of the group, Fox felt a little off being told what to do by his son but he was going to listen and obey as if it were Peppy or his own Dad. Marcus took a breath,

“About thirty minutes ago we were contacted by a human who claims to have nuclear warheads capable of tearing planets apart.”

“He’s full of...” Falco added,

“Anyway...” Marcus interrupted, “even if he is pulling our leg we cannot take that chance, exactly half an hour from when Reece and Kadie land in the base that is orbiting Solar.”

“How do we attack?” Fox asked,

“Well first we clear the airspace of all, if any, enemy fighters, we then storm the base and take out any hostiles in the area.” Everyone nodded, “Right, well go get ready, we leave as soon as we are warped through.

Reece took control of his Arwing; the base was now within landing distance.

“Oh my god.” Reece gasped, “That is one huge base.” the base was at least three times as big as the Great Fox,

“He wasn’t kidding about those nuclear missiles.” Kadie observed as she pointed the heads of the warheads poking out from the silo. Reece bit his bottom lip; his nerves were starting to get to him.

“Is that the warp gate?” Reece asked pointing at the scattered metal that once formed the Solar warp gate. The two pulled into the hanger of the massive base, Reece and Kadie slowly emerged from the cockpit from the Arwing, things were quiet... too quiet. Reece held two blasters in both hands, Kadie held a blaster in her belt. Reece looked around for anything of danger, he saw nothing and it worried him,

“I don’t like this.” He told Kadie, Kadie gave him a firm look, Reece nodded and tried to calm himself. Reece and Kadie opened the doors of the hanger and entered the dimly lit hallway; Reece’s eyes darted from one point to another scanning for threats. They slowly walked forward,

“There they are!” a voice yelled, Reece swore, he turned around and quickly fired a few shots at random, two of the shots hit two humans wear black cybernetic armour in the leg, the green glowing spots on their helmets freaked Reece out, Kadie turned around and opened fire herself, she managed to get a guard in the shoulder. Two guards approached Reece and Kadie, they pulled out rifles, they took aim at their necks, they fired, hitting Reece and Kadie in the veins on their neck, Reece jumped in shock, he saw the dart hanging from his neck, all of a sudden his vision went blurry and started to fall, he was unconscious  before he hit the ground. Kadie still stood fighting; it took another two darts to her neck to send her into unconsciousness.

The remaining members of Star Fox sat waiting in their Arwings in the hanger; they awaited for ROB to teleport them to the Solar warp gate,

“Countdown completed, prepare for warp.” ROB announced,

“This is it.” Marcus told the group, Akasha sat in the back seat of Krystal’s Cloud Runner since there was not enough Arwings for her, she scratched her shoulder again, the nerves of her first mission were getting to her, her trusty steel claws sat in their case on her lap.

“Error... error.” ROB announced, Fox raised an eyebrow,

“What’s up ROB?” Fox asked,

“Destination’s warp gate dismantled, manual transportation required.” It announced, Marcus swore,

“ROB set course to Solar, full speed.” He ordered frustratingly, his plan was going to take a little while longer then he had planned.

Kadie slowly opened her eyes; she rubbed her eyes to get her focus back. She noticed that she was sleeping on an empty potato sack, there was a small wooden roof above her and wood walls around her,

“Huh?” she mumbled knowing that she was in a fully metal base, she crawled out of the wood box, she inspected the thing she just exited,

“Oh someone thinks they are funny.” She grumbled angrily upon discovering she was inside of a doghouse, she noticed an orange bowl at her feet, she emptied the water that was inside of it, she noticed some writing on it, she growled angrily as she read the word ‘Bitch’ written on it. Kadie removed a bobby pin from her hair; she removed the plastic from the sharp points of the bobby pin, she poked her finger tip with the bobby pin,

“Ouch!” she yelped as a small amount of blood bled from the prick. Kadie picked up the bowl again; she managed to drive the bobby pin through the rim of the bowl. She looked down the hall, an unarmoured guard sat on a chair,

“Hey!” she called, “Guard!” The guard looked up, “Since I am just a dumb vixen can you please tell me what this thing is in my cell?” The guard grunted and made his way to her cell, he placed his hand on the scanner, opening the cell door, he entered the cell, Kadie swung the booby pin into his shoulder joint, the guard yelled in pain, Kadie quickly buckled him, he fell to his knees, Kadie quickly grabbed his head and begun slamming it against the metal bars until he was knocked out. Kadie quickly ran out of the room, she picked up the assault rifle the guard had leaning against the wall, she also took the armour he had hanging up, she managed to fit into the rather large suit without it falling off of her. She loaded the rifle and walked towards the exit of the cell block.

Reece’s eye slowly opened, he observed his surroundings he could only make out a long table, he saw a female guard standing against the wall next to him, he slowly opened his other eye, he groaned as his groggy head felt too heavy to lift,

“Sir, he is awake” the female guard announced, he slowly moved his head as he saw a blurry figure looking at solar,

“Magnificent isn’t it Reece?” he asked,

“Huh?” Reece mumbled,

“The colours of a burning ball.” Reece knew he could say something dirty right now but decided against it, “I aim to make all planets in this god forsaken galaxy just like this sun.”

“Why?”

“Because our mission that you kind of screwed with all those years ago is still in operation.”

“What?” Reece asked in confusion, the old man chuckled, he sat down on the chair opposite of him,

“Awww, haven’t you figured it out yet?” he asked, Reece remained silent “When you took out that fool Andross, it just hindered our plan.”

“Yeah right.”

“Guess who gave the Aparoid virus to Andrew?” he yelled, Reece frowned, “Me! Guess who attacked you on Laki? Me! Guess who ordered the attack on the Cornerian army? Me! Guess who sent you to that screwed up planet? Me! Guess who had you imprisoned with those other mutts? Me! And guess why I did all of this? To distract you from this base being constructed and our final domination of this pathetic galaxy.”

“Um how about you go into that room, spank your fat ass and go crying to your Mum before I get out of this chair and kick your ass!” Reece threatened,

“Feisty, just like your mother.” He replied with a smirk,

“Don’t you ever talk about my Mum!” Reece yelled in anger,

“We have every right to!” the female guard yelled,

“Yeah, why?” he demanded in anger, the old human chuckled,

“We know something that you don’t.” He told Reece, Reece frowned,

“What?” he hissed,

“Well, you see... the three of us... we’re family.”

A/N: Remember that ‘vision’ Reece had back in chapter six, well I didn’t put it there just to waste space. Anyways, two or maybe three chapters to go, maybe I’ll write one more ending it there, I dunno. Anyways I’ll shut up now.

Chapter 16:

Hatred

Reece shook his head, the old man and his guard (Reece considered her to be something else to him) were just pulling his leg, there was no possible way they could be family.

“Whatever you have injected yourself with must have made you delusional,” Reece told the old human, “you see, I am not a douche like you two, nor am I criminally insane.” The old man looked at the female guard,

“Well I think we make him the offer now,” he suggested to his ‘guard’, “what do you think?” the female guard nodded,

“I don’t see there being any other point of having him here since he just wants to abuse us.” She replied, the old man nodded, he sat down on the chair at the teak table. He reached under the desk, Reece expected a gun to be drawn, instead the old man drew a metal briefcase, it provided some relief to Reece but not much knowing there could be a gun inside. The old man unclipped the locks of the briefcase, the briefcase swung open; a small metal door opened which caused a metal platform to be raised. Reece saw three syringes all filled with different coloured liquids, one by itself and two placed almost exactly next to each other. The old man coughed,

“Allow me to explain what these do.” He suggested, Reece remained silent, he slowly started to rise from the chair, the female guard must have noticed his attempt, she pressed a button on the table, almost instantly metal bars swung out from inside the chair and held Reece’s neck, biceps, wrists, stomach and legs in place,

“Yeah, I’m kind of don’t like this style of foreplay,” Reece stated, “and especially not with you two.” He shuddered at the end of that sentence, the old man frowned,

“You are lucky that I am kind of heart...” He stated,

“Bullsh...” Reece coughed,

“AND I am going to ignore that last comment and continue with my offer.” The old man interrupted, “We are all Brydens here...”

“Ha! My surname is Kilza, idiot.” Reece yelled,

“That’s your mother’s maiden name, she left that surname on that ring she left with you, it was also on the note she left with you at the orphanage...”

“I like it; it has a better ring to it then what you have.”

“Shut up and let me talk!” The old man yelled, Reece looked up at the female guard,

“Is it that time of the month or is it just a bit cranky?” he asked her, the guard punched Reece in the side of the muzzle, he raised an eyebrow and looked back up at her, “Is that the case for you as well?” he asked receiving another punch. The old man bared his teeth,

“I am losing my patience with you!” he told Reece,

“Finally, does that mean I can go?” Reece asked, the old man grabbed Reece’s throat, choking him,

“This injection,” he pointed to the syringe on its own, “will transform you back into you human state, but for that to happen you must join me and destroy this hell hole of a galaxy.” He told Reece, Reece gasped for air,

“What if I refuse?” Reece managed to choke out, the old man bared his teeth and released his grasp on Reece, Reece desperately gasped for air, coughing as he did,

“This injection contains a heart stopping virus, once injected it will kill you within the minute.” Reece’s eyes widened, “And this syringe below it will postpone the death it causes for half an hour. You have a choice to make now Reece. Join us and you will be one of the most powerful people on Earth and you will be just what you are, a human. If you refuse my offer, then you get the virus.”

“So either way ou will launch those nuc’s?” Reece asked, the old man laughed,

“You idiot, they were launched five minutes ago, just before you woke up.” Reece’s heart skipped a beat,

“I wasn’t going to join you regardless of if you had fired them or not.” Reece stated, the old man shook his head,

“Pity, you would have made an excellent leader.” He told Reece. The female guard reached to the syringe containing the heart stopping virus, everything seemed to go into slow motion for Reece as she forced the needle into his arm and he saw the blue liquid enter his blood stream, everything started to blur, Reece got light headed, he managed to see the female guard quickly inject the other syringe, injecting the post pone agent. Everything quickly flashed white and Reece returned to the normal speed. The old man frowned,

“I have given you half an hour to live, just so you can watch as your precious galaxy gets torn apart.” The old man walked up to the nuclear warhead control panel near the window facing solar. The window lit up with CCTV videos of the targeted planets, Corneria, Venom, Sauria, Fortuna and MacBeth were all the targets, these planets only have twenty nine minutes until impact. The old man and the guard walked towards the door leading to the hallway as they exited an electrical field blocked the doorway, shocking anyone that touches it,

“I’d love to stay and chat but I have a space cruiser to catch.” The old man told Reece as he walked down the hall laughing. Reece struggled trying to escape the metal that held him tight but he simply could not. He knew that he was screwed.

The Star Fox crew still sat in their own Arwings (with the exception of Akasha) as ROB navigated his their way at light speed through Lylat. The crew noticed the ship sowed down dramatically,

“ROB?” Marcus asked, “What is going on?”

“Dangerous  threat detected,” it announced, “Light Speed travel is not advised.”

“What is the threat?” Jessica asked,

“Level 7 Nuclear Missile.” Everyone was silent, they now knew that the human was not lying,

“We have to take it out before it hits its target.” Marcus told the group,

“If we blow it up we are dead!” Jason snapped,

“We need to detonate it from its control panel.” Fox added,

“ROB continue trave to programmed destination.” Krystal told it,

“Roger.” It replied, the ship resumed its former speed, the squad now knew it was only a short amount of time before they hit.

Kadie poked her head around the corner of a wall checking for enemies, none were in her sight, she quickly walked to the end of the hall, her whole body was disguised by the black cybernetic armour that she had stolen from the guard that was now unconscious in ‘her’ doghouse. Kadie opened the doors which lead to the next corridor. She was reading weak brain signals that she recognised as Reece’s, they changed in some way, but she was not sure how since he was too far away to get an accurate reading. Kadie approached a locked door, she noticed some sort of scanner on the door’s frame. Kadie put her finger on it, nothing happened. Kadie raised an eyebrow, unsure of how to open it. Kadie studied the scanner, she noticed that there was a resemblance with the green glow on her helmet and the scanner; she placed her head on the small scanner. A quiet beep was heard and the door unlocked and lifted, allowing Kadie entrance into a rather large, dusty room.

Reece continued to squirm, attempting to free himself unsuccessfully. He swore desperately as a strong mix of fear and sadness overwhelmed him, he was fearful for the galaxy and his life and was also sad he could not do anything about either situation. Reece felt a rather long sturdy item in his sleeve; he remembered sliding in a metal ruler before he left as he knew it was trap they were sent to. Reece used all of his strength to tilt the large chair forward, it was extremely heavy. He quickly shook his arm to release the ruler from the small slit he had made. He felt it slide down the fur of his arm, as it reached his hand he quickly grabbed it and placed the chair on the ground. Reece quickly and desperately started to use the ruler to reach the release button on the table, despite all his efforts he was still too far away. He knew he had to move the chair forward to reach it... and that was no easy task. He moved his head to look at his gauntlet; he had 15 minutes until impact and death.

Kadie walked slowly into the large room, not knowing was inside of it made it slightly creepier. Kadie felt the presence of two figures entering the room, she looked over at the source or the presence, she noticed two humans, the old guy from the video message and there was a female with him. Kadie took aim at the old man and fired, the female must have seen her aiming, the female quickly activated a barrier which protected the two of them. The lady chuckled,

“Looks like the puppy wants to play.” She stated, “You go, I’ll deal with her, father.” The old man nodded and ran out the door to another room. The human aimed her rifle at Kadie,

“You know,” she stated, “I say we end this in hand to hand combat, agree?” Kadie nodded,

“Yep.”  She replied, they both dropped their weapons at the same time, the two walked up to each other, the human was the first to strike, she swung her fist at Kadie’s chest, Kadie dodged the move and responded with an elbow to the nose of the human, the human screamed and fell her knees as blood rushed from her broken nose. Kadie ran up to kick her in the head to finish her off, as she swung her foot the human caught it, she flipped Kadie onto her back still holding onto her foot. The human rolled Kadie onto her belly, the human sat on Kadie’s thighs and begun aggressively twisting Kadie’s ankle in an attempt to snap the ligaments in it, Kadie yelped in pain as the pressure on her ankle increase, Kadie reached into her pocket and pulled out the blood stained bobby pin she used earlier, she quickly swung the pin into the butt of the human, she jumped in shock and yelped in pain, she released her grasp on Kadie’s ankle, Kadie made the most of this opportunity, she slide out from beneath the human causing her to fall onto her butt, Kadie quickly wrapped her arm around the throat of the human and strangled, the human desperately fought for air but failed, Kadie held the old until she could not sense any brain patterns coming from her. Once she was sure that the human was dead she released the hold, the lifeless body of the human fell limply to the floor, Kadie got up onto her feet, limping on the foot she had aggressively attacked. Kadie tuned into Reece’s brain patterns and continued her way to him.

Reece squirmed and squirmed as he tried to reach to table, he looked at his gauntlet quickly, he had two and a half minutes remaining, he swore continuously as he reached for the button. He made one last attempt to reach, he stretched all the muscles he could reaching for the button, he roared as he made one final push to press it, he succeeded, the metal that was holding him slid back into the chair, Reece looked at his gauntlet, as he did he collapsed to the cold metal floor, Reece saw the control panel and he dragged his body like made to get to it. Kadie rushed to the doorway of the room where Reece was but she couldn’t get in due to the electrical field, she read Reece’s mind and knew about the virus. Reece dragged himself to the control panel, he grabbed onto the railing of the panel and pulled himself up, he quickly read over the buttons. Kadie desperately looked for a way into the room, but the only way in was through was through the doorway, Kadie knew that the only way to get in was to overload the force field. Kadie quickly took off her helmet, knowing about the amount of energy inside of it, Kadie smashed it onto the force field keypad, there were zaps of electricity flying before the force field disappeared. Reece was breathing heavily and sweating badly as the virus took effect, Reece quickly swatted the big blue abort button, he watched the various screens which were cameras following the missiles, as the missiles exploded one by one, causing no harm to no one. Reece smiled at what he had accomplished and chuckled a little before he collapsed onto the ground. Kadie reached Reece just a few seconds after he fell, she quickly begun looking into his eyes and calling his name. Reece stared blankly back at her, her calls grew softer even though she was screaming his, and his vision of her face and the background slowly faded to white.

Chapter 17:

Broken Steel

ROB navigated the Great Fox containing the Star Fox team through the empty space of the Lylat System in an aim to destroy the nuclear missiles before they reached their targets, they were unaware that their goal was completed and the price that was paid to do so. ROB slowed the Great Fox down to a stop, much to Marcus’s frustration,

“What is it now ROB?” he demanded,

“Hostile threats detected,” it announced, “standard procedures were executed.”

“ROB what exactly is the threat?” Jason asked,

“Scan completed, threat is recognised as a Venomian Battle Cruiser, pilot is marked as hostile.”

“Who would that be?” Jessica asked,

“Iden...” ROB was cut off,

“You animals really need to upgrade your firewalls,” a familiar voice stated, “it was like hacking a forum, way too simple.”

“Who is this?” Fox demanded, the voice chuckled,

“Don’t you remember me?” it asked, “We spoke only recently.”

“Oh it is the old guy with the hair problem,” Falco stated, “you know the guy who we could see our reflections on his head?”

“That is funny parrot.” The old man chuckled,

“What did you just say?” Falco demanded,

“I want to see if the lot of you are really as good as they say,” The old human challenged, “I want all of you to come out and face me.”

“Well we will destroy those missiles of yours first then we will come back, does that sound good?” Krystal offered the old man but was going to do what they wanted either way,

“Well if you think you can get there in time I will allow two of you to go to my base, but if any more of you go then I will cause this... ‘ship’... of yours to self destruct seeing as I am in control.”

“He is able to do that.” Jessica admitted. The team looked at each other in their Arwings,

“Who wants to go?” Falco asked “Cause personally I wanna kick this guy’s ass.”

“Fox and I will go.” Krystal announced, “We have the most on foot experience and speed is needed here.” The rest of the group agreed with the decision. Fox and Krystal (With Akasha who hid herself under a blanket) activated the engines on their Arwings, they pushed the thrusters forward, sending their Arwings outside of the hanger, they activated the boosters and sped towards the co-ordinates of the base.

The remaining members of Star Fox flew out of the hanger after receiving the okay from the old human. They grouped up next to each other to observe the enemy they were about to engage. The old human was either mad or really brave to challenge Star Fox to a battle when all he was flying was a triple plasma turret equipped space cruiser with a light shield.

“You have one chance to surrender.” Marcus told the old man,

“I’ll pass on that offer thank you.” The old man replied,

“Why are you doing this?” Jessica asked,

“I want to see this Galaxy burn in nuclear flames. Is that too much to ask?”

“Let’s do this.” Falco growled,

“Oh, before I forget, who likes presents?” the old human asked, this confused the team,

“What?” Jason asked,

“Well I brought you some presents, one hundred and forty seven presets to be exact.” As the old man announced his ‘surprise’ various battle crafts faded into visibility, Marcus yelled for them to scramble as the appeared, they all scattered into various directions, narrowly avoiding some devastating beams from the more powerful cruisers. Marcus and Falco flew together while Jason and Jessica flew side by side. Marcus and Falco flew up to the speedier crafts while Jason and Jessica assaulted the slower but more powerful crafts.

“I bet I can scratch more of these bogies than you Marcus.” Falco boasted,

“We’ll see.” Marcus replied. Marcus flew in between the group of fighters, the fighters turned their attention to Marcus, they boosted towards him, Marcus smirked and activated his own boosters, his pursuers boosted even more to keep up with him, Marcus quickly activated the brakes, the fighters did not expect this, they flew straight past Marcus, Marcus pressed down on the button on his flight stick, sending a Nova Bomb into the craft in the middle of the group, the red bomb landed right in the back engine of one of the fighters, the Nova Bomb exploded causing all of Marcus’s attackers to be blown to pieces,

“Score to me.” Marcus boasted to Falco. The old human groaned,

“Haven’t you killed them yet? They’re animals, I know that, you know that, so just do it!” he demanded. Jessica and Jason decide to toy with their targets. An alert appeared on their cockpit windows alerting them that they had a lock on their ship, they knew this is when they would put their plan into action. The pair boosted into the group of heavy fighters, just as they had expected a few fired their lock on plasma beams, the beams tore through their allied ships, eliminating a majority of the heavy fighters, Jason and Jessica laughed. The old human sighed,

“Note to self, need to order more pilots... SMART ones this time!” Jason and Jessica continued to pick off the remaining fighters. Marcus and Falco approached the old human,

“Give it up, it’s over.” Marcus told the old human,

“Over? Why my dear delusional vulpine... it hasn’t even begun.” He hissed, the cannons on the Great Fox begun to charge,

“The only escape from here is you dead in a body bag!” Falco snapped,

“Escape? I don’t want to escape, seeing you animals squirm brings a smile to my face. Now squirm at this!” he yelled as the dual canons from the Great Fox fired, Falco’s eyes widened at the sight of the beam of yellow approaching his ship, knowing he would not be able to escape Falco desperately activated the eject function, pressurised gas pushed the cockpit of Falco’s Arwing fifty feet into space, just in time as the beams hit his ship just as he had ejected, the old human got a lock onto Falco’s cockpit with his ship. Marcus saw this and panicked, he boosted his ship in front of the old human’s ship just as he fired, Marcus rolled, reflecting the plasma shots, the shots pierced the cockpit widow, the space air rushed into to the old human’s cockpit, he grasped at his throat, he chocked, he fell onto the floor and started to crawl to the emergency airlock,

“Not today.” Marcus told the old man, he pulled a u-turn and fired a Nova bomb inside of the cockpit of the old human’s ship, it exploded, obliterating everything of the ship.

Jason and Jessica landed their ships in the hanger and waited for Marcus to tow Falco into the hanger,

“I guess this means I win the bet?” Marcus asked Falco,

“Shut your muzzle before I shut it for you!” Falco threatened, Marcus snickered. Marcus landed his Arwing on the metal floor of the Great Fox’s hanger, Falco quickly exited his damaged cockpit, Marcus exited his Arwing,

“You know if you were wearing your glasses, senior citizen, you would have seen that coming.” Marcus teased,

“I swear to god!” Falco growled causing Marcus to snicker again. Marcus heard a beeping coming from his head set. He activated the communication channel,

“This is Marcus.” He announced,

“Yeah um Marcus this is Dad...” Fox told Marcus, “Good news and... bad... news.”

“What?” Marcus asked,

“The good news is that those missiles won’t be hurting anyone thanks to Reece and the new girl.”

“And the bad news?” Fox was silent for a moment,

“Uhm... er... Reece is... dead.”

Chapter 18:

Shards of Glass

Fox, Krystal, Kadie and Akasha stood in the missile control room, Kadie continued performing CPR on the lifeless body of Reece in the hope that if she pumped oxygen and blood through his body, then there may be that chance he could be revived, Fox stood away from the group telling Marcus what has happened, Krystal stood with Kadie trying to understand what they did to Reece. Akasha observed the room, scratching at her shoulder. She saw the control panel where Reece’s body rested, the chair what Reece was trapped on. Akasha’s eyes were drawn to the shiny metal of the closed briefcase on the table in front of her. Akasha walked up to the brief case and studied it, looking for the locks so she could open it. The various yelling and quiet cursing by Kadie made Akasha even more eager to help. Akasha saw a small, almost invisible button underneath the handle of the briefcase. Akasha got curious so she pressed the button in. Akasha jumped in fright as the briefcase swung open fast and hit the metal table with a loud thud, no one seemed to notice the bang, they were too focused on Reece’s body. Akasha turned the briefcase so the inside contents could be seen, she saw two empty syringes resting inside, one had two drops blue liquid left in it, the other had a few more drops of red liquid inside of it. Akasha picked them up,

“Hey Krystal,” she called, “have a look at this.” Krystal slowly walked over to Akasha, she saw the syringes in her hand and her eyes widened,

“How long have you had these?” Krystal demanded,

“I only just found these.” Akasha replied, Krystal snatched the syringes from Akasha, she studied the contents,

“Oh these guys are not very creative are they?” Krystal asked, Akasha and Fox raised an eyebrow, not understanding the point she was trying to make, “They injected him with a virus that makes his heart stop, fortunately for him we know a cure to this.” Krystal walked over to Reece and jabbed the needle of the syringe into his neck, she injected the last of the post pone agent into his neck,

“We need to get him to the Great Fox as fast as we can!” Krystal told the group, the rest of the group nodded.

Reece slowly opened his eyes, he saw a blue sky with fluffy white clouds, the looked good enough to eat. Reece sat up he saw he was in a green field, lots of blooming flowers, a small river that lead to a small waterfall, the local wildlife didn’t seem to be startled by his sudden awakening or appeared to see him as a threat. The quite sound of the birds chirping made the place really relaxing, Reece lay back down on his back, he placed his arms behind his head to cushion his head,

“This isn’t so bad.” He told himself.

Back in reality Reece was placed on his bed, his arm was attached to a machine designed to take out blood, purify it and put it back into the body, a machine was also attached to his heart to keep it beating whilst his blood was being purified,

“Well he is breathing again,” Kadie stated, “is that a good sign?”

“His heart will start again, whether or not he wakes up is a different story though.” Krystal replied,

“So he may not wake up, that’s what you are saying?” Akasha asked,

“Yeah pretty much.” Fox answered, the room was silent,

“Come on, we need to get some food into us.” Krystal told the group,

“I’ll stay here for a bit.” Kadie replied, Krystal nodded, the other people in the room left silently.

Kadie stood up from the chair she sat on an hour later; she needed to stretch her legs, she walked around the room repetitively. Kadie stood beside the bed; something caught her attention at the corner of her eye, she bent down and picked up the object, she discovered it was a small writing pad that Reece used as a journal. Kadie randomly read some pages,

“I don’t know why I bother getting out of bed in the mornings, I mean I got nothing to live for… No one to look forward to seeing, no one to look after, nothing to look forward too. I guess I value life too much.”

Kadie flipped to another random page,

“Story Idea: A toad finds a bracelet that corrupts any one else who wears it, to destroy it they must throw it into Solar, the first story could be called… the friendship of the bracelet, the second can be… a couple of towers, while the last can be… Hey look! The King’s back! So original, but why does it feel familiar in a way?”

“Damn it! I get pressured into things so easily! Marcus came over today asking me to join his new team, I declined. He made me feel bad and stupid for saying no, and guilt drove me to accepting his offer. He knew that would work on me, he has done that many times before… cheeky bastard…”

Kadie turned to the more recent entries of the journal,

“Something was really screwed up today. I am in these caves and all of a sudden I start having these crazy visions that really spooked me, to make it all worse I got trapped in a room with a massive spider. Not that it matters now I am here safe and sound.”

“Just got back from some crappy prison I was thrown in, it turned out it was being run by Emma… that two timing bitch got what she deserved. It wasn’t all bad though, I met these girls in the prison, a cat named Akasha (who scared the hell out of me in that whole shower incident) and a vixen named Kadie, she seemed to take a strong liking to me, well she asked me if I wanted to be a couple with her, I agreed. So I guess that makes us BF and GF?”

Kadie read the last entry in the journal,

“Argh! So bored! I’m going to give this whole poetry thing a try:”

There were many scribbled out lines of words that were now unreadable, the last few lines read:

“If I could have just one wish,

I would wish to wake up everyday

to the sound of your breath on my neck,

the warmth of your lips on my cheek,

the touch of your fingers on my skin,

and the feel of your heart beating with mine...

Knowing that I could never find that feeling

with anyone other than you.

Argh! So corny, lucky this is my private journal and no one will ever read it. I’m going to find my holo-disks now.”

Marcus knocked on the door and entered,

“How is he doing?” he asked,

“Not sure, it is unknown whether or not he will wake up.” Kadie replied,

“I found this in the cells where you two were held,” Marcus told Kadie as he opened his hand revealing Reece’s mother’s ring, “I think he would’ve wanted you to have it.” Marcus said sadly, he passed it to Kadie and left the room slowly with his head drooped. Kadie studied the ring, it was pure silver, the middle of the ring was encrusted with diamonds, it had one big diamond on top of it. Kadie put it on her finger and sighed, she sat back down and started re-reading Reece’s journal.

“You know some people may get offended when others read their journal,” a voice spoke, Kadie looked up at the sound of the voice, she saw  Reece’s face looking at her with a smile, “lucky I am not one of them” Kadie grinned in delight, she jumped out of the chair and to Reece’s side, she hugged him and gave him a long kiss. She broke the kiss and hugged him tighter, “It’s good to see you too.” Reece told her, he grabbed her hand, “That looks pretty good on you.” He told her in reference to his ring,

“Oh, yeah, sorry, I was going to give that back to you.” Kadie replied,

“Well you can keep wearing it that is if you want to.”

“You mean?” Kadie asked, Reece nodded, she grinned in happiness and hugged him even more, “I will keep wearing it then.”

“That’s good to hear.” Reece replied with a gin of his own, “Now can you unhook me from these machines? I’m hungry.”
