EvolutionSFox
Well' date=' life just isn't really going good, I'm in a very difficult predicament. Beleive it or not, I'm very religous, and my religion warns me to stay away from violent video games, and SF falls right into that. It also says that I shouldn't be caught up in chat rooms. I would explain but it says not to talk about any religous stuff here. I really am in a horrible position, I just don't feel like throwing my burden of troubles on all of you nice people, I'm trying to make a serious decision that's going to have a huge impact on my life. I don't want to leave, and at the same time I do... I just don't know what to do, I'm scared.[/color'] Don't. But if you do, come back every once and a while. Inuyasha
Does it say SPECIFICALLY to, essentially, damn violent games and chat rooms? 'Cause that sounds...well, too specific. But...I dunno, I'd ask one of my religious leaders about it first, if I were you. Assuming you haven't already.... -Inuyasha

You're flying a ship shooting down robotics, not like grand theft auto or something. Plus there's no blood or anything. I don't see it as that violent. But I can see where you are coming from. I believe the reason those rules are in place is to protect you from negative influences. Violent video games are believed to create violence in the players (which is actually the environment the players are raised in/family issues/ friends issues, the video game doesn't really have an effect and more of a way to vent.......but I won't go into that) and chat rooms can also be a negative influence. Fortunately, SF-O is the only place I've found where everyone is nice and cool. You're not gonna be negativly influenced here. The desicion is yours SFMCjr. I'd really hate to see you go....... please stay!!!!!!!

I'd really hate to see you go....... please stay!!!!!!! Exelent point, I play (pretty much excusivly) video games that fit the sort you are trying to avoid, what I have found is: 1: don't play 'em when you are mad, that won't let youre brain cool off (just me) 2: don't play them for vastly extended amounts of time (like anything, in moderation) 3: don't make High scores/winning personal...... I have some freinds that quit Xbox Live for example, B/C they let losing get to them. They sitll play Halo, but they won't face other playesrs in spitt screen/Xbox live 'cus they just wanted to bash the face in of who pwned them..... simple: when you feel yourself ettin' relly aggitated, then stop. and MINDLESS vilonce like GTA, albeit amusing, is rather pointless...... SF isn't mindless
Inuyasha
I personally don't really like GTA. Too much violence for too little reason. I'm fine with blood and violence in games such as Halo, where your enemy is actually going to kill you if you don't kill him, and it's also a war. GTA is just...senseless, unjustified violence and gore. I like there to be at least some compelling reason to kill my opponent. -Inuyasha
ArwingMaster
I'm not a huge fan of it myself. Thats one of the reasons I stick to Nintendo. They still go for family values and focus on the player having fun (zelda, mario, metriod, pokémon, even SF).

[/quote'] Ah, licensed by Nintendo but not true Nintendo games. Other companies were involved as well. The hardcore classic Nintendo games are clean games. Kal
While Resident Evil is, Eternal Darkness was made and published by Nintendo. Check out its info page on GameFAQs. And you can't really say that the Prime games are exactly kid-friendly. One of the first rooms is filled with the twisted, horribly mangled bodies of the Pirates who tried to subdue the Parasite Queen. You scan them and find out that their skin's been burnt off, their intestines removed, their spinal column severed by a large claw through the back, parasites are feeding on one of the still-living crew, many are bleeding through charred holes in their skin... Oh yeah, and don't forget the parasite swarm jumping into your visor, splattering their guts everywhere. Yum, yum. One more thing: Twilight Princess. Thank you. I'm not complaining, I just hate that Nintendo's grown to have a humongous kiddie-game reputation. EDIT: I just realized how horrifically off-topic we are. :? The point of the Prime series wasn't to go around mindlessly shooting and killing. The games have good values behind them (i.e. saving the planet from phazon pollution). As for the kiddie-gmaes only some of them. Just because a game is rated "E" doesn't mean its a bad game. Mario, Kirby all of those are really fun. And Twilight Princess? From what I've seen it's similar to Zelda 64 violence and gore wise. Which isn't bad... *looks around* what was the topic again? Well...um....Life...uh... Our lives include video games and we're discussing violence in them? I d/k if you want to get back on topic no prob. But I think we can both agree on one thing, and the thing that got this started. Star Fox is not a terribly violent video game and violence should not be a reason to stop playing it because it's justified, non gory, and not really violent

Blaz3
Ok well, my life is good to me at the moment, really, but my school holidays are almost finished, I've just finished Star Fox Assault again because I wanted to collect the S-Flags and the story of it is so nice and beautiful and it makes me feel a lot more emotionally vulnerable in a way. With the end of school holidays coming to an end, Star Fox making my feelings much more sensetive, I just have a feeling of helplessness wash over me. Its not really the games' fault because I love it soo much, its just that its depressing to know that school holidays are nearly up. I just wanted to get that all out, I don't need help so don't worry too much. Right now, I'm going to go to bed watching an episode of either simpsons or family guy on DVD on my laptop, that should take my mind off things and tomorrow I should be back to normal again. Guest HYLIANWOLFEN
Hmm... My life? Okay, let me think. I'm not gonna say my life sucks and all that, I don't like it when people say that. I don't know why, I just hate it when people complain about how their life is so horrible. I won't hold it against any of you though. Well, I don't care about the past unless it considerably effects the present. So I'll just talk mostly about the present. I love Star Fox, that's a start. More specifically, I love Katt Monroe. Sometimes I realize I'm weird for this, but hey, I might grow out of it eventually. For now, I'll just be a Katt fanboy. I'm about to go into high school, they're letting me skip 8th grade for my uber smartyness. 8) Well okay, it's because I failed... Twice... And I'm too smart for that. I was lagging behind with my not so bright twin brother. I decided to actually move foward so next year I'll be in 9th and he'll be in 7th again. Muwahahaha! .......... Okay, moving on. People tell me I have no life, so I just go with that. I sit here at this computer all day, doing this. I like video games, sleep, talking about video games, reading, sleep, math, spelling, and sleep. I practically live on the Star Fox board at the Nintendo Nsider forums, where I read EVERYTHING. Nothing slips past my watchful eyes. I have a few friends on there, and I think I have one friend in real life at school. I'm not that popular. I'm that long-haired, smart, geeky, video game obsessed, weird kid that washes his hands every five minutes. Yeah, I'm a bit of a germaphobe, and being around people makes me severely uncomfortable. I don't have a particular taste in music, but whatever my brother is listening to is what I'm into. He's got Taking Back Sunday blaring from the stereo right now. Anyway, about my bro. He's my evil twin that's extremely popular and admired by all the girls in the school. I envy him for that, but he's as dumb as a bag of nails. He does math at a third grade level. So yeah, that's my current life. At least all that comes to mind right now... Oh yeah, I have difficulty talking to females, I'm a bit of a Nintendo fanboy, I own roughly under 40 games, I don't get an allowance, I have asthma, and sometimes I feel like the only non-pervert around... These aren't complaints. I like my life.
