For Bill or Peppy, "Fortunate Son" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. They just seem like those downhome American type to me.

For Panther, (I can't believe I'm gonna say this) "Too sexy for my shirt" Think about it.

Those are perfect! Especially Last of an Ancient Breed, Dark Angel (I thought it was Black?), Tainted Love (one of my favorite 80s songs!), Holy Diver (LOL), Madhouse, and Come on Feel the Noise.

Oh, and Military Fashion show = EPIC YES. I love that song. :D It fits!

Thanks, and regarding Elis' song title, you're right! OOps!  I'd better edit that

*edits previous post*

there!  thanks for the heads up on that!

Wow, you really know your music, catwings...and you got musical taste thereof, right on!

This song sooo reminds me of Falco:

You all knew this was coming, for Krystal: "Foxy Lady" by Jimmy Hendrix

And I thought of one for Leon: "Almost Dead", ONCE AGAIN from the Shadow the Hedgehog Soundtrack, (It was for the Dark Ending, it actually fits.)

Wonder what "Zhdat" by Marakesh could be used for?

I love Highway to the Danger Zone. Besides my passion for rock'n roll, I have also got this thing for cheesy 80's music. Don't know why, it just works.

I love old disco music like "Do a little dance", "Shake your booty", and "I'm Your Boogieman".  Those are cool!  I heard "Do a Little Dance" at lunch and I started doing a few disco moves in my mom's car.  I laughed at myself when I got done >xD

I will take this from a different angle: All classical!

Fox:

Xzf0rvQa4Mc

Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man is a heroic piece. I think it fits him nicely.

Peppy:

NlFnahc_OVs

The Great Gates of Kiev by Modest Mussorgsky from the Pictures at an Exhibition suite. Originally written for piano, but I prefer this Orchestra Version. Kiev is a city in the Ukraine. The city lucked out: The original plan was to build the Vladimir Lenin Nuclear Power Plant less than 10km from the city. Instead, they built it at Chernobyl...

Falco:

g2z5k9Qs5W4

Galop from Cherymushki by Soviet composer Dimitri Shostakovich. A fast, and somewhat reckless-sounding piece. Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee" would work, too.

Slippy:

kbc4etXQMoM

Children's March: Over the Hills and Far Way. Percy Grainger's work. An innocently happy-go-lucky piece. Grainger was quite the racist. He believed in the supremacy of the "blue-eyed English" race. So much so that he refused to use the Italian-based directions and tempo markings in his scores: They are all in English.

Krystal:

KOIJBQc83ko

I was tempted to be stereotypical and pick the "Love Theme" from Tchaikovsky's suite based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, but I decided against that worn-out clichè. Instead I went with Gustav Holst's Venus, the Bringer of Peace from The Planets. It seems more fitting for her personality (pre-SFC, at least).

Corneria (a national anthem, if you will):

vxQnc2kBUQY

(After Celeste intro [0:35]) Novorossisk Chimes, known to the West as "The Fire of Eternal Glory." Another Shostakovich piece. In fact, Shostakovich originally wrote this melody for the contest to write the Soviet National Anthem. Unfortunately, he didn't win. Alexander Alexandrov's "Hymn to the Soviet Union" (Don't click link if you are in a place where you would be criticized for listening to this) did (a beautiful work in it's own right). This is one of my favorite pieces of music. So expressive and beautiful, quite in contrast to what Shostakovich is known for (aggressive, and dissonant stuff). Doesn't get much attention outside the former Soviet countries, but in Russia it is perhaps Shostakovich's best-known work. It is played looped at Lenin's tomb. The piece is great for Brass, too. I have a recording of either a Brass Choir or a Drum Corps playing it.

Wolf:

FBbHcpF3nqo

I go back to Holst's The Planets suite for this one. This time I go with the suite's opener: Mars, The Bringer of War, seeing as every time you come across Wolf, he is itching for a fight.

Leon:

yJgZ-GiPlvM

Reinhold Gliere's Russian Sailor's Dance from The Red Poppy. It's a dark, mysterious, piece that gets fast in aggressive. Edward Greig's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" would work as well.

Panther:

EuQQxZ7TXaY

Ernesto Lecuona's Malagueña. This pianist takes his time starting, but an interesting performance. Not exactly Classical, but a well-known piano solo. The piece is most known, though, as an arrangement for Big Band done by Bill Holman for the Stan Kenton Orchestra. This version is popular with Marching Bands and Drum Corps. This Latin-styled Piano Solo is about a guy serenading a black-eyed (per the lyrics "Malagueña de ojos negros. Malagueña de mis sueños." [Malagan Woman with Black Eyes. Malagan Woman of my Dreams]) woman from Málaga, Spain (Malagueña translates into 'Woman from Málaga' ). Version with lyrics:

DZ COMPOSER, Can I just  say that your choices in music themes for the Star Fox characters are just AWESOME!?

So many countries have such beautiful anthems, and what did we Americans pick for our national melody? A freaking English drinking song.

I added it to my post above, but in case you fail to notice,

. I would advise you listen to it in a place where you won't be accused of being a commie. lol.

I'll say...plus, American Military Uniforms are among the plug-ugliest uniforms on the planet...so unfair :(

....awesome song, thanks for posting that, dude!  (Sorry I missed it earlier) I doubt I be accused of being a commie for listening to that, especially here in California... :P

back on topic, (sorry for my derailment)

The overall theme to The Star Fox Team oughtta be:

"Do or Die" from Ace Combat 5

DZ, I love Holst's The Planets suite. (You do indeed have excellent taste in music!) Jupiter has to be my favorite, though...and if I had to pick a character to match, it'd be Fox. Bold and powerful, yet light and interesting. Then again, that's just my interpretation.

Jupiter is also one of my favorites as well, out of my whole music library, I think it is one of the only three "classic" pieces. That says a lot.

I've always been a fan of that suite. So much so that I even bought the score (you can get it from Dover for about $15). "Neptune, the Mystic" has a most interesting direction: "The Chorus is to be placed in an adjoining room, the door of which is to be left open until the last bar of the piece, when it is to be slowly and silently closed. The chorus, the door, and any sub-conductors that me be found are to be well screened form the audience." That "last bar" is marked "this bar is to repeated until the sound is lost in the distance."
