I spent too much money there, I bought a sword and a new CB

a 350 crate engine I got a deal on from a friend of my dad's.  330 horse (will end up at 400), hooker headers, performance intake, upgraded from 200r4 tranny to 700r4, 7.5" (or 7" cant remember right now) posi rear end, and tons more stuff

Pulled the engine on the Bandit today. Came out pretty easily, too. Now I just have to order the gaskets I need, and pull that tranny apart to put second gear in. It's not exactly a quick job, however...

Here's the frame, minus engine. The engine is a stressed member in the frame, so taking it out really takes a lot away from the bike.

This is the big hole left in the bike, without the engine block, carburetors, air box, fuel tank and exhaust pipe.

here's the engine/transmission block, placed upside-down on a table so I can pull the tranny shafts without having to take apart the top end. I hope this works...

I hope to have this thing put back together and rolling in a week, provided I can find the parts.

RRrgh!  I got this jackass neighbor down the street who keeps changing gears on a car with no muffler....the noise gets on my nerves, since sound carries through this valley area.

The what? ricers?  :?

Wannabe streetracers driving modified japanese cars. All show, and no go. They idolise the Fast & Furious movies, and want to be like the guys there.

Watch this.

Funny song about one of the more popular ricer brands.

  • 2 weeks later...

I bought a gauge package at the AMC show the other day, doesn't quite fit, I think it may be for a Spirit or Concord, I think I'll wire it in and just leave it there anyway (even if it doesn't work), I can't bring myself to cut it to make it fit correctly.

S7300222-1.jpg

I also got to the air shocks today, much easier than I thought it would be

here are the new shocks

S7300217-1.jpg

And the passenger old shock, still had a lot of, errr, springiness? to it, but I had to crush it to hold it still and take the bolt off the top of it.

The trash men were here and I wanted to get rid of them, so I threw them in the can before taking a picture of both of them, I don't think it matters though, we've all seen old shocks before

S7300218-1.jpg

I had to mount the drivers side shock with the air hookup pointing out, the exhaust pipe would have been right in the way

S7300220-1.jpg

I pumped it up as much as I could at home, then I drove to the flying j to do it right, though it has no gauge on the one there (hey, it's one of the last free air places) a guy pulled up behind me to fill up a donut, I was almost done, and I guess I didn't tighten one of the ends enough, so it popped off and the guy had the shit scared out of him thinking the car was collapsing on me

S7300219-1.jpg

Look at all the new ground clearance

S7300221-1.jpg

And she feels so much better, it's amazing what a few degrees in stance can make

Great Eagle! Giving ones own personal touches to your vehicle is an essential part of the hobby.

Figure you gearheads may find this interesting. I don't agree with more than a few choices on this list, but whatever.

I glanced at it andsaw some of my favorite cars

AMC Pacer

Briclkin SV-1

DeLorean DMC-12

El Camino

VW Thing

Mustang II

None of those I would call ugly. But then, I believe the ugliest cars are the blandest. The car I probably would dislike the most because of its looks, aside from the real horros like the Multipla and the Ssanyong's, is probably a solid, 90's Japanese commuter of some kind.

YESS

Still prefer Russ Swift in his little Mini.VeryHappy-2.gif

This is what 427 cubic inches does in a Fairlane around the Nuremburgring

Thanks for the share Eagle. That was some great footage with an extraordinary vehicle being put to use. I did however catch that the driver did pass a couple others in ways that could potentially have lead to acidents, at least judging by this clip.

This may sound quite cheesy, but I'm really liking the 1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria
