Ah, an ARV. You're essentially a Tank Tow Truck driver. :P

That's basically it.Smile-2.gif

DUDE!

That is awesome

The engineering that goes into designing the drivetrains for military vehicles of that size is amazing.

You rock

Holy Man! Words can't describe how awesome that job sounds. Any vehicle that you can run down a tree in and not notice must be a blast to drive. I'd love to see the drivetrain on that thing.

I suddenly feel grossly inadequate, working on vehicles as small and insignificant as motorcycles... By the way, anybody have a 1982 Yamaha IT175 fuel tank that they might want to sell me? Mine is full of holes.

We were able to get the tank on my buddy's 79 KZ900 welded, but

Oh, here is what came out of my radiator

Thanks guys. And yes indeed, the drivetrain of it is quite the spectacular sight. Not to long ago, we practiced drivetrain lifting out of a Leopard 2A4 MBT, which has an even bigger engine. 47.6 litre V12. The whole drivetrain weights over 5 tonnes, and costs more than 1 million USD should one wish to order a replacement.

Because that is transmission fluid in my radiator, the trans cooler, which is inside the radiator, had ruptured, which probably also means I need to flush my transmission.

I'm still waiting for my new rad to come in

It's a plastic tank. I used a soldering gun and some extra plastic cut from a fender to "weld" up the cracks, but the plastic on the gas tank has been soaked in fuel and oil for thirty years now, so when it was heated up, it bubbled and went all porous. Now the fuel leaks right through the plastic. :(

Oh, here is what came out of my radiator

Yikes! Definitely flush out that tranny, and don't forget to check the water pump. I've seen the detergents in ATF eat right through plastic pump blades.

Comes in handy if you ever have to, I donno, move a small planet or something. :P

That means you're doing it wrong. :troll:

Well this is how its going as far as cars go. My Tiburon redlined and blew a gasket and 2 pistons straight out of the manifold. Going to be bussy for a while as I scout the junk yards for a new manifold and order new pistons and rings and the who package. Most expensive Friday night ever.

Well, I've come to the decision that The Eagle is getting to be too much work to me, every time I fix something on her something else breaks, which I wouldn't mind, if she were anything but a wagon, I'm 20, I really don't want a wagon

so I'm selling her and the Kammback, and looking into a 1958 Plymouth Savoy and 1966 Pontiac Bonneville

Real shame that. Well, best of luck on the lookout for the Bonneville and/or the Savoy.

Yeah  :(

I don't need to sell her, so I'm not letting her go for less than $2200, and the person will have to "apply" before purchasing, she's only going to somebody who will take care of her, and give me first chance when they sell her later if I want to buy her back
