Everyone has been talking about Krystal in the next Smash Bros. game. But what fighting style should she use?  I would have to go between her staff and some martial arts with moves like roundhouse kicks.

yeah something that's more hand to hand than Fox and Falco... her staff would be like her blaster as well as melee weapon.... her reflector would be her staffs sheidl double jump staff rocket boost which like mario's double jump will hurt someone  ontop of her  her ground quake would be a great down+b attack.

Did you know that in  the mod Paths of fate starfox fan game Krystal's disarm move steals the oppnets weapon then smacks them with it?

On a funny note as well, Krystal is supposed to be skilled with her staff but, is never seen using her staff in any Star Fox game, it would actually be cool to see her use it and how she fights with it.

And they must make her moves different from Fox, etc. because everyone will call her a clone character.

in the fan game Paths of fate Krystal has special things Only she can do with her staff although other characters can use it there are a few things Only she can do  (Also I din't make this mod so don't give me any credit for it)

yes make her moves diffrent my question though would be would she wear her adventures assault or This outfit

I would say all of them, like they did with Wario between his biker outfit and his normal one. But they would have to make modifications to her adventures outfit because..... well you know why.

I agree with the outfits. And definetly not another clone. Considering wolf and falco. Don't get me wrong i main them both but lets see some variety in our space animals please? is it really so hard to make a new moveset?

yeah please Falco and wolf are just Fox clones with small modifcation Krysal should be completely diffrent Like Mairo and Peach.

yeah I know... a good set of panties  would fix that... i would also think that thing is weigthed down a bit to keep it from flying up like that...

I have no problem with Falco and Wolf with the same moves as Fox but I'm just tired of everyone complaining about how she would be a clone as well.

I have a problem with Wolf as there was a rumor that he replaced Krystal in brawl. And I just dislike Falco sorry ,but a so called 'friend' Ruined him for me.

That does make sense, Krystal was the third most requested character for Brawl and they removed her for him, wonder why they did that? If you go to Krystal Archive, there is a recording of the announcer saying her name for character selection.

I could see her being a character who focuses on multiple small hits from a distance, with only a few real "finishers" in her repertoire. One move I particularly liked in Adventures was that windmill with the staff that you can do, even if it was pointless to do it in the StarFox game. Even so, that and various other "multi-hit for low damage on each hit" moves could make her a good juggler and able to rack up damage pretty quickly and efficiently, so long as it's balanced out by difficulty in actually delivering KOs without some fancy maneuvering. Y'know...kinda like the concept behind Sonic, without the "can't kill anything" factor.

A little justification for this point of view is her PvP abilities in Assault. She was slightly crappier than Fox in a couple of areas, and equal to him in everything else, except that she had more shields. Because of this, a Krystal player would have to fight very defensively and with very little bravado (no rushing into the thick of battle), which is why she'd have a longer range but less killing ability in a Smash Bros. setting.

Incidentally, I agree with the use of various staff powers for her special moves, since that'd make the most sense. Obviously they wouldn't work exactly like in the game, but a little tweaking could make her have quite the interesting moveset. It'd be really funny to put the "door unlock" ability in there somehow, but I get the feeling that's not going to happen. :P

Final Smash could possibly be calling the Cloudrunner from Adventures, where it'd be controllable and able to shoot fireballs, similarly to Yoshi. The difference would probably be speed and maneuverability, since the thing's pretty darned big. With Krystal, her final smash could really be -anything- though. Something to do with the Krazoas, something to do with her telepathy, something to do with a change to Kursed...we have a lot of options here.

One more thing: Wolf, Fox, and Falco are really only clones in their final smashes. Their play styles are so wildly different that they're about as close to each other as Captain Falcon and Ganondorf. Yes, the models are similar, but if you play them all the same, you're going to lose frequently with at least two of them. Off-topic, I know, but I couldn't just sit by and not say anything. :P

The change to Kursed thing might be a good Idea like the Zero suit Samus thing  cept without the power loss.

The change to Kursed thing might be a good Idea like the Zero suit Samus thing  cept without the power loss.

If they did do a change to Kursed, though, it probably ought to be implemented only if Nintendo develops that aspect of her a bit more. Samus and Zamus are wildly different characters, as are Zelda/Sheik and the Pokémon Trainer, so a wildly different moveset would be the only thing that could justify such an option for her. Then again, they -did- develop a moveset for Sheik in Melee with no real reference other than her smokebombs, so Kursed is a possibility if they're willing to take the time to make stuff up for her. I brought up Kursed as a possibility just to make a point, but it would be kinda cool to see.

What we Krystal fans have to remember is that the Smash Bros. developers have to deal with 30-some other characters (or more) as well, so the time and effort put into her would probably have to be limited. I imagine that from now on we're either going to see less-frequent Smash Bros games or we're going to see less innovation in the ones that come out. These games work on such a massive scale that putting too much effort into one character could put production behind pretty badly. However, if the trend we saw with Brawl continues, these guys really do put a huge amount of effort into everything. I mean, hiring all those composers, adding the Subspace Emissary with all those awesome cutscenes, including so many characters (rightly or wrongly) and balancing them out so much better than in Melee (there are only a couple characters that are severely underpowered or overpowered, and even then the differences aren't as wild as Pichu/Mewtwo vs. Fox). Effort does not seem to be lacking.

All that said, this is a "what if" topic, so I think we ought to go crazy with our ideas. Given all the text I've written, it should be pretty clear I'm having fun with it anyway! :D

I honsetly thought Krystal was going to be in Brawl... Anyways:

Speed: Fast and Agile

Weight: Light

Wall Grab: Yes

Glide/Float: No

Jump Height: Medium

Fall Speed: Slow

Strength: Weak overall (some killing specials/charges)

Neutral Attack Lag: None/Low

Charge Attack Lag: Low

Special Attack Lag: Low

Extended Grapple: Yes

Grapple Edge: Yes

Ranged: Yes

Reflect: No

I see Krystal's netural fighting moves to be various attack styles with her staff with the occasional punch/kick. I think her side charge could be a quick jab with her staff and little magical sparks on the end of it do the damage, sweet spot  if you hit with the jab first then the magic (simular to Zelda's), down charge could be a quick low spin with her staff, again with the magical sparks, her up charge could be thre quick strikes upwards (Simular to Link's but faster and less powerful).

Specials... uhm...

Side: Shoot three quick fireballs, destroyed on impact (reflectable)

Down: Ground Quake (Like DK's but more powerful and is not 'rapid fire')

Up: Rocket (), swings her staff down to get fire forcing her in the user indicated direction (simular to Lucario but does damage)

Final Smash: A cloudrunner (stolen Samantha ;)) it does attacks on its own when it sees an opponent but if the user presses the attack button Krystal shoots like 7 fireballs (2 second cooldown).

(I was thinking they could have like four final smashes in the next game like up final smash, side final smash, down final smash and neutral final smash)

That would take up a lot of space that developers would want for other things.....good idea but no means to achieve.
