Outside The Bar

Ris wanted to say something concerning telepaths, but he held his tongue, gazing around at the hostages and studying their faces.  He recognized a few of them from growing up, some of them even his age, but there was one vixen who stuck out.

Although thirty-six, she still looked very young, her fur, as white as the snow outside, doing nothing to hide her attractive figure.  Her face showed no wrinkles, but her sapphire blue eyes revealed worry and fear as well as determination to get through the ordeal.  The vixen's hair reached down to her shoulder blades, faintly blue to the point of almost being white itself.  From what Ris could see of her and the other females in the room, none had been physically abused by their captors.

The young vulpine kept his cloak up, not wanting to reveal himself until it was safe, his blue eyes locked on his mother.

'So you -are- here...'

Snapping out of it, Ris turned his head to the blue vixen.  "So they're free to go home?"  He asked, keeping his voice just as low.

"Not sure yet Waiting for Ruby's report to see if they had Reinforcements ."Krystal replied keeping her tone low. "Even if they don't come though I don't think it's safe for them to go till their ship leaves orbit  Serena is monitoring everything she can from the ships sensors."Krystal explained. "lovely mother."She added sniffing a little as she remembered her mother who she never saw.

Ris grunted quietly in response.  It made sense; if there was still a chance that they would be attacked, it wasn't a risk worth taking.  At the comment about his mother, though, he quietly asked, "Wait, how do you know which one she is?  She's one out of nineteen here."

"I've used these cloaks for along time I saw you look at her. Plus your aura's are similar."Krystal replied. "you think we can activate the sheild and hold up in here till it blows over?"Krsytal asked.

The fox mentally shrugged the issue off--he -was- watching her for a while.

Thinking about Krystal's question, he thought for a moment.  "I don't know the codes,"  Ris replied, looking towards the consoles in the center, "But if you know a way, go for it.  It might draw a little attention, but it'd give us some time, too.  Your call."

"I'll have Serena drop some supplies before we do just in case. "Are any of the them Hungry?" Krystal asked

Ruby dumped all the guards outside in preparation for their next move.

A large crate dropped  from the  cloaked destroyer, no pirates were around or Conscious to notice as it's parachute deployed it landed softly inside the control center

"If I remember these right."Krystal muttered activating the shield."I guess I do remember."Krystal smiled turning her cloak off "stay calm ,please we're here to rescue you ,but those Terrorist are still  on their ship I don't think it's safe to go home yet."Krystal explained calmly.

"I don't know, ask them."  Ris muttered, walking over to the wall, his cloak still activated.

Although at first startled by Krystal's sudden appearance, a certain white-furred vixen stepped forward.  "Are you taking care of them?  Everyone here is awfully worried and their families are faring no better."  She explained quietly, her blue eyes calmly searching Krystal's for the answers she wanted.

Krystal looked Concernedly at the white Vixen. "I've got supplies here." Krystal replied opening the Container which held many diffrent unspoilable foods and  that were easy to open and water. " The Village? I knew this would be a lot harder." Krystal said looking into the eyes of the vixen with uncertainty. Trying to change the subject temporarily. she asked "Your Ris Grestar's mother am I right?"  Thinking about what she could do to help the others she tried to come up with a plan.

The vixen was rather taken aback.  "Ris?  Well, yes, I am.  Do you know him?  Is he doing okay?"  Sighing, her ears drooped slightly.  "You know, I haven't seen that boy in three years, almost four..."

Hearing their conversation, Ris quickly went down the hall, walking close along the perimeter of the building so as to stay within the shield's limit.  Turning to face the wall, the fox kicked off of the ground, spraying snow behind him as he rapidly approached the wall.  Taking a few quick steps along the vertical surface, he grabbed onto a small ledge and pulled himself up, reaching for another handhold.  Pulling himself up onto the roof, the vulpine walked back towards the center, sitting down and allowing his legs to hang over the edge as he stared down at the two vixens, remaining cloaked--he hoped it didn't have a battery or anything, otherwise he'd just have to stay in the shadows for a while.

"I'm very glad to hear it.  I'm Aisu, Aisu Coons.  It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Krystal."  Aisu introduced herself, bowing at the waist in greeting.  "I've heard bits and pieces of the Star Fox team's work, though I didn't know there were females involved."

Krystal bowed back respectfully"Well I'm Fox's wife he rescued me on Sauria along time ago I also seemed to have brang in a lot of females into the  team, all the boys were out on vacation so naturally we were the only ones able to respond."Krystal explained "So umm can you explain what's going on here the media cover very little."Krystal muttered.

Ruby Tapped Ris's shoulder "Why aren't you talking to your mother?"she asked in a whisper.

Looking over to Ruby, a little surprised to see her on the roof until he remembered the booster pack, he mumbled, "I...I don't want her to think I'm a hero of any kind.  If I'm here working with the Star Fox team, actually -helping- them at all...Yeah..."

Aisu's expression became a little distraught.  "Honestly, I cannot say...They wouldn't tell us and they didn't converse while they held us in captivity.  All I know is that they took us from our homes or as we walked along the streets and dragged us all here, threatening to kill us and those we love if we tried anything."

"Why not?" Ruby asked simply.

Krystal sighed and looked around For Ris she'd lost him and have to  focus to find the clear sign of cloaking  to find him again. Why aren't you down here Ris? She thought.

"No nothing."Krystal sighed sitting down she closed her eyes. Ris why?

"What do you mean?"Ruby asked"Don't you realize what your doing to Krystal  most of the reason she came here was because of you and your family she would have came  here anyway ,but she was in a Rush because she knew your family was in trouble."Ruby explained.

'My head.'

"Look, I'm not doing anything to Krystal, Ruby.  There's no reason for her to be upset; she's saved all of these people, at least for now, and allowed me to make sure my mother was safe.  She knows I'm grateful...And if she doesn't, boy, is she ignorant."

Ruby sighed "Sorry bout this."She said before pushing him over the edge and flipping the switch on his cloak to off before he fell.

Krystal looked over to where Ris had fallen. Sometimes I wish that girl hadn't picked up my stubborness. she thought.

'Gosh dang it, Ruby!'  Ris mentally cursed the she-wolf as he fell, his cloak no longer activated.  As he hit the ground, the fox tucked into a roll, ending up crouched after receiving no harm from the fall.  His head snapping up, his ears lowered slightly to his head as he locked eyes with the white vixen.

Aisu was again taken aback at the sudden appearance of her son, blinking a few times to make sure it was real.  "Ris?"

"Erm..."  Quickly standing up, Ris grinned sheepishly, looking away as he tightened his headband.  "Heh...Hey, Mom..."

The next moment he was held in a tight embrace, the female nuzzling her head against his shoulder.  "Oh, Ris, I missed you so much!  You have no idea what three years does to a mother with no sign of her only child!"

Suppressing a sigh, the blue vulpine returned the hug, closing his eyes as he rested his head on hers.  "I-I'm sorry, Ma, just...You know, money's been tight and--"

Looking up at him as she pulled away slightly, Aisu asked worriedly, "Well, are you all right?  How did you survive?  Ris, when you left, I thought I had los--"

"I'm here.  That's all that matters."  Ris interrupted her, smiling.

She pulled him into another hug, wrapping her arms around his neck.  "I know you plan on leaving again, Ris, but when you do, would you at least keep in touch with us?  We've missed you."

"I missed you and Dad, too...So you married?"

"Oh..."  Aisu responded, her fur easily letting the light blush show through.  "Yes, we did...Is that okay with you?"

"You know how I feel about him, Mom.  He's great for you."

The vixen's blue eyes twinkled for a moment as she kissed him on the cheek.  "Thank you, Ris, it means a lot."

"He made me who I am today.  I called him Dad even when I lived here, don't you remember?  O-Oh..."  The blue fox suddenly blushed himself, looking over to Krystal.  "Sorry.  I saw that you met Krystal already,"  He began, nodding to her before gesturing towards the rooftop, "And Ruby's watching from above.  Mind coming down, Ruby?"

"If you don't mind Telling her who brought you here."Ruby muttered deactiving he cloak she was already on the ground all that mountain training from the academy had taught her how to climb quickly.

"If you want Aisu  I can get you two a phone line to speak on every once and awhile after we're done with this of course."Kystal muttered.

"I'm pleased to meet you as well, Ruby."  Aisu greeted her with a bow as she had done with Krystal, smiling sincerely.  "And what an attractive name for an attractive young woman."

Scratching the back of his neck, Ris said, "Krystal, thanks, but that's not nece--"

"I would love that, Krystal!"

"...Heh, yeah.  Anyway, those two brought me here along with 'em."

The Arctic vixen spun around to face him, her head lightly cocked in wonder.  "They are both on the Star Fox team, are they not?"  Her blue eyes suddenly lit up as a thought struck her.  Wrapping her arms around Ris again just as he was about to speak, his ears drooped.

"M-Mom, it's not what you th--"

"I told you you were meant for great things, Ris, didn't I?  Oh, I always knew you would do something with your life..."

The vulpine's skin burned in embarrassment beneath his fur, his eyes searching Ruby's and Krystal's for an excuse.  Holding in a sigh, he explained, "Well, come on, you don't have to be a hero to do something with your life."

Pulling away, Aisu looked her son in the eyes.  "Of course not, sweetie.  You can do whatever you want to do.  You know that no matter which path in life you choose, I'll be proud of you."

Ris smiled lightly in return.  "Thanks, Mo-"

"But I'm so happy that you chose to fight for what you believe in, Ris!  Oh, your father would be so proud..."

The blue fox suddenly felt a weight in his stomach, his smile faltering for a moment.  "Yeah...I'm sure he would be..."

"Thank you Miss Aisu..."Ruby muttered returning the bow.

"Yeah about that he's not in Starfox yet ,but he was planning to."Krystal explained"But He did come with us so I suppose that makes him part of this group so if you don't mind Aisu would you and Your Son accompany me to your village so we can access what we need to do?"Krystal asked

'Teh, planned to.  Was -considering- it.'

"Krystal,"  Ris interjected, his ear flicking, "Didn't you say that it wasn't yet safe for them to go home?"
