The Movie Thread

Alien, A classic at best.

Saw "The Crazies" Yesterday, it was good IMO.

The remake? The good thing about that movie to me is that they mention stuff from where I live.

They mentioned Ceder Rapids which is close to my hometown, they mentioned the Iowa Hawkeyes which is my towns NCAA team, and the anchor man at the end credits is Bruce Aune, Johnson County's Channel 9 news anchor man. When I saw and heard these things I was very happy that they actually got into a movie.

Guest Julius Quasar

I saw the original "The Stepfather" (from 1987) and "The Stepfather 2" (From 1989), and "The Stepfather 3" (from 1992) on youtube, watching segment by segment...sucked that Terry O'Quinn left after the second one, and that dude who replaced him was..."okay", but not as good as Terry (though he was a helluva lot better than Dylan Walsh).

The 2009 Remake of the first "The Stepfather" sucked ass.

The creepy thing is that "The Stepfather" and its sequels/remakes are based on a true story, though they caught this guy, and he's rotting in jail now.

*whistles "Camptown Races"*

Watched The Town last night, EXCELLENT movie. Definitely recommend checking it out. Say what you will about Ben Affleck, he may have made some poor career choices, but he can definitely direct a film.

The Pacifier with Vin Diesel, which came out in 2005, one of the best years for movies in my opinion.

Was at the premiere of "Trolljegeren" (The Trollhunter) yesterday. It's sort of like a mix between the Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield in many ways, except that it's miles better, with the handheld camera effect that brings with it(luckily, not entirely Clover-hopeless with the shaking). It made me jump in some places, ache me further foreward in the seat or laugh in others. It entertained, thrilled and captured me troughout the entire film, and while one'll miss several points having not grown up in Norway, I'll still heartily recommend this for an international audience.

I've been rewatching the Harry Potter movies recently, they're such a blast! In my opinion nothing is better than the books themselves but the movies are a close second. Sorry audio tapes. My favorite of all of them has to be Sorceror's Stone. Nothing's better than seeing Hogwarts for the first time!

it seems that ever since the 3rd movie the series have gotten more and more darker. Like they're no longer suitable for kids that are at a younger age.

Hence the pg-13 ratings... I have to agree, there isn't alot of humor in the later movies compared to the first 3. But I still can't wait til nezt week for HP 7 part 1!

Saw Paranormal Activity 2 this weekend...

It's terrible.  It's boring as hell and just uses random jump scares.

Like, the original was amazing and TERRIFYING, mainly cuz they built up the scares and stuff throughout.

After the film, you started jumping at any noise you heard and checked every shadow when you went to bed.

PA 2 they just kind of randomly do things and have little to no build-up throughout.

No me gusta  :x

Avoid PA 2, stick with PA 1.
