I want to see the third movie for TRANSFORMERS, is it any good? (and now thinking of a good idea, what if they made a starfox series of movies? I'd like to spend my money on that one. )

I need a pirep on Red Tails. Anybody seen it?

That's something I've been meaning to take a look at as well; it actually looks interesting and encompasses everything that there was to admire about the Tuskegee Airmen.

Yeah, that and it features two of the sexiest planes of the war, and looks like it has some kick-a$$ (if not slightly overdramatized) dogfights!

I was switching through channels and I found The Jerk playing, and what perfect timing because I came across this scene:

The Gold Rush, by Charlie Chaplain is an amazing movie. Silent films at their best right there.

You don't realize how much I love The Jerk. Steve Martin's genius can only be matched by Jim Carrey IMO.

First off, me being an enormous film-buff (a snob at times), so I'll probably bombard this thread with movie recommendations.

I'll spare you too much of my all-time favs, but my two number one favorite films are:

-Oldboy (2003; Directed by Park Chan-wook)(from South Korea)

-Apocalypse Now (1979; Directed by Francis Ford Coppola)

As for movies running through theaters right now, I will immediately recommend Michael Hazanavicus' The Artist. The fact that it's silent AND in black & white will immediately turn off a lot of mainstream movie-goers, but this is a phenomenal achievement in modernizing the silent film while maintaining the classic style. I'd need to see it again to give you more detail, but all I can say is to go ch-check it out.

The second film I've seen this year is Steve McQueen's Shame, a harrowing look into the life of a sex addict. Keep in mind, this movie is NOT for everybody (as it's rated NC-17), but this is one of the best films I've ever seen. While it's not nearly as sexually graphic as many other films (I'm looking at you, Irreversible), if you can stomach the film, please go see it. By the way, not THE Steve McQueen.

You'll see me back for more updates on my movie life probably! See y'all soon!

I just watched Monsters (2010) and oh my.. I didn't expect much but the plot sounded interesting so I gave it a go and I will never regret it.

It's just such a beautiful movie in every way possible. The acting is top-notch (except for a few places, but eh) and the score is just phenomenal. And I thought it was a pretty big budget movie when I decided to watch it. Afterwards I learned it was only a budget of ~$500,000! Considering how high-quality the acting, music, and effects are.. wow. Unbelievable.

The cool thing is, it wouldn't even benefit from a bigger budget or more action or a longer length. Everything works so perfectly. I was slightly disappointed by the ending, it just seemed too sudden but I still loved every second of it.

Apparently when it released it was advertised as a huge-thrilling-awesome-sci-fi-action movie and a lot of people expected that, and when they got kind of a dark, more "boring", dramatic adventure, they cried a lot and made the movie slump down to the depths.

There are some geography mistakes throughout but hey, I didn't care. It made it more interesting and creative.

So anyway, yes, go watch this thing if you can get your hands on it somewhere. Definitely worth the hour and a half run time in my opinion. I plan to watch it a few more times soon enough.

Maybe it's not for everyone, though, but everything seemed so perfect to me and I was in exactly the right mood today for something like this.

Saw the Amazing-Spiderman last night. I for one thought it was an OK movie. I didn't particularly love it (like the Avengers) but I didn't really hate it. Probably because I don't really care for Spiderman in the first place (then why did I see it? Peer pressure. When 3 of your friends call you and invite you to go see it, you don't just say no, especially when your parents give you the money because you helped them water all the plants around the house in 105 degree heat.)

Finally got the courage to watch this...

One of the absolute most brutal films I've ever seen (not at all for the weak of heart or stomach), but honestly also one of the best films I've seen in a very long time.

And I finally picked up the Ingmar Bergman Trilogy box set, which includes Through a Glass Darkly, Winter Light, and The Silence - dubbed a trilogy since they all deal with mutual issues, that of an examination of God (or lack thereof), alienation, and broken families. I just watched Through a Glass Darkly and it certainly deserved the Oscar for Best Foreign Picture. Trying to find time to watch the others.
