IArmoredSnowWhiteI
Like last year? Snow White & The Huntsman. Cause of bad reviews and Twilight haters one of the most underrated movies imo. ''They have eyes, but do not see'' would fit with most of the people who saw it, but didn't like it because it didn't have personality. The personality is hidden, which is rare in movies. I've never seen anything like it before. But after watching very carefull you can see that this movie talks with objects and events. Like at one moment the Mirror Man is there and suddenly not. But you switches to Finn's mind, who can not see it. Only Ravenna can see the mirror, which could be part of her insanity or the spell. Another small one would be the moment Snow White looks into the mirror, pokerface. But in her mind she is actually battleing between if she's a killer or a saver. I don't wanna say to much, it would spoil the movie My opinion.
Drasiana
Except the problems you had with the movie are objectively wrong because, first of all, Smaug is not blue, you have half the characters confused for different ones and your plot "predictions" that make the "rest of the movie suck" are flat-out wrong. As in, the shit you were complaining about because you JUST KNEW it was going to happen doesn't actually happen. Just like if I said Snow White and the Huntsman sucked because it was about vampires. It isn't. Therefore I can't criticize it for that. Are we on the same page now? I really don't give a shit that you think the part with the eagles was dumb, just don't make shit up for the purpose of disliking a movie. Can we do that? If we rip on something can we be ripping on aspects of it that actually exist? Because if not then I'm going to prepare my essay on how much I disliked Harry Potter because of the part where the aliens killed Harry's parents. I didn't call her an idiot, unless her complaint was that a children's movie was for children. If that was her angle, then...okay, come on. "Waaah, Tangled sucked because there weren't enough brutal disembowelments!" As for underrated movies: Go watch The Fall. It's about a stuntman in the 1920's who is hospitalized and unwittingly befriends a little girl and tells her some crazy stories and it's just pretty awesome with some gorgeous scenery. Redeemer
The Secret Garden is a beautiful movie. If you've read the book, then you'll be expecting some rather fancy environments due to the main character's background - you get it all in the movie. It's wonderful. :')

I don't think I made stuff up anywhere. Sometimes I just can't remember what color something was or whatever. Eagle - Fenix, they're both birds. I didn't know anything about this movie until I saw it. A friend kept pushing me to see it, so fine. I say it was not funny, predictable, unexcusable deaths, deux ex machina's all over the place. Thats what I say, that what I think, I say its a bad movie, its boring. The end.
Drasiana
"It's my opinion!!!" doesn't work when it's not your opinion, it's something you're stating to be true that ISN'T. Yeah, Tolkien did rely on deus ex machina a lot and I'm not going to argue with that, nor am I going to argue on the subjectivity of humor, but christ, don't smugly write off the other movies because "you've predicted them" when your "predictions" are not only wrong, but hilariously so. Try criticizing movies you've actually seen, and for things that were actually in them. Slightly more on-topic, has anyone seen the old animated Hobbit movie with the hilarious/horrifying character designs?

Slightly more on-topic, has anyone seen the old animated Hobbit movie with the hilarious/horrifying character designs? *sigh Once more. You want to surprice the audiance right? Even with a book movie you can, s good example would be Breaking Dawn P2 (spoilers) witht the aternative ending where almost every lead character 'dies'. That was not predictable. You don't want your movie to predictable, you want it to be surprising, different. The Hobbit was never surprising to me, like I said ''Every 2 seconds you get to predict the next 2''. Read carefully ''You GET to predict''. They just give you the future in the movie. They give you a 'dead' character, that white thingy that was the enemy of the dwarfs or something similar, where you don't see they actuall kill him. Who's mind doesn't immidiatly go to the fact that he's still alive and going to get them. I could predict the key scenes: fact The movie is predictable: opinion
Drasiana
Sigh So I'm not gonna watch the rest of this 'trilogy'. I can already predict they defeat the dragon anyway. They don't. Some other dude does, but at that point it doesn't matter. What actually happens is that everyone goes fucking mental and tries to kill each other in The Battle of Five Armies. Bilbo tries to make things right and doesn't. Thorin and his nephews are all killed. Bilbo goes home and becomes a depressed recluse. The-fucking-end. Do you see why I'm not taking your "waah this kid's movie is soooo predictable and no one dies" shit seriously yet? Also Azog being alive wasn't exactly supposed to surprise you, just the characters who thought he was dead. It's The Hobbit, not an Agatha Christie novel. Like wow congrats you predicted the thing that wasn't supposed to be a secret we have a regular Roger Ebert on our hands. What next? "Hey guys I think that ring has something to do with that giant fire eye lol totally called it"? And Breaking Dawn... Really? I'm also not going to take you seriously when you say that a series that spends its entirety jerking off over a botched interpretation of Romeo and Juliet is somehow "unpredictable" when it pulls out a non-canon ending where people die. Then again I figure you haven't read Romeo and Juliet because "ugh it's so predictable they're totally going to die in the end". Anyway I'm bored talking about this so unless you want to whip out another intellectual gem akin to the previously unresponded-to statement of "the soundtrack that was mostly orchestrations of the misty mountains sucked except for when they sang the misty mountains" let's feel free to just, y'know, stop. The Thing (1982) I just saw a double-feature screening of this with the newer prequel. I'd seen the Carpenter version ages ago but the refresher was nice. Can't say the new one holds up as well, though I liked aspects of it and the CGI wasn't quite as terrible as I'd been led to believe...though I was a little perplexed by their explanation as to why there was so much CGI. Apparently it was meant to be done practically, like the original movies, but when it came to shoot it none of the practical effects looked good and they panicked and went the full CGI instead. Did they...not...do screen tests or something? Ah well. The main character was pretty badass and they didn't fall into Female the Protagonist tropes so that was refreshing. It was kinda dumb when it turned into, like, Prometheus in the third act though...The Thing was meant to be a mystery more than a horror, with the gore only accentuating the overbearing suspense and dread. The prequel just kind of dropped that at the midpoint and turned into full-blown action sci-fi, which lost a lot of the charm. Also I can't handle Norwegians in Peril >8 Obligatory Bakshi Sam:

Why is it that yer so angry. It all comes down to that I didn't like The Hobbit, big deal. Its not like I said ''I hate The Hobbit''. I gave some reasons why, open to discuss why you don't agree, have a friendly disscussion about it, read something about another movie, discuss about that. You think its great? Thats fine, but don't complain when someone doesn't think the same thing.
Drasiana
I'm naturally snarky and far less angry than you probably think I am, and it's not a matter of defending things I like. If that were the case then I'd already have self-destructed for being a Star Fox fan. If you didn't like the movie that's okay, and I've said that over and over. My problem is with you "predicting" things that don't happen and criticizing things that didn't happen, and getting smug about it. But among other things, you still don't seem to grasp that I keep trying to end this conversation, so if you're not going to understand the concept of "make sure the stuff you're insulting actually happened", then try to understand the concept of ending a conversation when everyone else no longer wishes to take part in it. CONTENT: I am going to be sad if they don't do another X-Files movie. The last one was so disappointing and the series is still just kind of hanging in an unresolved void. IArmoredSnowWhiteI
I've seen 'I Want to Believe' very recent and I still need to watch 'The X-Files' on VHS. It doesn't have a subtitle, so I guess is the first movie adoptation. I Want to Believe was a good one, but it felt like an extended episode that was not so great. They shifted scenes (place) when there was something 'lugubrious' about to happen, which is very X-Files. I have also seen very similar stories in other media. Ã'd love to see a prequel or sequel to some episode in the middle of the TV-series though
Drasiana
The first X-Files movie was called Fight the Future, but yeah, you're right about I Want to Believe. It was just a really long episode, and it wasn't even one of the GOOD episodes. Plus it was a little weird that they said they did that intentionally, to get "new fans interested", but the character arcs were all related to William and stuff that happened in the show, so it made no sense to new viewers anyway I think the only part of the movie I really enjoyed was when Skinner appeared and started beating everyone up. They have expressed interest in making a third movie that resolves the plot, and I hope they do! I want to know what happened to Dogget and Reyes and Gibson and Marita and everyone else that was just kind of left hanging D: I guess Skinner is okay but HOW is he okay, given the state the FBI was left in at the end of the series?...that's a mystery. Sometimes I wish they'd just kind of retcon everything that happened after season five, hahaha...the plot kind of went off the rails once they started involving supersoldiers and astral babies. Or make a video game based in that time period! An extensive one, not like the weirdness that was Resist or Serve.

Redeemer
R3d and I watched Super 8 last night. It was really good! I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The monster reminded me of the Cloverfield tyrant, it was so impressive and horrifying. But then it revealed its eyes and I was like "great now he suddenly has personality". But it worked out, of course. I just enjoy a good old monster slaughter fest sometimes. XD
Star Fox Runner
I just realized that Skyfall is out on BluRay now! JOY!!!!!!!!!! I saw it in theaters and it instantly became my favorite 007 movie. I'm not going to spoil any tiny thing about it, just go pick it up and watch it, trust me. Next time I go to the store I'm picking that thing up immediately, especially seeing how I got the 007 50th Anniversary Collection on BluRay for christmas, now I have every Bond movie except Skyfall, I must complete the collection!
