Gatling gun?

I was just thinking about this a while back.

Why is a laser gun worse than a gatling gun?

It just doesn't make sense....  the laser is WAY more high tech and should be able to do more damage (just think about the abilities of the modern factory laser cutters that can cut through just about anything), while the gatling gun only shoots bullets.

I dunno, just something I was wondering about.

Laser gun? You mean the standard blaster? Or are you getting the laser gun from somewhere else? Because I don't think there was one on SFAssault

Picture the Gatling gun like a souped up Machine gun. Besides the Machine gun is better for clearing out crowds rather than the blaster. Laser gun may be just powerful but I reckon it has to take time to charge up and stuff.

All of the weapons in Assault were energy based, AKA shot lasers. So then you have to put it in logical order, the blaster is a standard sidearm. The Gatling Gun is a heavy weapon, so obviously it would be more powerful, like a real Gatling Gun would by far out shoot a pistol.

In terms of Star Fox Assault (and my opinion)

the "Machine Gun" also shoots bullets, along with the gatling gun...

The Blaster, Demon Sniper, they're pretty good too, the blaster has a 1-shot kill (provided you charge it) and it's rechargeable, has limitless ammo.

The demon sniper has 1 shot kills as well (but limited ammo),

so I'd say the laser sniper and laser blaster is more powerful, and lighter, although they're not good in an "outnumbered" situation, so the machine gun or gatling gun is great for flooring a crowd of enemies.

It all depends on what kinda of battle/situation you're in.

A gatling gun is too heavy, so I'd bring a laser blaster and a machine gun, both of those are good for combat.

Hypothetically, a Hyper-laser would be the best, it has rapid fire, multi-burst, machine gun style shooting characteristics, but it wouldn't have the 1-shot kill that can obliterate foot soldier or machine with 1 charged shot, but it's a feature I'd be willing to sacrifice. (In my opinion).

But if forced to choose between only a laser blaster gun or only a gatling gun (NOT a machine gun), I'd choose a laser gun.

I'd choose the Gatling Gun over a lazer any day.  Though lazers may cut, the gatling gun may be using more high tech bullets that work better....

And really, it can destroy a Landmaster in mere seconds.

Oh now I see. The blaster is okay I supposed for its ability to vary in damage and unlimited ammo. I'd still prefer the Gatling gun over than simply because of rapid fire capabilities and powered up ammo. Its like constantly firing a med.charged blaster constantly.

I think all of these weapons use some sort of plasma based round as apposed to lead rounds.

Bullets fragment, sometimes explode, after hitting their targets. Now imagine several dozen hitting the target in mere seconds.

he's got a poitn there  it could be  that  the gatling gun unlike the blaster uses the same power system as the blaster yet depletes it due to energy usage. but then again.... what are these bullet like things?  it  could very well be that the bullets are some sort of laser bullets instead of the explosive backed metal shell we think of as today's bullet.

The Gatling gun in Assault does appear to shoot lasers instead of regular bullets, so it's a really fast shooting blaster with... QUAD DAMAGE!!

So, for me, mostly playing multiplayer, I thought the machine gun was pointless, single player, its okay. But then one day, playing with a friend, I was in the landmaster, he was running around, he used the machine gun and it plowed the land master, so i figure, it's really just good for big things in multiplayer(it shoots to fast that enemies regularly become invincible for to long when shot, not worth it.)

... I just relized one flaw, he usually sneaks in a high handicap when playing, sooooooo this could be false philosophy.

Anyways, Gatling = AMAZING. But i really like Peppy's blaster, with 4* charge speed, it's so great.

Yeah, I said earlier that a Gatlink Gun makes short work of a Landmaster and destroys it in mere seconds.

or B: Plasma bolts.

The M-gun fires physical bullets.

The blaster and sniper rifle use energy blasts, lasers or other wise.

I'm still going with my laser bullet theory althouh it could very well be a rail machine gun.
