Star Fox: Lost.

[Asper Sarnoff]

"I don't like it any more than you." Wolf noted. He raised his head up and scouted around them. "The bird songs is gone. It is quiet. To quiet." He noted.

Then, a particulary large ripple in the water caught his eye. This one was to big to be just imagination.

It changed direction and started heading for them, increasing its speed untill it had created a several metres long wake after itself. Wolf pulled out his hunting knife and held it at the ready. It closed the distance fast, now it was only 30 yards away from them... 20... but then, the ripple suddenly died out.

"Group together!" Wolf shouted back at the others as he backed away. Whatever had created that ripple was now to far underwater to be spotted. He twisted his head around, looking in all directions for a sign of the attack he knew was about to come.

[Kursed]

Krystal stepped back  managing to focus on the creatures aura after it had gone deeper "How could it have gone deeper this mongrove isn't very deep."Krystal asked deciding to move around slowly instead of stand still.

[Asper Sarnoff]

"Believe me when I say it is deep enough to hide something nasty. Ever seen a 30 foot crocodile? They wouldn't have any trouble hiding here either." Wolf said as he started circling around the group, slowly not to cause much disturbance in the water, something which could trigger an attack.

Suddenly, he feelt something hit him like a ram in the knee, causing him to fall over, disappearing under the murky surface.

"WOLF! Oh shit!"

Falco tied a bowline at the end of the rope,

handed the other end to the others. "I'm going after him, pull us up!"

He then ran to Wolf, the bowline loop around his wist, and he went under. 

30 seconds later, he emerged, holding Wolf (and Wolf's knife).  "I got him!"

The others puled Falco and Wolf to safety. 

"DANG! You two okay!?"

"Good going, bird."

"I'm fine..how about you, Wolf?" Falco placed Wolf's

knife back into its sheath on Wolf's belt.

[Asper Sarnoff]

Wolf let out a series of loud coughs, tryng to get as much of the dirty water out of his body as possible.

"Something hit me." He stuttered out. Seconds later, the water exploded as dozens of long, slimy tentacles stretched out and whipped around, sending the survivors and water flying to all directions.

Wolf got on his feet again. He had clenched the knife in his hand around his knife as he fell, and he hadn't lost it.

"Don't let them snag you!" He shouted out as he charged at one of the arms and gave it a precise cut. But it only seemed to anger the creature, as more of the tentacles started to appear from the water. Each one a foot in width at the widest, pale pink and covered in slime.

Falco slashed at one tentacle, and Panther used his weapon on another tentacle, smacking the backside of it.  Fox fired a blowgun dart into another tentacle, then he reloaded and hit another tentacle, then reloaded and hit another tentacle that tried to get him from behind. 

"Let's get outta here!  Everyone, grab the rope and hang on, I'll lead us out!" Falco, still with the loop around his waist, proceeded to lead the others out as they held the rope, fighting off the tentacles.

[Kursed]

"PErhaps we should just leave it alone and RUn!"Krystal shotued after getting up and walking away from the creature.

Krystal ran up to Katt "Are you alright?"Krystal asked makign sure no tentacles touched her as she whacked them away with her staff

Falco ran to Katt, and helped her up.  "Katt!  Are you all right!?"

"We gotta be careful here."

Panther walked up to them.  "Folks buy them when they're small and cute..then they flush 'em down the toilet." he joked.

"That's not funny, Panther!"

Wolf grabbed hold of Katt and Falco and pushed them on. "Run! Get to da choppa... I mean, get to dry land!" He shouted. He then turned around to fend off a couple of the arms that were following them, one slid around his waist and lifted him straight up from the water and up in the air. "Can't let you do that!" He growled as he started to hack and slash at it with his knife. The tentacle tightened it's grip around him, threatening to break his back. With a last burst, he forced the knife into it, thick, black blood gouged out and sprayed over him.

The tentacle loosened its grip and Wolf fell trough it, down to the watery surface ten feet below him. Time seemed to slow down to nothing as the dark surface raced up against him. But after what seemed like an eternity, he hit the water in a huge splash.

Seconds later, he emerged from the surface and got up on his feet. He rubbed the mud out of his eye with the back of his hand as he broke into a clumsy run trough the mud. It was like a nightmare, he tried to run away from the monster, but it feelt like he was walking in sirup and could not get away fast enough.

Wolf grabbed hold of Katt and Falco and pushed them on. "Run! Get to da choppa... I mean, get to dry land!" He shouted.

Falco helped Katt to dry land, as Fox helped Krystal along to dry land, and Panther helped Leon along to dry land.  When they got there, Fox, Panther, and Falco rested, breathing hard.

"Everyone okay!?"

Katt felt as if her limbs were being sucked into the ground "Ah...somebody help me up," she grunted, feeling not too graceful or hygenic. She dug her foot into the ground and attempted to shove herself up.

"Trouble just seems to follow you doesn't it cat?"Krystal asked  helping her out.

"Trouble just seems to follow you doesn't it cat?"Krystal asked  helping her out.

Falco helped too.  "You got that right, Krystal." he chuckled at her comment, trying to make light of his fear and concern for Katt.  He didn't want the others to know how upset he was at Katt's current predicament, and that he didn't get there quick enough.

"Trouble always comes when you don't need it. Murphy's law." Wolf coughed as he dragged himself up the enbankment and up to dry land. "Excuse me for a moment." He snuffled as he walked away, kneelt down and threw up on the ground. He needed to get as much of the water he had swallowed out of the system as possible. Se he keept putting his finger back until his gag reflexes had pretty much emptied him, and the sour taste of gastrid acid was replaced by the sickening bitterness of gall.

Fox took a head count.  No one was missing.

"As soon as we recover, we need to press on!"

[Asper Sarnoff]

"The pup is right. We need to get to a safer place before nightfall." Wolf grumbled as he stood up again and walked in amongst the group. The trees were a little more sparse here, and he could clearly see that the sun was on the top of its path, middle of the day in toher words. He hoped they wouldn't face any more hindrances today.

[Kursed]

"If we face anymore problems like that we won't make it anywhere."KRystal noted as she trudged on.

As the group made it further up the path, Fox kept taking head count every so often of both his team and Wolf's team.

"How you holding out, Krystal?"

"Katt, you okay?"

"Fox who found who on a primative planet called Sauria?"Krystal asked.

"I found YOU on planet Sauria, floating in that crystal, as I recall, with Peppy saying "Fox! What're you doing!?  Have you forgotten your mission?  Get your hand outta your pants, and release that spirit." Fox joked, imitating Peppy's voice almost perfectly.

Panther and Falco laughed.

"yes but before that i grew up on that planet it's not much diffrent here except the monsters aren't as small.

"Ahh, I see...well, I asked that question...as force of habit...I care about you, Krystal."

[Kursed]

"you need to stop worrying So much."Krystal replied.

[Asper Sarnoff]

The ground was now starting to rise steeper and steeper as they marched on. And they were now using their hands nearly as much as their feet just to get further.

"This is going to get pretty dangerous soon." Wolf noted to the rest of the group. "The rocks seems to be volcanic. Loose and crumbling. We better tie us together like the boy scouts already did." Wolf hinted at Falco, Fox and Panther, which earlier had bound themselves together with a rope.

The fact that the island had been volcanic didn't surprise him much. How else would a huge rocklike this rise up from the sea? There didn't come smoke from the top of the mountain tough, so he was pretty sure the volcano was inactive.
