:katt:

Katt gasped inwardly and swept the back of her hand against her forehead, wiping off a slick layer of sweat. "Oh, thank Pete! Hopefully these are friendly," she joked, then surveyed the land before her. The building was tall and thin. Like a starved skyscraper, Katt thought, scratching behind her ear. "Do...do you think they'd have food? And if that's a building, I'm sure something must go inside."

"We don't know that Katt."Krystal muttered  closing her eyes in attempt to reach out to them with her mind...no luck "Thier too far for me to feel."Krystal noted opening  her eyes."If we do go that way I suggest we be cautious and let me do the talking I might be able to pick up on their language."

:wolf:

Wolf lifted a clawed finger and pointed downward to the island far below them. Around 15 miles north from their location, a strange shape protruded from the jungle. To thin and tall to be natural.

It was a tower of some sort. A man-made building. Wolf let his arm fall down by his side again.

"We're not alone here." He mumbled as mixed emotions raged trough him.

There were other, intelligent beings here, or it had been. The beasts that attacked them could never have built something like that. He feelt relief that there might be an early leave from this island, but also fear if the other people no longer where here.

:fox:  :falco:  :panther: "HOLY S***!"

Fox, Falco, and Panther saw the thin, tall structure where Wolf pointed.

:fox: "Whatever that is, it could very well prove useful in getting us the hell out of here!  But we gotta be careful how we approach it, and the situation regarding it..."

:falco: "Whatever the situation may be..."

:panther: "Hopefully, it's a situation favoring us!"

(You're welcome!)

:wolf:

Wolf snorted in reply to Krystals proposition. "Considering our luck so far, I guess they aren't friendly. We will under no circumstance just barge in to them without doing our homework first. We need to scout around first. Perhaps kidnap one to interrogate if possible." He took another look up at the sinking sun.

"We won't reach there before nightfall. I'd rather spend the night up here than down in the jungle. That's their territory. Let's get back to the plateau and prepare for the night."

"Already ahead of you Wolf."Krystal said already three feet behind Wolf walking back to the plateau.

The group made their way safely back to the plateu where they had left their equipment and food. There wasn't anything to make a fire out of up here, something which suited Wolf just fine. Now that they probably had shaked the mysterious creatures off their tail, they didn't need to guide them to them again.

Wolf opened up the rucksack he had made and started dealing out the fruits. With all the food and water they had brought, they would have enough for this night and for a tiny breakfast next morning. They would have to gather some more food on their way to that strange building.

He took a deep draught out of the water-filled coconut one sent him, before he found himself some of the fruits and plants he had gathered.

He suspected the diet would get a little repetative after a while. If they didn't find a way of the island soon, he would have to start hunting or fishing. The tought of a wild boar slowly roasting over a campfire made his mouth water. Wolf knew how to broil meat very well, and Panther was an excellent chef when he wanted to.

"Hrmm" He grumbled out loud. "If anyone got a guitar and wants to sing kumbaya. Then now is the time." He joked as he watched the sun slowly sink again. Illuminating the island in a beautyfull orange lightning. Wolf estimated they had a couple of hours before it once again disappeared below the ocean and left them in the dark.

"If we had found my staff I could entertain you all."Krystal muttered remebering something she pulled out of her  pack a Bamboo Flute and started playing a calming melody not very loud as not to attract anything.

Falco shared some of his food and water with Katt, then rested.

Panther took a sip of water, and rested.

Fox listened to Krystal's flute playing, with content as he lay on his stomach next to her as she sat and played.

:fox: "That sounds great, Krystal."

Krystal took the flute away from her muzzle "You learn alot alone on a primative planet like Sauria."Krystal replied putting the flute back to her mouth and playing.

Fox nodded, blinking back tears, at the sadness he felt for Krystal's plight.  He could empathize with Krystal, having lost his parents, he knew what it was like for her...he then got a hold on himself.

:fox: "It's beautiful..."

:falco: "Yeah.." Falco patted Fox on the back, comforting him, after hearing the sad undertone in Fox's voice.

:panther: "Mmmm...I wonder what other talents does this beauty possess?"

Leon hung back and leaned against a tree while watching the others, but Krystal's flute kept catching his attention thus causing him to wonderously glance over at her, then look away.  Soon, he pushed off the tree and walked over into a patch of sand and slowly sat down; pulling out his knife and slowly drawing lines that had no meaning.

After awhile of aimlessly drawing, he came back to the starting point of his drawing and showed a combination of both Starwolf's and Starfox's symbols.  He glared at it for a second, then wiped it away sourly.  "...As much as I just HATE working with these pestilant Starfox crew, it makes it worse just...  IMAGINING a future with both Starwolf and Starfo--"  He cut himself off, talking under his breath, and looked over at the group about fourty yards away.  "No...  A truce with the two organizations will NEVER happen in my book."  He silently hissed.  "Otherwise, I WILL take matters into my own hands and think less of the opportune events afterwards..!"  He looked back down at his wiped away symbol and tensed his scaly brows, "...Though it were not for my stubbornness, this would not be as difficult as it is...  Yet alone speaking to myself about matters I need to deal with."  He shrugged and kept staring at the partially wiped away symbol.

:falco: "Careful, Leon!  That kinda attitude is probably what got Andrew kicked out of Star Wolf.  Heck, it might have even gotten Pigma kicked out, too."

:fox: "I wonder why exactly were those two kicked out of Star Wolf?"

Fox turned to Panther, who shrugged.

:panther: "Don't ask me...they were long gone before I joined."

Leon annoying walked over to the three and leaned in close.  "To make it more easier for you to understand, Fox boy, then I'll inquire:  A swine is the symbol for greed and lust for power, while a primate is the symbol for annoyance and extreme stubbornness;  all of which the two showed tremendous amounts of."  He slowly looked over at Falco and gave him the same look he gave Fox.  "So, would you KINDLY keep your nose out of other peoples' businesses???"  He hissly asked, then looked over at Panther out the corner of his eye.  "As for you...  Stop being a ladies man.  It's humiliating for some of us..."  He walked off and leaned back on the same tree he sat against earlier.

I sure hope we get off this blasted island...  BAH!!  It makes me sick to my stomach that Wolf, Panther and I, all have to work with that team stranded with us... And that cat-girl...  URGHHHHH, just makes me want to TEAR all the scales on my body off...  Leon sourly thought as he tried to calm down from overreacting to the three men he blew off to.

"Hmm." Wolf grumbled. "The only reason Andrew got in on my team on the first place was on Andross request. That idiot was hopeless in the cockpit. Pigma was better. But he couldn't be trusted.

I and Leon left them behind at Venom when you defeated Andross. I tought they had died in the crash landing after you shot us down at that last battle. Leon at least got horribly wounded. His troath got crushed." Wolf took another sip from the coconut before he corked it again. "He doesn't sing like a god anymore." He added with a grin.

Leon sneered back, "And you also were not one with a godly voice, either.  Last I recall, I was in my bay while you took your evenings shower and flinching as you tried reaching those high notes as you sang in that shower."  He chuckled and shook his head at the memory.  "Heh, heh...  But at least being shot down is better than hearing a ruined record play as you try to focus on something."

Krystal took the flute away from her muzzle to talk. "JUding by the aparoid wars Oikonny is more annoying than slippy  what did he do to his voice permanatly infuse some Helium into his voicbox or something?" She asked then  began playing again starting a new calming tune.

Wolf laughed out loud. "At least I only sung good stuff. And not that rap crap Andrew used to listen to. And when we're speaking of him." He turned his attention to Krystal. "Not quite sure. My bet is that he finally reached puberty."

Leon held his hands out like he was holding two round objects and slowly moved his hands downwards.  "Hmmm...  I'm pretty sure they have.  But HEY;  it's better than sounding like a Panther wanna-be!"  He noted while snickering in Panther's direction.  "Kee, keee...  No offense, pal."

:fox: "You're tellin' me.  That fat bastard Pigma always clogged up the toilet when he visited us.  Mom always hated him..."

:falco: "Would you KINDLY shut up, stop being a brooding little bey-otch, swallow your pride, and just accept the fact you're stuck working with someone you hate, who hates you right back!?  For a space mercenary, you don't don't know squat about the business.  When I was a space hot dodder, me and my gang had to work with lotsa other folks we hated, when stuck in crap situations like this.  By the way, it's one thing to talk crap to your enemies, but Panther is on your team.  Why not take the stick out your butt, and at least quit taking your anger out on him!?"  Falco leaned back, amused.

:panther: "Gee...thanks...Falco, I guess...you know Leon, he's right, I hate to admit it, but Polly here has a point..."

:falco: "Polly!?"

  :fox: "Enough, you three!"

:wolf:

As the sun finally reached the horizon and started going down, Wolf was struggling to stay awake.

He had been on guard most of the previous night, and it had been a long, exhausting trip up here. But he didn't like the idea of being asleep and vulnerable if the creatures found and ambushed them again.

He yawned out loud before he said to the others. "Can anyone else take the guard this night? I need some sleep." Without waiting for an answer he grabbed hold of his rucksack and showed it under his head as a pillow. "G'night." he mumbled as his one eye close shut and he imediatly fell into a deep sleep.

He found himself wandering trought the swamps they had crossed just earlier this day. The same darkness, the same sucking mud, the same hostile silence. But this time he were alone, or where he?

He turned around, looking for any sign of the monster that had attacked them earlier, but it were nowhere to be found.

Then, he spotted something in the shadow of the trees. He couldn't see all to clear with only one eye, and where did the fog come from?

The siluete started to slowly walk towards him. Wolf let out a low growl as he pulled out his knife and prepared himself into a fighting stance. "Prepare to meet your maker, beast!" He growled, prepared to be answered by an angry roar and an attack. But what came instead shocked him.

A soft, female voice, all to familiar came to his ears. "Dad?" A gasp of surprise escaped from Wolf's lips as he recognised the person coming toward him. A young, gracious she-wolf, dressed in a white dress that waved slowly in the air, as if she were underwater, her bare paws didn't break or even leave a ripple in the surface of the water as she slowly walked closer. "We're worried for you dad." his daughter said with tears slowly rippling down her face.

Wolf holstered his knife and started making his way towards her as fast as he could. The waist deep water and muddy bottom slowed him down, but he forced his way forward.

His daughter raised her arms, as if she wanted him to lift her up and swing her up into the air as he had done so many times before. Wolf streetched out his own. They were slowly closing the distance between each other, now only around 30 feet remained.

The earsplitering bang of a gunshot reached Wolf's ears a split second after he saw a small fountain of blood rise up from his daugthers chest, and she started falling. The entire world slowed down to a halt as she slowly fell backwards and disappeared below the murky surface. Wolf let out a howl of terror and sorrow, but no sound could be heard as he reached the spot she had fallen and reached his arms into the dark water, searching for her, but she were gone.

His instincts told him to get out of the snipers sight, but he refused to listen to it. Nothing really mattered now.

He threw his head back and howled out his agony to the full moon. But there was still no sound.

Then, a shining bright light filled his eyes, and he quickly threw his head forward. The nightmare was over.

He was dreanched in sweat, and his heart was racing faster than he had ever feelt before. He leaned up and put his head in his arms, his breathing calming down, interrupted by low, pained sobs.

He lifted his head up from his arms again. All were asleep apart from the two guards sitting dimly illuminated in the moonlight. They hadn't heard him luckily. He dumped back down onto the rucksack. He tried to tell himself in his mind it had all been a dream, just a stupid dream. But the images of his daughter being shot keept playing before his inner eye, mirroring the scene when his first true love had meet her fate from a snipers bullet.

He doubted he would be able to sleep again tonight, and he figured with the tought of walking up to the guards and give one of them some rest. But he was still tired, the sleep couldn't have lasted for more than a couple of hours yet. He decided to try adn get some sleep again before a new day dawned.

Several hours later, just as the sun slowly started creeping up behind the horizon again, Wolf awakened. The others were still asleep, apart from the guards, which had been switched somewhere during the night. He rose up from the ground and streetched himself. Even being used to sleeping outdoors, the hard rock didn't do any favours to him, and he weren't as young as he had used to be anymore.

"It was nothing." Wolf mumbled as he walked by Krystal and up to the edge of the plateu. They would take a quick breakfast with what was left of the food from yesterday, but then they really had to get going.
