Vindr
The things I could do if I had the power to create my own video games...Nobody's gonna listen to me, but I gotta get this out...I had an idea, on a multiplayer shooter. The basic shooter setup. Only with a SOCOM like setup. You can switch from third to first player but each has it's pros and cons like visibility and aiming. Basic weapons, and what not. And the same aiming system as CoD 6. You spray everywhere unless you use iron sights. Some guns have perks. Like the M416 CQB has the 'Cutting Corners' perk. Where you can shoot around walls, Tom Clancy: Rainbow 6 Vegas style. The G36E has a 'Instant Sniper Rifle' perk, where your shots are slightly more powerful and the scope zooms in just a hair more, but it's single shot only.Of course, other weapons have other perks. And obviously, these specialties are limited and require a recharge time to use them again. In regards to the player. The model is fully customizable. Hats, uniform, camo, backpacks and everything. Unlike Combat Arms, where you have to pay for equipment. In fact, everything is free, it's when you level up when you can get better guns, but it's like a gun tree, where you can only pick one gun from however many others to use, and you can't change unless you level up again. The maps take place in urban environments, and some large space, indoor environments. In fact, the story is a horrible fan-fiction of mine full of rabid Krystal fanboyism, but we shall replace it with a better storyline that still takes place in the Notre Dame de Paris, the campus of Harvard, the hills and forest of Maine, the Grass lands of Zimbabwe, The Vatican city/Holy See, the inner Japanese Alps, and an arctic base in Antarctica. The only other thing you need to know is that the two teams in every game are called 'The Guardians' and 'The Hunters.' KyiMk2
What we really really need is another good space sim. No more Freespace or Starlancer's out there...Maybe the genre just ran out of ideas....I dunno.Maybe one based on WWIIish designs, guns instead of lasers.....realistic physics and ballistics....compelling, epic storyline?Psh, fat chance......Maybe something with more mass market appeal...Hey look over there another Sims 3 expansion pack! Sims: Uganda Nights! Decorate your corragated tin shack with dirty buckets and UN Wheat Bags.........Dress your Sim with "Donated" "Phillys 2009 World Series Champs" T-Shirts. Take up exciting jobs such as dump rummaging, matatu driving, or join a brutal rebel faction (If getting your hands chopped off by child soldiers wielding machetes seems unappealing, that is). But watch out for those naughty affairs with the neighbors, actually don't, they have malaria too.Yeah, that sounds like a winner. And it would -still- sell better than a new Space Sim game. No, I'm not jaded about how gaming has became watered down, not one bit >.>
Asper Sarnoff
Indeed. Something like this.I see. That view gives a whole lot more flexibility in level design. But gives up the possibility to get a closer look at the characters compared to a side scroller. The best would be if one could use a top-down perspective for most of the game, but it would automaticaly switch to a side scroller in important boss battles. You can also enrich plutonium for bombs, but don't get caught by the UN! Or else you will face economic sanctions. Have fun being everyone's favorite little megalomaniac, kiddies! I could even keep you up to date with my learning games and excersises if you like, but it would basicly be. "It's broke, It's broke, It's broke, I'm procastinating, It's Broke." "It's broke, It's broke, It's broke, I'm procastinating, It's Broke."Yeah, I've tried enough of simple game modding and map designing to know its all an endless circle of try and fail, try some bit more, fail a bit more, and so on.I'm fairly certain he was making jabs at the city of Seattle and the Goth scene there...it's a pretty "hipster" place right now, that and Portland.Maybe. I have barely heard of Seattle, and didn't know there was a Goth scene there anyway.

Guest FoXXX
So I'm sure everyone here has had an idea for something that they thought would be a great video game. What is/was yours?I remember when I was like 8 or 9, I wanted to make a game called "Koopa Kids Adventures", a Mario-like platformer where you play as the Koopa Kids to rescue your dad (Bowser) from an evil wizard (who had helped Bowser transform the people in the Mushroom Kingdom in the first Super Mario Bros. only to be betrayed by Bowser, and was now getting his revenge was the backstory.) Each kid had their own strengths, weaknesses, and powers. Geeky and childish, perhaps, but I still think it was a clever idea for a game!Star Fox Wii

StarFoxIII
Yes, you're right Sho' nuff . BOT, a DS or DSiware game that plays kind of like the old arcade game Qix would be kinda cool to play. If you've never heard of Qix before, here's a video of what the game looks like:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4g5AS3Y7AtAIn the DS Qix-like game, you'd draw lines with the stylus to create shapes and claim a specified percentage of the grid in each level while you try to avoid sparks, the unpredictable phenomenon (can't think of a better word) that moves around the grid and other hazards, just like in the arcade game! Although I might put a twist on the gameplay by making the levels 3-D ala 3D Tetris.
Hatsworth III
this Qix looks much like the minigame of the art class on bully.
