Miyamoto on Star Fox

Miyamoto, it seems, now loves Star Fox. I remember when he gave an interview to Nintendo power about SF64 years back and said that he "wasn't attached" to the series.

Now, he goes on MTV and says this when the topic of the series' decline comes up: "I'm a big fan of the Star Fox games. Every time we make a Star Fox game I'm hoping people will enjoy it as much as I do."

Now, my response to this is make another SF game at EAD. SFAd was too radical of a change, the effort into SFAs was poor, and SFC cad odd controls and a screwy story.

There is one thing he said that I am glad to hear: "But we still try to make them more fun and hopefully people will see the appeal in those games."

The series ain't dead, folks. This is hardly an announcement of a new game, but Shiggy, at least, has not given up on SF yet. Nice to hear someone with clout back the fox.

That sounds good in my ears. Not getting my hopes up to much yet, but Shigeru is one of those that can make it happen. Bless him.

Finally we see an official like the game! If he likes it, maybe the game will be better next time around. Not to say the other games were bad, but they have declined.

Actual MTV article: http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/10/27/mario-creator-talks-disappointment-with-star-fox/

Interestingly, the article implies that he wasn't directly asked about Star Fox, but rather if he felt that some series had gotten fewer sales than he felt they deserved.

I still think the series would do better if he had more involvement in a SF game instead of Nintendo farming the series out to 3rd parties.

I am surprised by this, so much for him not being attached to the series. Well this good news seeing someone up the ranks who likes the game, hopefully he will be more involved in the next game.
