Incoming gate transmission from unknown sector...

Showtime 1-1

How did I end up here?

A week ago, I was living in ignorance of the Starfox universe, but a couple gaming sessions and now I'm part of it...

None of you know me, and I know none of you. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am the leader of Showtime flight, Showtime 1-1. I used to be happy piloting my F-4 Phantom or F-14 Tomcat around Earth's atmosphere, but I now find myself in an Arwing, doing more then I ever could on Earth.

The MiGs over North Vietnam have been replaced by Wolfens over (around?) Sargasso, but as long as there is air combat, I will prevail. Charging lazers is pure wichcraft, and bombs seeking moving targets, doubly so. But I will learn.

For as long as I'm here, I'll feel like a correspondent for the air forces of Earth. So be it. Perhaps there are more like me here as well...

I look forward to being part of this community, and I only hope I'll be accepted.

You must have trained hard to even come close to being accepted, but you did more then train hard, you surpassed all expectations, because of this, I (although I just happen to be someone of little importance in such a great organization) accept you.

If by training hard, you mean managing to get my Tomcat through the gate, then that I did. Good thing I had oxygen! Those TF-30s have trouble with unstable intake airflow, let alone no air at all. I gotta figure out how to mount some rocket engines, and what's this G-diffuser thing I keep hearing about?

It's a Gravity-diffuser system, allowing you to, "Alter", or, "defy," gravity.

here is a quote from the reconstructed starfox64.com,

"Developed by Space Dynamics Co., Ltd., the Arwing is equipped with the revolutionary G-Diffuser system, an anti-gravity device which allows the pilot to accelerate or decelerate instantaneously and perform a wide variety of high performance combat maneuvers."

Whoa

gotta find a way to mount one of those puppies... soulds likely to blow a Harrier's thrust vectoring out of the water.

I wish I had one of those things when i tangled with those MiG-29s... I definetly would have had to alter gravity to out-turn those guys.

May I request what you plan on mounting, "One of these baby's," on?

Unless it has some sentimental value to you, I'd advise trading in that F-14 Tomcat, and throw in a bit a cash and get yourself a F-14D Tomcat, the TF-30's where replaced with GE F110-400 engines.

Ah, I see somebody found the interweb.

I plan on mounting a G-diffuser and some rockets on/in my trusty F-14A. You can't always get what you want, just as I didn't get the Generals put in my 'Cat. I do just fine with my modified intakes, and I'd beat any "maverick" in a D-model on any day back on Earth. It's all about tactics...

Ah, I see somebody found the interweb.

Mmmmm delicious wikipedia.

Anyways, Once you add the Diffuser system, it would no longer be F-14A though, be some other letter.

just as I didn't get the Generals put my Cat.

Also, I don't understand what your saying here...

General Electric engines. They whine. Nothing like the purr of a Pratt & Whitney. I'd much rather have a mean Cat that purrs then a nice Cat that just whines.

I might just have to leave my Cat behind, landing was tough. Apparently those Arwings don't need runways... If I can get her up again, though, she definetly won't be much of a Cat anymore.

Ahhh, General as in the engine, I thought you meant, like a General, that had plans for your cat(as in the kind that goes meow)

I'd rather have a nice cat that purrs, like my cat, well she doesna like strangers(she won't run away, she'll swat at em if they try to pet her) but she's nice ta meh, so it's A-Okay.

Hi,

flying a F4 or F14 must be one of the greatest feelings on this planet (although I prefer airliners) :) I started a commercial airliner pilot training a few months ago (I passed all tests), but had to cancel it due problems with money (the training costs 60000€ respectively 90000$). I'll try it in a few years again, hopefully at Lufthansa's training center, because they would prepay the whole training.

An Arwing seems to be a little bit different, especially when they switch of some fundamental laws of physics. ;)

It's not the first time I've defied physics...

Nice to see another atmosphere-based pilot here... and I am all too aware of the costs of even the most basic flight training. If only we had SF64's training system. That tutorial raccoon seemes to make things a lot easier.

Wow, a colonel. usually I have to do something dangerous or stupid before anybody above capitan gets involved...

ps- landing damage not too bad. You guys'd better watch your tails, 'cause the Cat will come back.

Ahhh another pilot to fly with. Welcome good sir to SF-O. Hope you enjoy your stay, and try not to blow our trainees out of the sky too quickly.

Thanks guys. I don't think I'll be blowing anybody else out of the sky 'till I get a real foothold here.
