rainfyre66
So my fanfic, "Darkness Rising", should be wrapping up soon here. My question is, what to work on next? I might do another SF fanfic, a sequel, prequel, or something that chronicles how and why Krystal became Kursed. But then again, I've had a couple of other non-SF ideas the past couple of days that I'm considering writing and posting in this section, would you guys even be interested? One is a more traditional sort of all ages fantasy/adventure (will update later today with the synopsis of that), or another story that is more of a comic book/sci-fi style fantasy (again, will update with the synopsis when I'm less sleepy and lazy.) Or should I just say screw 'em all and go back to working on my Escape From Pleasure Island project? Any suggestions are appreciated! :friends:
Guest Julius Quasar
I'd like to see you finish your Escape from Pleasure Island fanfic/screenplay.
rainfyre66
I'd like to see me finish that one too, the problem is, I really care about that one so I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to writing it, it's never as good as I want it so I talk myself out of working on it, and the task is a little daunting, as I was doing a "novel" version as well as the screenplay. Plus I'd gotten a bit of that dreaded "writer's block" (well, more like "execution block", because like most of my writings I planned out the whole plot in my head beforehand, then just have a hard time deciding how I want it to go on paper) But maybe since I've stepped away from it for awhile, it'll be a bit easier. I'd really like to finish it one day. The synopsis for the first mentioned fantasy/adventure (tentatively called "The Lost Princess") is about a 14 year old unhappy misfit girl on modern Earth that can't seem to fit in at home or at school. One afternoon she helps a disabled boy, unaware that her kind act will change her life and destiny forever. Her parents leave her home alone on that dark and stormy night, and she soon discovers that the disabled boy, Ratt, has followed her home to take her back to the place she supposedly belongs. He claims that she is the lost princess of the alternate realm that he came from, and he is there to lead her back to her destiny. She agrees, but soon discovers his intentions are much more sinister. Now she must find her way through a mysterious and surreal land, but is she trying to find her way home, or reclaiming the land that is meant to be hers?(Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Mirror Mask, and Zelda are big influences on this story, but I like the twist in that rather than the usual girl needs to save the land and find her way home plot point, she needs to figure out which place is actually her home.)The second story is actually two seperate plots that are tied together, right now I call it "The Twin Seeds", ripped off from Nights Into Dreams. Ryan Jenkins is an outcast teenager who has grown up in foster home after foster home, but still has managed to rise above his hardships and is eager to start a new life as he graduates high school. He doesn't know that his real life is really beginning when he meets a mysterious and attractive young woman who knows where Ryan really came from. She is to train him and help him realize his power before he can fulfill his destiny (much to the dismay of his female best friend, who is hopelessly in love with him).Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, a teenage girl wakes up in a land of oblivion, with no memory of who she was before. She meets two brothers who are to help her find her way in discovering who she is and what she needs to do to save the universe from a menacing dark force, but a key piece to the puzzle is missing...(this one has a more sci-fi/comic book action feel to it, with some humor and romantic story lines)I dunno, these hastily explained synopsises probably didn't do them justice. Too much I wanna do and not enough time. Hooray for nerdy ideas.

rainfyre66
And of course, big thanks to Julius for all his constant support too! (Sorry for the late shout out, didn't have a chance to post stuff earlier)I do really appreciate you and Kursed taking the time to not only read, but comment on the story and my other posts. (The story gets hits, so unless it's just from you two I wish the people that lurk on it would give a shout out or something now and then.) Asper Sarnoff
Sorry for coming barrelrolling in a bit late, as usual. That idea you came within the third post sounds interesting. But of course, do what you wants the most. Nothing is worse than grinding on something you don't really have the motivation for.
