Just a thread for stating and discussing your computer setup.

My setup:

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Quad core 3.42 Ghz

RAM: 4 gigs

Graphics Card:  Just an integrated 512 Mb with HDMI out, but I'm ordering a 1GB card soon

Hard Drive: 1.5 TB

Operating System: Windows XP Pro X64

DVD burner

Floppy drive (not hooked up yet)

Full Tower Case (master cooler Haf case) with 4 240mm fans and tooless hard drive trays

Power supply: 1000 W

Monitor: 24" Gateway with full HD

This is my first build that I just finished (except for the graphics card).  I decided to go all out on it and get really good stuff

ARWING (General Purpose Computer):

AMD PhenomII X3 710

Gigabyte  MA790GP-UD4H Mobo

2GB RAM (will upgrade to 6 GB soon)

Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT

CD/DVD Burner

Ugly white Yamaha CD Burner (I think it broke... It's the oldest thing in the case. :( )

Crappy RocketFish soundcard. Onboard was better, but lacked optical out, which I needed to hook up to my Home Theater. :(

WD 500GB SATA 3Gb HDD, 4 partitions OS/Programs/Data/Data (done to preserve file locations from previous machine which had 2 physical drives)

Thermaltake WingRS case (which is black with an ugly which busted CD drive in it....)

Corsair 450W PSU

Logitech G15 (new type) keyboard

Razer Lachesis Mouse

Logitech USB-powered stereo speakers

Logitech Joystick

Logitech Gamepad

Logitech Wireless Keyboard and mouse set for living room

Panasonic 42" Plasma TV set up as second monitor (older TV, only supports 720P, no 1080 :( ) (i like to watch my Netflix streams while laying on the couch...)

Yamaha A/V reciever set up as second speaker system

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

GREATFOX (Music Computer):

AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition

ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe Mobo

Hugenourmous heatsink that the fan on negates the noise reducing case I bought (go figure, ARWING is quieter than this thing and is in a cheap case).

4GB RAM (will upgrade when I up to a 64-bit OS.)

CD/DVD Burner

Crappy cheap ATI Vidcard (this is an audio machine, not a gaming rig)

M-Audio Delta 1010LT soundcard Audio Interface (this thing is awesome. Not too hot for gaming, but this thing blows all of the gaming cards out of the water in audio production)

WD 500GB SATA 3Gb HDD (x2, one with 2 partitions (OS/Data), second drive 1 partition entirely for samples)

Antec Sonata noise reducing case

Corsair 500W CPU

Logitech G15 (old type) Keyboard

Logitech M-BZ105A Mouse

Yamaha MG16/4 Mixer

audio patch panel

Lexicon MX200 Effects Processor

KRK Rokit 5 Studio Monitor Speakers

M-Audio Keystation Pro88 MIDI controller

2 Steinberg USB Product activation dongles

Windows XP SP3

Both machines share a Samsung Syncmaster 226cw monitor

These things won't win awards for fastest machines, but they definately get the job done. Arwing may be a little weak in the memory and GPU areas, but it runs TF2 at full settings without flinching, so I'm happy. Why spend $500 on a video card when you don't have to? And Greatfox handles everything I throw at it without flinching either. And real-time audio production can tax the CPU a lot more than any game can.

wolfen2 (netbook):

HP1010NR

Intel Atom N270

2BG RAM

On-board everything....

LG external CD/DVD burner

Fedora 11 Linux

Toshiba L355-S7915

3GD SBRAM

250 GB HDD

Mobile Intel Express Chipset 4 (Shaders are 4.0, it's the good intel stuff)

17" display (1400 x 900)

Integrated Number Pad

I can run Call of Duty 2 on this thing, and I can't wait to get The Orange Box on Christmas.

Nice! I'm using Intel GMA 950 for graphics, sucks LOL

Yeah, my friend has it (in a Dell XPS, of course) and it's not that good, luckily intel has picked up the slack.

He gets a very unstable speed running max resolution, and his monitor is huge.  (it's an all-in-one and thusly is a pain to upgrade)
