Red Faction Guerrilla Game Review

I just wanted to point out that even though this game was pretty good with the story (Some may disagree with me though) and the destruction physics with the building and vehicles, there were some bugs in the game that made the game a tadd bit less enjoyable.  For instance, when I smashed a whole entire wall down, Alec (The character you play as) would get stuck on some of the debris, thus causing his health gauge to go from full to a very small portion and then I'm killed by the EDF in an instant.

They had some interesting side-missions, but they became a little too repetitive, but they fixed that by adding small changes to the mission.  For instance, Heavy Metal is for holding off the EDF by destroying a certain amount of vehicles in a heavily armored vehicle; Tank, Heavy Walkers, or Attack Walkers for example.  The ones that had to make you think were the Demolition side-missions.  You had a certain time you had to destroy the building and using only the weapons they gave you.  I loved, and also hated, the one where I only had one Thermobaric rocket and 18 rounds of the Nanorifle.  The building itself was SOOOO freaking annoying to demolish that I actually HAD to look at the guide I got with the game to know how to tear it down.

Also, the vehicle physics are just WEIRD!  It's like EVERY vehicle you have has superb aerodynamics.  I can jump off a cliff with a dump truck-like vehicle and manuver it to land on all four wheels!  But the cool thing about the heavy vehicles, like the dump trucks and APC's, is that you can literally DRIVE THEM THROUGH BUILDINGS!  I can sit there for hours to come just backing up and flooring it through 12 story complex.  What saddens me is that you never got to pilot the dropships that flew over Mars every so often.  I know they were just plain annoying when you got a Red Light Level (Highest EDF level; similar to GTA's 6 star wanted level) and shooting down at you with either it's minigun cannons or RPG's.

*SPOILERS*  In the DLC, you played as Sam; the woman that helped you through most of the RFG campaign.  You played as her during her Maraurder days with her sister.  Although it introduced 3 or so new Marauder vehicles, new Marauder-style weapons, and more fun side-missions, the story was EXTREMELY short and the map wasn't big at all.  It was probably 2/3 the size of RFG's original story map and 97.5% shorter than RFG's campaign.

My overall rating for the game has to be an 8.25 out of 10.

I've played through about a little over half of the game. The destruction physics are very cool. Keep in mind that the game is set on Mars and not on Earth, idk if that has anything to do with the vehicle dynamics and the like.

Yeah, I know.  It gets a little too addictive by just destroying an entire building complex with just an iron axe and taking out the supports.  Plus, I know it's set on Mars because I've played the first Red Faction game, the Second one also, and the Guerrilla one.  But, yes, I doubt that has anything to do with the vehicles' dynamics on the planet.  But you would think that since it's almost 1/3 of Earth's size that the gravity would be a little bit less on the surface.
