Kit-Karamak
So I have a question. I'll ask you, then I'll tell you why I think this way and I want to see if anyone else wishes to help me back up this theory before I use it as 'historical reference material' in my next chapter of Reflections of Marcus McCloud. ......I think Krystal's people are descendants of the Krazoa, possibly the FIRST people to populate the Lylat System. Let's look at what we know about the series, thusfar. So I'm sitting here playing StarFox Adventures for the first time in ages...Okay... so we all know how it starts... Then Fox finds the staff, he beats up some dudes and Krystal says, "If you hear the message, the staff feels you're ready to be its master." Then you go and get the fire blaster upgrade... now...Most anyone could argue that Krystal found this staff ON Dinosaur planet and so she'd been using it since landing there to explore the distress signal... but the return argument is that it's HERS. A holographic message (or perhaps telepathic) plays TO Fox when he touches it. Slippy can upgrade it by installing an imagine shifter into Fox's computerized gauntlet, but it derives power FROM the staff, which then needs to be recharged (Yeah, I know, it's the game engine's system. That's using up your 'mana points' in a sense, or 'magic points' or whatever but... y'know... bare with my imagination here, LOL). Sauria doesn't have a lot of technology to offer except what Andross is providing to Scales. (Like the ship that ferries Tricky into the ice mountain region, Scales' galleon, which appears to have some sort of bio-weapon mounted hood ornament. Krystal and Kite attack that thing with a blue plasma blaster that Krystal fires up until landing on the deck of the airship. She's already lost her staff at this point, so I'm assuming it's a blaster... maybe built into her... uh... necklace or terra? LMAO) So obviously, the staff is a piece of technology that Slippy can later interact with using Star Fox's gear. (I doubt it's as simple as networking the gauntlet and the staff together via Bluetooth xD)So... long story short, one could just as easily argue that the staff is Cerinian technology. And since I wrote that it was on all my Reflections stories... and I've written myself into a hole in regards to the darn thing... it's going to stay that way in my story for the sake of remaining true to the rest of what I've written. OKAY! Here's what I'm trying to shoot at you, let me see if you're buying this or if you think it's kinda' SILLY. AHEM.When Krystal arrives... you find dinos laying all over the place. You blow up a wall, go inside and find another one on the floor. He's lying on the floor just inside the first hallway... and he says something about how the Krazoa palace has been left to the Dinosaurs for a "million years". Now, "million" is a pretty broad word. Like, for example, my grandfather is a million years old... but before I go and digress, let me beeline for the point. Okay, so we KNOW the Krazoa USED to live on Sauria, they left cities, temples, statues, technology, a palace that doesn't seem to loose it's shiny-floored luster after a 'million years'. (Hey it's shinier than the deck of GreatFox's bridge, and that thing only has 8 years of bachelor-style partying, pizza, aluminium cans strewn about, etc.) The ONLY TIME we see a "krazoa" talk to Fox... we later find out it's a hologram from Andross, to trick him into bringing the rest of the spirits to the palace so that he can try and use their power (which, as we all recall... backfires later, because the spell stones have been returned, so they now help the planet instead of helping Andross, which is also arguable since he suddenly flies away... perhaps they DID help him... instant resurrection to full power, perhaps?)... So these Krazoa, as a people, are not NECESSARILY 50 feet tall. Okay, now to the nitty gritty... Since Krystal's staff seems to be technologically compatible with Sauria and even recharges on local plant life... WOULD IT BE SAFE TO SAY THAT CERINIA'S POPULATION WAS AN OFFSHOOT OF KRAZOA BEINGS?! Is Krystal's race inadvertently RELATED to the earliest people of Lylat? Let me shoot a few things at you that helped me to come to this conclusion!Andross uses Krazoa technology to restore himself. Krystal recognizes him and is all, like, "YOU!" before he throws her into the reverse polarity tractor beam at the beginning of the game. Until he can get these spirits together and successfully use their power to revive himself... he seems to be holding Krystal prisoner with little ray guns on mounted rails that could, theoretically, be slowly drawing life energy from her body in order to keep himself from straight up DYING. Just like the spirits' power, he seems to be able to sustain himself on HER life energy. ALSO! She knows him... so perhaps he's BEEN to Cerinia... maybe Andross has even learned that the two species are genetically related...perhaps he learned ON CERINIA that he should come back to Lylat and hide out on Sauria in order to revive himself? So that begs the question... Is Krystal related to the long-gone Krazoa people? NOW... let's look at, in my opinion, the most COMPELLING reason to say that Krystal's people were related to these ancient Lylat dwellers! ....She's genetically compatible to breed with Fox McCloud. BAM! Boom Shaka-laka! Booyah, even. Lylat DNA. Kinda' like how scientists tell us that the Native American peoples were genetic offshoots of Asians about 30-50 thousand years out, based on DNA results. Why do we first see Krystal wearing seashells and a loin cloth? Well, we know that Dinosaur Planet was a completely different game before Nintendo asked Rare to give it StarFox spin... but we can easily explain it away by saying, "Hey! It's a jungle out there! A flight suit is damn heavy and stuffy for that kind of humidity! She made something comfortable to wear, not knowing there were any good looking bachelor foxes in the area until after her capture! xD Can I get your opinion here? The holograph that we see of a 50 foot tall Krazoa isn't proof that they were 50 feet tall, especially since it was Andross' hologram... after all, how would 50 foot tall dudes have fit into their own palace? Their own temples? Their own subterranean staff upgrade rooms? Who is to say all those tentacles weren't some sort of genetically designed flesh-to-flesh-made breathing apparatus because they'd polluted their world beyond ruin and had to flee... (And a million years later, the planet's ecosystem healed iteself) Then, after then ran, they settled on Cerinia in the next sector over? A million years later (or less), after refocusing their mentality... they build up their telepathy (which was given to us by Namco... I guess to explain how she's able to talk their language AND to the Dinosaurs. Then again, Namco seemed to reach towards Star Trek The Next Generation for a lot of their ideas... maybe they wanted to base her off of Diana Troy, hell if I know) so now... they're known as telepathic. SO YEAH... HOW ABOUT IT?! Krystal's race is an ancient descendant of Lylat's first people and that's why her staff has ties to Sauria. The only OTHER thing I can think of is... that it's designed to incorporate other technologies from other planets, but hey... then again... I don't recall seeing Krystal have her staff when she visits GreatFox at the end of the game... so maybe she DID leave it there and that's why we never see it again in the series? But like I said, I've already made it an important subplot device and an integral component in my six story series... it's too late to change things now, right? XD Anyone have a theory, or does anyone out there subscribe to mine? I wanna make sure my idea isn't STUPID before I turn it into an important part of the Reflections series. xD-Kit
Kursed
umm well first of all i don't think Krystal's race is a decendant of the Krazoa rather another species that knew of them.. other than that uh....oh by the way what do you think of my edit of your title page? Kit-Karamak
lol it's hot. Makes me think of Freebird's second verse. xD But see... what if Lylat people and Cerinia people actually shared the Krazoa as million-year-apart ancestors? It would explain how Fox and Krystal are able to create Marcus and why they're both anthro, lol. I just need to know if I were to use that angle... would people go, "WTF THAT's SO DUMB!" or not. Guest FoXXX
You know, I still think that Andross was the one who destroyed the Cerinia people, since Krystal was the only survivor, and she seems to have recognized Andross before she was thrown into that energy and being trapped. Now about Marcus (Let's hope he isn't part of canon along with the rest of SFC) It didn't take a miraculous miracle from God for Fox and Krystal to have a son, their both Foxes... Kit-Karamak
Well yes, but I'm asking this because I'm looking to tie up some historical stuff in my story and I think it would be a pretty intense way to add a dash of complex fact to my non-canon story, but I just want to know if people would find it interesting. I also think that Andross had a great deal to do with the destruction of Cerinia but since it cannot be proven, Krystal doesn't know WHAT to belief, which is why she temporarily comes to Andross' post-humous defense about the legacy device on Titania when speaking to Fox in one of the many paths of SF:C. I know many of us may hate any particular game for any particular reason but... unless it's later retcooned, we're stuck with Nintendo's latest directions of our characters. To a degree, since fan fiction gives us whatever we want to a degree.Anyone else have an opinion about my long-winded first post, here?

I'd rather have Namco make another SF with all on foot missions then to have Command part of canon.
Kit-Karamak
On that note... most likely, they'll make ONE of the endings Canon... where Fox and Krystal resume a relationship, Amanda joins the team and they get back in business with all of Star Fox... meanwhile, Dash Bowman becomes ruler of Venom. All the OTHER endings were just to extend the replay value and to satisfy other players who prefer sad endings or off-the-cuff endings. But I think that's probably debated in a bunch of other topic threads, No worries, Nintendo KNOWS that it's going to be all about "" for a long time, and there will be more Arwing adventures for the Wii soon enough. Besides, they were going for ratings. Most seem to think that love triangles sell. is now the most popular Nintendo Character love triangle out there, and in VERY DISTANT second, you've got Mario, Peach and Daisy, LMAO. Kursed
Yes! That's what this thread is for... I want opinions on my argument involving those worlds. What's your idea? I'd love some good counter conversation on the matter. Cerinia Is more advanced than Corniera or anything in lylat even today ,but Cerinia was a normal planet with the main city containing all the highly technological buildings and the Palace where the great King Burranetto rules with his kind heart. the farther you get from the city the more ancient the buildings become however all of Cerinia Posses technology like Televison and telephones and stuff like that. Krystal's staff is a Cerinian Design Krystal somehow broguth it with her to sauria weather it was sent with her or something like that. Krystal can charge it with her own energies however it is capable of absorbing other types of energy (Like the orbs on sauria)And so what of my edit of your front page?
Kit-Karamak
Agreed. Cerinia is ...was... very advanced. When Krystal crosses paths with Scales, she attacks the back of his airship with some sort of plasma burst that is end-over-end ten times better than Fox's blaster in Assault. So far you've got Cerinia exactly how I've envisioned it. But since the staff is so heavily integrated in Sauria... you find places around the planet that shoot the staff with a lightning bolt and BAM... new power up... so I'm thinking that somehow... the Cerinian people still have ties to their technological roots when they settled Cerinia a million years back (give or take a few hundred thousand in any direction), so this very old staff might just have ties to Ancient Krazoa technology, yeah? Kursed
No i think it's krystal's and it's only as old as her. the zapping thing was just a dramtic scene to 'teach' fox how to use the staff. perhaps Cerinian Technology is close to that of the Krazoa. Kit-Karamak
Each time you get a powerup, you stand in a room of water, surrounded by powerup plants. Fox raises the staff above his head and lightning comes from an emitter in the ceiling, striking the top and bottom of the staff. That's what I meant by... you know... It's a far more complex way of transferring data, or ...at the very least, giving the staff a new FIRMWARE update with new capabilities... at least far more complex than, say, syncing it via bluetooth or wifi and sending data / information to it. So... maybe it's designed to interact with the ancient Krazoa computers... and that's just... how they did it a million years ago. xD With... ONE POINT TWENTY ONE GIGAWATTS! Great Scott!! Good thing Fox is wearing good rubber-sole boots, right? When he got back to Great Fox, he had to use THREE dryer sheets on his clothes, just to get out all the static cling! Kit-Karamak
Hey, they're starting to research making computer chips out of flesh that expands as it is filled with data... I'm pretty sure the outside of her staff is metallic but... that COULD be a pretty neat and unique thing to implement... having Krystal's staff its own entity capable of telepathic stuff, the way it beamed a message into Fox's mind and all. OBVIOUSLY one thing is for sure... it's a technologically advanced piece of hardware. The tip opens and closes. You can expand the battery to hold more juice and program it to do various tasks. It can interface with Fox's computer gauntlet and provide power for him to holographically change into a sharpclaw. It can shield you from virtually everything. It can absorb lighting from Krazoa technology centers in order to update... it can glow with a blue fire in your palm without burning you... it can beam telepathic messages pre-recorded from Krystal directly into your frontal lobe. (Or has a holographic emitter IN it, which displayed her head... which would MAKE MORE SENSE, since you later utilize it in Slippy's upgrade to look like a sharpclaw. Perhaps he just used the interface in the gauntlet to reprogram the staff's holoemitter wirelessly huh? Wowzers. The sharpclaw 'image' that the staff uses to cloak fox is merely saved as a 3D-JPG file inside of his gauntlet. xD) Either way, it's a badass piece of hardware that Krystal never uses after leaving that planet... at least not in the series thusfar. Maybe she couldn't charge it after that?

Kit-Karamak
Well, in my story, Krystal put it away in a display case. She uses it in Reflections of Krystal but she doesn't take it out very often. Marcus winds up with it. I doubt Fox would hide it... he'd probably just use it to hit Tricky and anyone else in Lylat who annoys him. xDDD

Kit-Karamak
Obviously a non-nintendo game. I recognize the flipping mod for MP, as well as the MP2 engine. Neat. The voice work needs a lot of help, especially the boss scenes with the guy laughing at her... He sounds like a guy speaking his lines into a mic in a vocal booth, not like a guy locked in combat, lol. Ah well. It appears to be far from finished so there's lots of time for the makers to fix stuff.
