The Mysterious Poster in Star Fox Adventures

Chrono Reaper

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been able to get a clear view of what the poster looks like in the Star Fox Adventures video game?

The poster is basically shown on the left side of the bridge doors. On the main screen, it is between Fox McCloud and Peppy Hare. In the main video game you are able to vaguely see it when ROB goes back to his station after Slippy had worked on him. Other than that little is clearly shown about it.

A group of single, male mercenaries. Of course they'd have a poster girl on the wall for their viewing pleassure!

There was a topic some years ago about that poster. Mr. Krystal's first post btw.

But none of the photos of it are sadly up anymore.

Could anyone who have the original files try to upload them again?

and you wonder why they don't show Krystal having problems in a all male team...

Or Fay and Miyu in starfox 2

I don't remember where I saw it, but a couple of years ago, I ran across a clear image of it.

It's just a random pinup calendar, really. The text says "Foxy Love" or something like that, and it is next to a bikini-clad vixen. Underneath is a grid consistent with a calendar.

I would expect nothing less from a all male team...

Ah, the dawn of an era... :P

to tell the truth, I'm surprised that they didn't edit that out of the game. A happy mistake, perhaps? It does make sense, though. As it's been said,

Heh, Rare managed to put a LOT of innuendo in their games, if you play Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie, pay close attention and you'll see what I mean. Also, Conker's Bad Fur Day, 'nuff said.

I think that the only way we shall ever get to actually CLEARLY SEE this poster, is if someone goes into the game's source code, and rips out the file containing the picture, I honestly would do it myself, but I know jack squat about hacking and source code.

And I would fly like an eagle! If only I knew how to.

But you're right. The only way to get a proper look at it would be trough diving into the code itself.

Haven't Mr. Krystal said something about that he would make an attempt? Or am I mistaken?

I think I may found a way to get a clear screen shot using a slow motion feature. I'll try and post it up if I'm able to get it.

Actually I got a copy of the iso from my bought copy of Star Fox Adventures. I'm hoping to get a hold of a gaming archive tool to extract them because all the general Archive programs wont read em. If I'm lucky I can retrieve the Poster texture.

I know what folders will have it if any of you like to have a shot of it.  I extracted the iso copy from the game I own and found a folder under "greatfox" inside there are object folders and two texture folders, one called "TEX0" the other "TEX1". they are both in an alien .bin archive that is not recognized by normal archive programs. They need special game archive programs to browse them in an explorer window.

Like I mentioned I'll be willing to send you a copy if you know what you are doing.

EDIT: I'm hoping to successfully extract the actual poster and put it up here.

I'm sure that WinRAR can read .iso files if that is the file type.

As I mentioned

I have already extracted the .iso copy from my bought copy. Inside the iso however contains alien .bin , .tab and blorb files. The bin files contain all the raw data, (with some help of a special gaming archive programs or some elbow grease HEX coding), it can be viewed and extracted through an explorer window. But as I mentioned I have exhausted almost every method, including mounting the data to treat the bin as a volume. Anybody with hacking skills or someone with special gaming archive programs who would be willing to give a crack at these is more than welcome.
