Star Fox Runner
Only been back in school for 2 days, and already we are getting snowdays here in Missouri. We got a big Blizzard last night and it canceled school today, and I just learned that its staying closed tomorrow too. I'm not necessarily happy with this, several things involving a project with our school's show choir have been pushed back when they can't afford to be thanks to the snowdays. (I have become the group's "publicist" so to speak for the annual invitational.)

Guest Para Astaroth
News said we're having snow in South Carolina, never believed them; people at school said we're having snow, didn't believe them; watched the news last night and showed that it was going around us, Lexington County, and spreading off, I laughed my a** off. According to local news, this is the coldest its been here in Missouri since 1999, over a decade. AND IT IS COLD!!! Especially the wind chill. Missouri has crazy weather. Lightning storms, humid heat, and tornadoes in the summer. Ice storms, blizzards, and blistering cold in the winter. On the flip side, when its nice out, Missouri is one of the most beautiful places you can be! DZComposer
We don't get much snow in Central Texas. When it is cold enough for snow, there is no precipitation. When we have precipitation, is is not cold enough for snow. If it is both cold enough, and there is precipitation, it is sleet. In the rare event that snow falls, it melts on contact with the ground, and even then it always seems to fall 30 miles north of me. :banghead:

Asper Sarnoff
I like the winter, so it isn't much of a problem for me. Except for a couple of days ago when I had a puncture on my way home, and had to change tires in -30 celcius. I couldn't move my finger much after that before I put them in warm water when I got home.

rainfyre66
Last year, we actually got oh, 1 or 2 inches of snow in a freak "snowstorm" and it practically shut the city down (we don't normally get snow, ever. If it does snow, it's just the rare snow flurries, and that's like the top story on the local news for two days.)I swear, where I live is like a real live version of Springfield on The Simpsons, the civilians are just as fickle (fans of the show will know what I'm talking about). They'll be saying, "WE WANT SNOW! WE WANT SNOW!" Then, as soon as we actually get some snow, they panic and are like "BOOO, SNOW! DOWN WITH SNOW! LET'S BREAK ITS LEGS!" I can say that it might snow longer in Iowa, and you might face flooding in the spring from all the meltwater.

DZComposer
Oh, so you live in Texas too? :3 I live around the central part as well, but in my town a couple weeks ago we got a few inches of some nice snow. It was lovely, but short-lived, since it basically all melted the next day. Today and tomorrow we're also supposed to be hitting record-low temperatures.I live on the I35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio. Based on what you said about the snow, I'm gonna wage a guess and say you're north of Austin (we only got sleet down here...).
