Star Fox: The Next Generation Chapter 1

[Asper Sarnoff]

A few seconds of embarressed silence followed before Freya decided that she could just as well start putting Attila trough a real test. "I'd like to see how you fly before I accept you on the team. Do you have your fighter close by?"

"I Can clearly see that."Kari replied "let's hurry then the sooner we get this resolved the sooner Corneria will look like it use to."

The group flied into Corneria City and parked the craft in a less populated area. They then moved to a bar in town, in hooded coats to protect themselves from the acid rain. The girls sat a table in the far corner while Tiberius sat at the bar. He ordered a drink. "can I see your ID?" said the bartender. He gave him the fake ID. He looked at it for a second, and spotted something. Tiberius thought he was caught, but he didnt flinch. The bartender was testing him. "Alright. You're clear, son. What would you like?" "Scotch, on the rocks." "You got, bub." he said. In a few minutes, he handed him the drink and Tiberius payed the tab.

With an earsplintering crash, something large came barging trough the front window of the bar and fell down on the ground behind the table where Tiberius sat. It was a big, brutish looking bulldog, which where now lying unconcius there, tought witouth any mayor injury. From inside the bar one could hear a veritable flood of angry outburst from the restaurants owner as another man jumped out trought the window and landed gracefully on his feet. It was a young wolf. Tall and judging from the broad shoulders, not one to mess with, as the bulldog had learned the hard way. "Sorry for the mess." He spoke to them before casting a glance at his downed opponent. "Just this troublemaker I had to take care off"

From further down the street, sirens could be heard as the police where on their way. "Sorry, but I'll have to go. Ma'ams." He greeted to the girls before he jumped over the bulldog and started running down the street, away from the sound of the sirens.

As the police cars thundered past and their sirens started to weaken as they continued down the main street, Odin stepped out of the shadows from a dark alley. That had been to close for comfort.

He was really annoyed by the course the recent events had taken, all because of a stupid bulldog which were spoiling for a fight. Well, he had sure got it now.

But he would have to be more carefull from now on, not only would he be most unwelcome at Tony's again, but due to the security cameras in the bar, they probably had a picture of his face.

He would have to go under the ground for some time now untill things started to calm down. He figured with the idea of leaving Corneria, but as he didn't have a spacecraft himself, and he was now a wanted man, that would mean resorting to smugglers, which he despised. He would have to think of something.

The three persons he had meet outside the bar keept pushing their way back into his conciousness. He knew he had seen them before, but where?

Then it struck him, two of them where the McCloud children. What where they doing here?

He decided that as he had eaten a bit before he had to leave, and didn't need anything right now, he would follow them around for a while and see what they were up to.

(well since Tiberius is the leader of the Starfox recruitment and the person driving I can't do much other than post what Krystal is doing on Cerinia)

(I'm sure Tiberius is enough of a gentleman to let the ladies take the iniative as well. What about if one of your characters excuses herself that she needs to go the lavatory, but really goes looking for that strange guy who barged trough unnanounced?)

(That telepathic connection? I find it hard to understand why any of you even bother adding telepathic abilities to your characters, as it gives such an huge advantage in every situation, and thus make the game, yes, a roleplay is a game, to easy to be any fun.

But enough ranting from me. I'm sure they should prove resourcefull enough to trick Tiberius if they wanted to. Telepathic connection or not.)

Kari nodded and got up as she started to look for someone she had seen before that left.

From the shades of a dark alley, watchfull blue eyes followed the young vixen.(Did you post a characacter sheet for Kari Kursed?)

He figured with the tought of stalking her to to possibly discover what they where out after. But then it struck him that she probably had some of the telepathic abilities of her mother, and she would sense him. He had received some training in blocking and combating telepaths from his father, but not enough yet.

Once again, he opted to be impulsive, jump in it and hold on, a method he had discovered was actually more likely to succeed than a carefully laid out plan.

He walked back into the alley untill he was out of sight from the main street before he broke out into running. He took a left into another backstreet running parallel with the main street and ran along it for half a minute before he took another left and came into the alley heading back to the main street again.

He counted the seconds, calculating how much time she would need at the pace he had seen her walking before she appeared round the corner, and when he finally stepped out into the main street, his calculations proved to be correct. The young vixen almost bumped straight into him before she stopped and looked up at him suspiciously.

"We meet again young lady." He spoke to her, only after realising how cliche that sounded. "I were just wondering, and hoped you would indulge me, in why the offspring of Fox and Krystal McCloud wander around Corneria City like this?"

"We're looking for new members of Starfox ,but i don't think you'd be interested since most people here seem content on this garbage dump of a planet."KAri replied walking around the wolf "And I'm much more dangerous than I look."She added as she walked down the street she hadn't used her telepathy on him yet she wanted to save that for when she needed it since she wasn't as good as her mother with her powers.

Odin turned around and started walking alongside her. His long strides made him it look like he wasn't even interested in following her, which was a point he wanted to make. "New members of Starfox huh?" He noted casually. "If anyone else than the daughter of Fox and Krystal had said this, I'd laugh them in the face for trying to fool me with such a dumb trick. But now that you say it, I migh just be interested in hearing more."

"Well then you better follow me Kari replied still not reading his mind she'd save it for a more 'relaxing' place. She turned around and walked back to the bar were Alex (Alessia is Alex. Alex is her nickname.)

"Hmm, I don't know how much of that little fight you caught eye of, but I doubt I'll be welcome there anymore." Odin answered as he keept pace with her. "If you want to talk with me about it, you, and your brother only, can come to "the hog" downtown at twenty hundred hours today. Believe me when I say this is an opportunity you can't refuse. You won't find a better freelance pilot anywhere these days."

And with that, Odin broke of, and imediatly disappeard into the shadows of the backstreets.
