Star Fox: The Next Generation Chapter 1

Her head jerked up, startled by his words. Odin shifted uncomfortably, thinking that maybe he'd get yelled at again. Instead Freya stayed quiet, colour rising in her cheeks. She prayed that her fur colour was dark enough to disguise it.

"Yeah, what the hell was that anyways?" she snapped, trying to sound angry about it. In reality, the kiss that she'd shared with him, impromptu or not, had been constantly on her mind, if not poisoned a bit by the fact that she'd been bound and gagged at the time.

(It was Odin which was immobilized at that moment. http://forums.starfox-online.net/index.php?topic=5490.msg162422#msg162422 )

Odin tought over it for a second before he answered. "What it was?" He answered, turning to face her fully. "I'm not sure really. Perhaps it was just to prove you weren't as on top of the situation as you tough? But mostly, I think it was because I..." He sighed out loud, shaking his head a little. "I'm not entirely sure of what to say Freya. The memories of the kiss have stayed with me all since then. But still, I don't have words which to describe what I feelt."

(oh crap, you're right, sorry >.<)

She watched him as he squirmed, interested in every minute detail. He was dancing around something, and Freya wasn't sure she wanted to hear it. She put her hand up.

"Well, if you can't describe it, let's not. You don't know me at all, so let's not pretend it... um, it meant... anything."

The look of dissapointment growing on his face made her want to squirm too. She got up and did a quick pace around the room. It was strange, usually she was able to stay calm and cool under every circumstances, but this Odin manage to get under her skin with just a look. She'd hadn't exactly grown up in an atmosphere condusive to... closeness, but that little flicker of a smile that seemed to appear on his face whenever there eyes met, made Freya suspect...

"I don't know about you, but i don't feel like staying another night in this ice box." She turned to him with mischief growing in her eyes.

Steve left the room with Liutenant, then said, "See you later, gonna go repair my ship"

Minutes later Steve arrived near his ship, opened the cockpit, got the toolbox, and went to work.

Liutenant went to work on his ship,

too. He wondered if he should send

a message and call for his Amber Cat,

too...

It looked like Odin was somewhat satisfied with getting away from that odd silence after he had tried to break a little of the ice that separate them. Ultimately, they would have to find a way to get out of this place. He could possibly get Starfox to come and bail him out sooner or later, unless Fortuna had a deal with Corneria in regards to interplanetary criminals, something he doubted they had. But, Freya didn't have it that easy. They would surely not going to let her get in contact with anyone who could bring the message to Starwolf, and unless she could find a way out herself, she was stuck here.

He got up on his feet and walked around the confined space of the cell for a while, stopping to shake a little in the bars over the windows, testing their strenght.

"How's the hygenical conditions in the prison?" He suddenly asked Freya. She looked puzzled at him, as if she tought he was mad.

"Once a week, we got a small chunk of soap and a bowl of water along with the normal ratios of food and drink. They also send in a portable stove, which to warm the water slightly in." She answered. "Tomorrow will be the next time." She still looked at him, clearly confused.

Odin nodded thoughtfully in response. "Good. That's all I need." Satisfied, he once again sat down next on the matress closest to bars separating them, leaning back against the wall.

Truth was, he didn't feel as calm and collected as he tried to give imperssion of. And it was Freya who caused it. Never had he feelt so shaky and unsecure of himself as when he shared cell with her. It was like his legs were made of jelly, and barely could keep him upright. His heart was thumping harder, louder and faster than usual. Any more now, and she'd be able to see it from the other side of the cell.

As Steve was repairing his ship, a sudden thought hit him. He wants to find out if Star Fox is really that bad. He knew he isn't supposed to do this, but Steve thinks that this deserves investigation and detective work. Maybe tonight, Steve thought.

Liutenant worked on his ship

silently... For the most part,

he was thinking about recent

events; he voluntered to help

bring order to this part of the

Galaxy, but, was after all, Mr.

Malon, the lawful person

he expected?... He decided to

continue working on

working on his ship.

Guest Julius Quasar

Cliff and Attila were living it up in their new palace, which they had seized by force from Hurkha the Toad.

Cliff was drawing a mustache, glasses, goatee, and devil horns on Hurkha's portrait, and wrote a cartoon speech bubble next to Hurkha's face saying "I'm a Butthead!".

Attila was relaxing in Hurkha's massage chair, as he chewed up one of Hurkha's magazines, there was already a huge stack of Hurkha's magazines and catalogues next to the massage chair, all of them already chewed up by Attila.

Freya cocked her head, staring at him like he'd lost every brain in his head. He just smiled knowingly

"So are you going to let me in on your clever plan?" she asked. He shook his head, then settled back down and closed his eyes. It was late, and no doubt that was a hint to her that she too should get some rest, that tommorrow would be an exciting day. The lights went out without warning, and she laid down on her cot, trying to sleep.

Odin was already out. She could see his chest rising and falling slowly, hear his rhythmic breathing. She couldn't help but wonder what it would be like for there to be no bars between them, to be able to put her head on his chest. She wondered what it would be like to fall asleep to someone else's heartbeat.

If only there were no bars between us...

Her whole body shook with the jolt of coming back to her senses. She rolled over, put her back to him. She didn't look at him, tried not to even think of him, again that night.

A rhythmic banging caused Odin to awake from his sleep, immediately getting up and looking around for whatever created the sound. It only took him a few seconds to realise it was the guards patrolling the prison hallway, letting their batons ride along the cell bars as they walked by.

"Up an rise sunshine!" The guard shouted as he walked past the door into their cell. Odin let out a loud yawn, stretching out after the night on the hard matres. He took a quick sideglance to Freya, which had also awakened at the same time.

Her eyes were shut, but he could clearly spot that she was awake, just a bit drowsy. Her tail was curling around a little, and the smile on her lips made her blossom and look so breathtakingly beautyfull that Odin felt like his heart was going to burst.

How would things have been if he had accepted her offer to join Starwolf? Would they have been together by now? Perhaps, as the recent events had unfolded like they had, maybe this could still become reality on day.

Then, she opened her eyes, and they immediately found themself looking into each others eyes for a few seconds. She seemed a little, embarrassed, somehow. Little did Odin know she had unconsciously turned around to face him during the night.

Finally, he broke the silence. "Sleept well?" He asked.

"Let's hope so." said Fox.

Tiberius got up and out of his room after a small nap. He looked around, checked on everything, saw Odin was missing, and then went to ponder at a big window leading out to open space. What if I'm really not ready for an adventure like this? How many people's deaths would I have bearing down on my shoulders? Especially my friends and family... No. I can do this. I can be a part of this. In fact, I think I can take on Wolf myself! He boldly stared out into infinite space, and smiled, feeling invincible. He better wipe that smile right off of his face soon. Because soon enough, he will take on Wolf himself, with no help whatsoever other than what he brings.

"That's not what it's about at all." he said. "I didn't ask for any of this. I know I wanted to make my dad proud and be a hero and all, but this?" said Tiberius. He put his hands on the guardrail. "This is not how it is supposed to be like." said Tiberius.

He sighed watching her walk out. Maybe it was better this way for the time being. He needed to think less like a family person and more like a war commander. He didn't have much time before Malon's army would grow to the point of maximum security. He needed to get to work and fast.

Before she exited the room she stopped in the door way. "Life comes at you with good and bad things Ti what makes you strong is not only embracing the good things ,but over comeing the bad." She said before walking out.

Liutenant made slight modifications

for his ship. Since he was off-duty know,

and certainly far from Commander's orders,

he decided to walk around the Cornerian Capital.

However, he did not liked very much what he

could see...

(Mkay, that's probably a good idea, bc the red is hard to read ^^;)

"Oh yea, like a baby," she growled, sitting up and stretching. "So how's about this whole escaping thing? I think I might go crazy if i have to stay here one more day."

Cliff and Attila partied with their slave girls, whom they had taken cliam over when they defeated Hurkha the Toad.

"Thanks for stayin' with us, girls..." said Cliff.

"No problem, honey..." they said to Cliff.

"I'm glad you stayed, I appreciate that, great choice!" said Attila.

"Sure." they said to Attila.  They gave Attila a back massage, and fed grapes to Cliff.
