Star Fox: The Next Generation Chapter 1

[Kursed]

"Well that's no way to treat A Female Program!"Serenea replied in her normal Voice her hologram turning around then sticking her nose into the air.

Fox didn't really care. He was working. But Serena getting an attitude was different. Something was up.

Cliff and Attila took stock in what they had....so far, things were still great for them.

"You know....maybe we need to get together with Star Wolf again?" suggested Attila.  "Maybe..." said Cliff.

The two of them laughed.

They were shooting pool in Hurkha the Toad's game room.

(heh heh....yeah...I never saw that movie, but I'll take your word for it.  Attila is based on a cat we once had, and Cliff is based on Biff from the Back to the Future movies).

Odin gently brought his Wolfen trough the shields and into the Great Fox main landing bay, taxing to his place on the far right. He spotted Fox working on one of the Landmasters on the other end, and as soon as he had gotten out and typed in a few commands in the nearby service station for it to fill the Dragon with fuel and change the oil, he headed straight for him.

"Pilot Odin Douglas reporting for duty, Sir!" He greeted Fox as he stood in front of him in a perfect military "Stand at, easy" position. Fox got up on his feet in front of him, wiping away some dirt and grease from his hands with a rug. The veteran was half a head lower than him, but it was no doubt of which one was in charge.

Krystal ran into the docking bay sensing the Famialir telepathic scent that was Odin's Aura "Where have you been?" She asked in a  kind of mothery tone when she realized it she blushed a little.

Odin held his position, but did send Krystal a warm smile as she ran towards them. Cut off as he was from his real one, Starfox had almost become like a family to him. "It's a long story ma'am." He answered her, waiting until she stopped alongside Fox. He were a little nervous over the fact that she could potentially read his mind, and extract his memories of Freya. So he made sure to put to use all the various techniques he had been taught on how to hinder telepaths from making intrusions into his brain.

"As planned, I went to Zoness to get stocked up on the parts I needed for my fighter. But it didn't take long before I ran into trouble. I was arrested in customs under suspisicon of being a terrorist, and put in jail. It took me three days to escape, and after that, I swoped by Gamma Space Station, getting stocked up on the parts there as well as getting some injuries I subtstained during my escape fixed. I was arrested under a false identity, so the authorities of Zoness has no way to relate me to Starfox in any way."

(It was fixed, but I'll give you that one. Considering he's doing all he can to protect his memories of Freya from detection, Krystal could have read his memories of his arm.)

Odin blinked in confusion over this before he understood Krystal had read it from him, as if he were an open book, and intensified his efforts to keep the memories of Freya concealed.

"I snapped a sinew during my escape ma'am. But that was among other things sewn together again when I visited the space station." He told her.

"Mind if i check on it anyway?"KRystal asked she wasn't probeing his mind but she could tell by his emotions he was hiding something.

[Asper Sarnoff]

"Sure ma'am." He answered, letting go of his left hand and bringing it up front, holding it for Krystal to examine.

Krystal looked over his arm examining the work that the doctor form teh space station had done. "You can call me Krystal odin..I'm not really much of a miltary person."KRystal noted gently feeling ove Odin's arm. "Need anything for it?"

[Tiberius]

"This isn't the military Odin. You can drop the formalities a bit." said Fox.

[Asper Sarnoff]

"Thanks guys." Odin answered as he went over into a more relaxed position. "And no thanks Krystal, It'll be allright."

[Kursed]

"If you need anythign for it Odin just tell me."Krystal noted  still looking at Odin. "Can I speak with you in private?"She asked the  wolf in front of her.

[Asper Sarnoff]

"Sure Krystal." Odin replied, doing his best to hide how nervous he was as he followed Krystal away from Fox. Had she noticed his memories about Freya? How could she?

They stopped when they had put enough of distance for Fox not to be able to overhear their discussion.

"Care to tell me what your hiding?" Krystal asked she hadn't peeked into his mind ,but she knew he was hiding something.

Alex walked into the hanger with her tool box in hand "Mind if i  help with that umm.. Dad."

[Asper Sarnoff]

"Hiding?" Odin replied, hiding the fact that he was annoyed she had spotted something. "Well, I had a lot of nasty experiences in the prison. Things I don't want to remind myself of. It wasn't a very nice place Krystal."

[Kursed]

"Besides that."Krystal said  she shook her head the walked away "It will come out in time Odin just remember that."

[Asper Sarnoff]

Odin watched expressionless after her as Krystal walked away, back to Fox. Seeing them together, as a pair, reminded him of the distance that now was between him and his true love.

"Is there something you need me for? Or can I go to my quarters and rest a little?" He asked Fox, raising his voice so it could be heard trough the hangar.

[Tiberius]

"Care to tell me what your hiding?" Krystal asked she hadn't peeked into his mind ,but she knew he was hiding something.

Alex walked into the hanger with her tool box in hand "Mind if i  help with that umm.. Dad."

"Sure, Alex. I've been working on the suspension system so its smoother." said Fox. "Odin, I need you to start on the other Landmasters. Start tuning some things up."

"Better answer Odin, Fox." ALex muttere  getting to work

[Asper Sarnoff]

(This generation of Landmasters, what do they look like? Treads or tires and stuff like that.)

"Will do!" Odin answered as he walked into one of the smaller rooms connected to the hangar, where he changed into a pair of dirty, deep blue overalls and steel-toe shoes. Grabbing hold of his toolcabinet, he walked over to the other Landmaster, dragging the cabinet after him on well-oiled wheels.

He did a routine sweep over the outside first, checking for any damaged parts and filling the grease niples up, lubricating all the various bearings. "Okay, let's take a quick scan-sweep shall we." Odin mumbled to himself before raising his voice. "Max?"

Immediatly, a hologram projecting a small, but stocky badger in the same kind of greasy clothes as him appeared over his tool-cabinet. Max was Serenas right hand in some ways, being the AI programmed with taking care of the more technical aspects of running the ship and keeping the teams equipment in working condition. They ran on the same mainframe and shared knowledge with each other, so they could just as easily have used Serena for it, but had chosen to stick with an AI with an appearance that was more fitting for this exaxt job.

"Oi, problem with the Landie' mate?" The hologram spoke to him in a gruff, but friendly and likeable voice, wiping his hands on a dirty rug before he stuffed it back into his deep pockets.

"None that I know of. Could you run a diagnostic on all systems? I need to know where to start." Odin replied as he started to unbolt one of the armor panels. For a few seconds, he worked in silence before Max again spoke to him.

"Seems to be in good condition, except for a few small problems." Max said, scratching his neck. "The laser targetin' system for the main gun seems a bit off, and the right G-diff is down on powah."

Odin nodded in understanding as he thought over thus for a few seconds. "The targeting system can be done automatic, run a calibration would you?" Odin answered as he set to work on the right G-diffuser. The calibration would take a few minutes, even with the computing power of the Great Fox at its disposal. The G-diffuser however, had to be done manually.

A Orange dragon appeared near Odin with Serena on it's back Serena jumped off , the dragon shrunk. "I'd Like you to meet Argo Odin Now do you need anything from me?"
