"Nah, but thanks Serena. Mad Max and I can handle it." Odin answered as he grabbed hold of a tiny plasma welder, and set about to carefully weld where the old seam had cracked up a bit inside the G-diffuser.

"Ya know Installing some Hoverpods might make this thing much more manuverable specailly on water or swamp land."Alex noted as she worked.

"Right if you need me Or Argo Just call."Serena replied before both her and the orange dragon hologram dissapeared.

Meanwhile in her private room Krystal sat cross legged on the floor meditating.

Kari  was reading a book in the Great Fox's library comfortably laying back in the chair as she read.

Odin finished welding and popped out of the G-diffuser to answer Alex. "It will be more manouverable. But hover systems big enough to keep this mammoth in the air for a prolonged time puts way to high demands on the stock power system. We'd have to upgrade that if not to compromise reability, firepower and speed. And there's a long way to someone who hold the part I need to do such an upgrade. We'll skip that for now." He finished before diving back into the G-diffuser, finishing up.

"Targetin' calibrated mate!" It came from the hologram of Max again a few seconds later. Want me to do a de-frag when I'm at it?" Odins answer was muffled from inside the thick titanium plating. "Yes please. Calibrate the controls to accomodate the tune-up of this G-diffuser while you're at it."

They both went back to work. For now, Odin appreciated this simple work, as he could let his thoughts drift to the girl he knew he loved.

"I proaly could upgrade it and I'm talking about this landmaster, Odin." Alex replied.

(Rachel?)

Fenris-iicon.gif

"Didn't you listen?" It came from within the Landmaster. "We've got the know-how, but not the parts at this time. Aren't we supposed to be going on a mission soon anyway?" He knew he sounded a little cross against her, but he hated to be doubted and made say things over again.

(you're plan. remember?)

(My plan? I hadn't planned for that to take action in several months yet. O_o

We could if you're getting bored and want to finish this roleplay as soon as possible, but I'd suggest another event to take place instead.)

I vote for all of you to shut up, and mine's the one that counts

(That seemed a little uncalled for. We're all in this together aren't we?)

(I vote for Fira taking less than a week to freakin; post anything -_-; Okay, Im hoping this will be my last big post. Also, Asper has allowed my to use  :wolf: , and Ti has okayed the OC that is about to come prancing into the picture... okay then, lets get this started! XD)

The rain had started up again, mirroring her mood. She hoped that he wouldn't call, it would be so much easier if he didn't call. Lying to yourself was so much easier if the person you were lying about wasn't close enough to touch. She skirted through poorly overhung alleys, water slipping down through slapped together boards that were acting as a makeshift roof for her, and a dangerous bridge for those walking above her. It seemed as if her stroll was absent-minded, but really it was a lazy dance, both to hide from the police and shake any possible tail that she may already have.

The sun was starting to break through the cracks between the boards, heralding the approach of dawn. She decided that she'd done enough wandering for one night, and began to make her way to the unmonitored docks, the lower levels of which held a hanger, well hidden and poorly guarded, where a wolfen could hide in peace. She was almost to the mine elevator-esk contraption that would take her down far enough, when someone yelled for her to halt. Being tired and not mentally ready for a confrontation, she turned to face her accosters when a fully alert Freya would have broken into a run just at the sound of their voice.

A red flash of light both temporarily blinded her and sealed in Freya's mind who she was dealing with. The police were more clever than she had first anticipated. They had simply waited for her, carrying a retinal scanning device that had emitted the light that had blinded her. It had also proven that she was the fugitive that they were looking for. She reached out for Odin's arm, trying to steady herself.

Oh, that's right, you left him with that healer, dumb@$$. She could hear them running towards her. How stupid she had been to fall into their trap so easily.

A heavy thud landed close to her, so close she felt the wind of the object rushing past her, down to the floor. The police shouted in surprise and alarm, so it couldn't be one of theirs. A few heavy footfalls pounded against the old wooden floors. The crack of bone on bone, cries of pain. Orders were shouted for organization, only to be silenced with a sickening gurgle. Freya rubbed her eyes furiously, trying to regain her vision so that she could see what was happening, but everything was still extremely bleached out. All she could see was a quick moving dark figure, striking deft, felling blows on a bunch of other dark figures.

Almost as soon as it started, the commotion ended. It was silent for a time, and then the heavy footfalls came towards her. She tried to back up away from them, but she felt the small of her back press against a guard railing. A hand with long, sinewy fingers wrapped around her upper arm. From the texture, she figured it was feathered.

"Keep the eyes on, rose-pup, grav's got the rain in it for ya'."

The voice was female, that Freya could tell, but the words that came out of her mouth made no sense. The were broken and grating, and Freya thought the accent sounded like it might hail from MacBeth, but what poor, backwater district she had no idea. The woman pulled her forward, off the railing, with more force than necessary. Whoever it was didn't seem to know their own strength.

"Still gots the red-eye? Should be tippin the hat on the split," the voice remarked as if her sentence was supposed to be coherent. Freya rubbed her eyes one more time, and found that she had gotten enough vision back to see the person holding her.

The first thing she notice was the percing yellow eyes of the tall avian. The seemed so cold and contrasted starkly with the seemingly goodnatured smile on the young woman's serrated beak. She was tall and seemed to be made entirely of muscle, but not to the point where she was bulky, all covered over with a coat of midnight blue feathers, edged with black. (I have lost the character sheet for her, but i promise it will be up hell or high water in the next 48 hours)

"...Who, are you?" Freya asked, slightly bewildered.

"I be Rayn," the woman replied, her head tiliting up with just a little bit of pride. "And you be the boss-man's rose-pup?"

Freya puzzled over this sentence for a few moments, before hesitantly trying to translate. "If, by boss-man, you mean Wolf O'Donnell, and by rose-pup, you mean daughter, than yes."

"Posion!" Rayn exclaimed, and produced a letter from the pocket of her pants. Handing it to Freya, she saw that it was printed on real paper, not the artificial kind that was in vogue presently, written with real ink. She recognized her father's handwriting. His attempt at an apology? She opened it and read it to herself. His words were as cold and terse as always, but the meaning was unmistakably: I screwed up, come home.

"How do I know this is really from him?" she asked skeptically. It had only been a couple weeks, and she knew how her dad could hold a grudge. Rayn quickly dug back into her pocket and produced a necklace, holding it out for Freya's inspection. It was a piece of flat metal, engraved roughly with a wolf's head, and finished on either side by a couple wooden beads, making it look almost tribal. He would never tell his daughter where it had come from, only that he gaurded it closely. To let that out of his sight was serious business indeed, and a true peace offering. She inspected the avian for only a few moments longer, before turning towards the lift, her eyesight almost completely returned. "Alright then, lets go home.

(I think that I'll be making Rayn white, and turning Freya back to orange since the orange is so much easier to read than the blue ^^;)

XXX

"...but where did she come from?" Freya asked again, annoyed by her father's vague answers to what had happened while she was gone. He just shrugged.

:wolf: "Some sort of peace offering, i was told, from a small time crime lord on Macbeth. He heard that I was looking to take out the competition -some guy named Hurka or Hurkla or something similar has already been dealt with- and was looking for my mercy. Everyone is scared now."

"You killed someone while I was gone?" Freya asked in alarm. She hoped that he hadn't taken his rage at her out on somone else. He just shrugged again.

:wolf: "I didn't kill anyone, but everyone seems to think I did. In any case she belongs to me now, and I don't really care what you do with her, but she's an impressive fighter, you might find her useful."

"How can I use her when I can barely understand her?" Freya muttered, watching from the observation deck while the strange girl talked animatedly at Silver who, while nodding his head thoughtfully, wore a look on his face that clearly said he hadn't the faintest idea what she was talking about.

Wolf didnt answer, and an uncomfortable silence descended between them. It had been like this ever since she had returned several hours ago. There were no apologies, no explanations, no talks. Neither of them tried to initiate, because neither of them had any idea how to. Instead, they had pretended like Freya had not run away from home for weeks, hadn't gotten arrested and had not -the part that she had conveinently forgot to tell her father- quite possibly had fallen in love with the enemy. Except for the fact that her father seemed to be choosing his words slightly more carefully, he seemed to have decided to pretend that the problem didn't exist.

:wolf: "Well, I'm sure you can figure it out. Otherwise I'll find some other use for her." And he left without a goodbye, or even another word for that matter. Freya scoffed.

Just like old times it seems.

Crazy bird... Yeesh, I've never heard such a bizarre dialect...

Silver was sitting in the cockpit of his fighter, checking the StarCat's diagnostics for the millionth time since Freya had taken off. She had showed up again, pretty beat up, with this Avian who liked to talk, but didn't seem to know how to. Then Freya had gone to her father's office, and Silver hadn't seen her since.

"I think something's up," he said to the control panel, "but I've no idea what it is. Seems everybody has gone off to do stuff, but we're grounded because of that stupid contract."

He eyed the attaché case in the rear seat, then turned back to the control panel. It was on the verge of sparkling for the first time in years. Silver had even polished the burn mark off the top of the starboard wing from Freya's shot all that time ago.

"Well, you've been enjoying this, haven't you?" Se said with a sigh to the StarCat. "I don't think you've ever been in such good shape, seeing as I've had nothing but time lately..."

Tiberius was getting suited up for its next mission.  He received an order from Bill's task force to take down a weapons convoy for Malon's army. He was waiting for some other team members to accompany him.

Alex rolled out from under a land master ,getting up she looked around "Where'd everyone go?" she asked still looking around.

Krystal had had no notification of any mission nor being needed so she continued her meditation

KAri read a book in her room  also not aware of anything going on.

Meanwhile, Odin sat in his cabin, plucking away at his guitar. One didn't have to be a telepath to know his thoughts were circling around a very special one. His fingers danced randomly over the strings of the Starcaster(Got that one?) without any special sense of direction, and the melodies coming out if it were unrecognisable.

Then, without warning, he started to play a well known riff on his guitar, mimicking the notes of one of the great legends of music.

Skillfully manipulating the string into screeching unearthly tones, he played completely flawless, like he never before had been able to do. And after the starting riffs, he went over into calmed tones as he started to sing to himself, his normally gruff, unmusical transformed into something barely recogniseable. And he sang:

"What'll you do when you get lonely

And nobody's waiting by your side?

You've been running and hiding much too long.

You know it's just your foolish pride.

Freya, you've got me on my knees.

Freya, I'm begging, darling please.

Freya, darling won't you ease my worried mind.

I tried to give you consolation

When your old man had let you down.

Like a fool, I fell in love with you,

Turned my whole world upside down.

Freya, you've got me on my knees.

Freya, I'm begging, darling please.

Freya, darling won't you ease my worried mind.

Let's make the best of the situation

Before I finally go insane.

Please don't say we'll never find a way

And tell me all my love's in vain.

Freya, you've got me on my knees.

Freya, I'm begging, darling please.

Freya, darling won't you ease my worried mind."

Original song

Between each verse, he once again let the Starcaster rip to new levels of musical frenzy. He realised only one thing was to blame for this change, and that was his inspiration in form of the shewolf he had fallen so hopelessly in love with. His voice slowly died out as he was about to finish the song, letting his guitar do the talking. Still, he didn't stumble between the notes like he had used to before.

Suddenly he was startled by a female voice from behind him. "Odin!"

With a final deathscream from the Starcaster, he abruptly ended the song and turned around on his bed to face the holographic image of Serena standing in the room. "That was... beautiful." She said, seemingly almost mesmerized by what she had just heard. Odin nodded slowly, mumbling a muffled: "Thanks".

"Who's the "Freya" you sung about? Your girlfriend?" The white vixen asked curiously.

"None of your business!" Odin grumbled in response, a little annoyed by having been interrupted in such a moment.

Serena streetched out a tounge to him while giving him a pouty face, knowing she wouldn't get anything more out of him, she changed the topic. "The team want you in the hangar by the way. Another mission."

"Oh, really? That's great!" Odin responded in a friendlier tone, happy with getting away from any questioning about Freya. He put away the guitar and got up on his feet, starting to dress in his flight uniform. It was a semi-tightfitting dark gray jacket, with a bulletproof vest under, baggy pants and sturdy army boots.

"Got any idea what it's about?" He asked Serena as he started to tie his bootlaces. She shook her head. "Nope, not the faintest clue."

Odin grabbed hold of his armpit holster and strapped it on under his jacket, putting his gun into it, and then finished with his utility belt around the waist. "Okay, thanks." He said to Serena before he left the room and headed for the hangar.

Few minutes later, he ran into the hangar and up to those of his teammembers allready there.
