How do you like to see Krystal portrayed?

I seem to recall seeing a picture of that caliber at one point... not sure where, though...

yeah well the term mercenary appears to hold alot more value than it does in starfox than anything else as usually bounty hunters and Mercenaries are considere low life scum no matter what side their on.

it's a matter of perspective and values. As far as mercenaries go, the Starfox team is pretty civilized and true, and as everything is from their perspective, of course it seems reasonable. Kinda like the way that pirates were given a positive spin in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Maybe it's just 'cause the total do-good-good types make me sick, saving the world/universe for nothing but the name of what is good...

No, no...I was joking about wanting to see Krystal as a Marilyn Monroe sex symbol.

Yes, silly. I know! Thus the :P face.

There was a guy who popped by and filled this thread and another one full of Krystal shock images. Believe me when I say you should be glad you didn't get to se it.

I spotted it, and luckily, Steve was on at the time and could respond immediatly.

Alright everyone, we are being attacked by trolls, so I need everyone to stay focused and report everything to me or the other staff, I'll try to delete some accounts that seem unusual

I'd like to see her in a first-person shooter, maybe the co-pro antagonist.

I think of her as a wistful, dangerous, immortal Vixen, with no mercy for her enemies. Always delivering blow after gruesome blow, she leaves the enemies dead at her feet, seeking revenge on that freak who broke her heart oh-so-many years ago.

Well, I dont think that Krystal is necessarily portrayed in a way that I wouldn't expect her to.  I mean, alright, maybe you should relax with the whole "emotionaly fragile" thing, however, that's the way psycics have always been protrayed as in video games.

As for her being "nearly useless"....predictions (if they could be considered that since the characters are exposed to what's going on beforehand) well....yeah, that could use some improvement.

It just seems to me that ever since SF Adventures, Krystal has become ever more so helpless in completely uncharacteristic-like ways.  I mean, In SFA, Krystal goes out of her way to help out a group of beings, who she does not know whether they will accept her or if they really are just trying to harm her.  In SF Assault, she's always all like "I can't shake them!!! Fox HELP!!!"  and in SF Command, she just loses all her good-spirited ways and just decides to hurt anyone she wants to.

At the end of the day, it really is just inconsistency in how her personality is portrayed that hurts her.

I can understand her needing help in SFAs, a lot of people are going to want to be on her tail, and SFC, she is a loser...

Krystal didn't really make a very character developing appearance in Adventures. Really that was only the first impression. The Krystal in the other games was the real Krystal. As for what StarFoxfan-FUR_ever is criticizing against the 2 other games. "I can't shake them!!! Fox HELP!!!" is probably the most repeated phrase in the entire series and In Command considering that Krystal is actually a main-character (Dinosaur Planet) ie heroin, being a cold hearted killer that would go out of their way to help people would be a normal personality trait.

I think that Krystal should be portrayed more as, as a I said earlier, the heroin. Not just Fox's lover. Also I think she should have her own game at least once.

^^^Well that would have been the case ( :krystal: being a heroin) if Nintendo didnt force Rare to turn "Dinosaur Planet" into SF Adventures. Then again, let's say "Dinosaur Planet" was the game that existed and Krystal was the main character, blah...blah...blah...etc..... First off, I personally think the game would not have sold well. It would have its small (not to mention passionate) fanbase and stuff...and would probably be a one shot deal that is looked upon as a "Passable" video game, due to people not giving it a chance regardless of what some friends they know might have said about it. So Nintendo technically revived SF with that "sudden change in plans". And only a few gamers would know Krystal. Remember how SF Adventures was criticized for being a "Zelda ripoff"???

But enough business talk and fanbase speculatiion. I can see the point you are making about first impressions and how things change, but Krystal was plain out fearless in SF Adventures. She broke into the Krazoa Palace without the help of her staff (being that she lost it). The way Krystal is portrayed in SF Assault is almost a helpless, defenseless being. In SF Command, Krystal becomes overly emotional and aparently has a breaking point, a quick one at that. So based on how she was initialy portrayed, it seems out of character for Krystal to act like that. And to make it worse, she fails to see that someone cares about her and that's why she hurts Fox? (Am I making this clear?)

she knows fox cares about her but in command she was probably so blown over by emotions she couldn't feel the love in Fox when he forced her off the team she is a telepath and that means she not only needs to Focus to use her telepathy but also her emotions may be 2 times worse than Fox's

Wait up Kursed, I already said I understood why Krystal would be "emotionaly fragile" with the whole telepath thing, even though Fox may have come off a bit hard on her, and the whole team. Krystal just seems a bit TOO helpless at times where its more like:

:fox: "So what do you need this time Krystal?"

:krystal: "I dont feel safe around here."

:fox: "And you felt safer all by yourself before you met me?"

:krystal: *insert a "dont you dare get me off" type of stare*

If i won't get sued for it...

I'm making a mod from Left 4 Dead 2, still struggling with a name, but Kursed and Wolf, as well as Tails, are appearing in it as the main survivors.

The way I'm portraying Kursed, is, yes she has a husband (Their daughter is another survivor), and no she is not dependent on him. Sure, she cries when he dies, and she wants to tell herself it's just a horrible nightmare when she sees his body, and when he's left outside the safe point, she threatens to kill the others. But who wouldn't?

Yet, in the opening cut-scene, she takes down the two strongest infected (Tank and Witch) almost single handed.

Her outfit reveals her tattoos on one arm, and you can see her stomach, she's got Capri's on and the boots in many fan-arts.

When you control her, you can see many rings on one hand, two having the Star Fox emblem, and another having the Star Wolf emblem, another is an infinity symbol, and on the other hand, she has a bracelet, and she retains her ring-tails from SFA.

She will have the most unique animations, and the most ambiguous attitude.

She also can pick up infected's movement faster, she'll make bleak references to Fox, and anytime she refers to either Fox or Panther, she only calls them by their surname with the utmost hatred.

She also develops a want for death, laughing maniacally when she takes down a lot of infected with a chainsaw. She'll freak out when Wolf mentions Fox's name in any conversation, and she says she wants fox to die first when she's low on health.

overall, she's not powerless, useless, emo, or spiteful, but she still hates fox, she loves watching the Zombies die, and wants the chainsaw or crowbar the most (as they give over-the-top gore for those who haven't played L4D2).
