Sabre
As some of you may or maynot know, I've been trying to record my games for a while now. I have tried fraps, x-fire ect, but I keep getting sound sync problems. The fix for this is beyond the free/cheap video editors that I know of, and even then, having somewhere to host is an issue. The idea is that I play so many games, often with snide comments, that I feel like recording them and posting them on the internet (maybe in 1 hour chunks or so). Think MST3k, but with computer games.I recently came across streaming. Sounds good. Most don't archive your videos, and the thought of capturing, sending, and downloading the live stream at the same is just asking for trouble. Some do keep an archive though, so I could stream long form, and have their end worry about saving it and the like. The issue here is that I have experience with streaming or the software. Has anyone ever tried procaster, and if so, is it any good? Also what sites are any good? again, I only know Justin TV and Ustream, but there are others. Any recommendations? Sabre
The sync issue is one of 2 things. 1 is the write speed of my HDD. The other is the software drapping/adding frames over time they add up leading to sound that's out of sync. The audio being longer or shorts then the vid, but manually extracting and editing it helps a bit, but being able to do a proper job requires a few grands worth of video editing software. Sarita
The Procaster is associated with LiveStream, and that's what I use to stream on the offchance that I do. I think it works really well, and lets you choose what sections of your screen to show to your watchers. It doesnt really take up too much memory, but with you playing a computer game, it might be... laggy to say the least. But then again, I dont know anything about your setup. :B
Sabre
Ah, I see. I can handle X-fire streaming a-ok, and that is just a simple version procaster with a bunch of gamer crap stappled to it, sort of.Thanks for the advice. I'll try it then, see if it's any good.
