Sabre
After the recent troll issue on SFO, a guy strted sending me photoshops of planes crashing into moscs and the like, claiming they were funny before sending me pictures of emos covered in fake blood, then he started bombing me with links I didn't bother to click on until he got bored and sod off.I was under the impression that trolls did what they did because they enjoy watching the chaos as people get angry at them, but with shock pics, that doesn't exist.Question. What's the goal to these kinds of trolls?

Kursed
making someone feel bad because they themselves feel as "If i can't be happy no one can." is another.
DZComposer
It's the same goal: They want a reaction. That's all trolls want. They want you to post "OMG! That's not right!" or "My EYES!" or something to that effect instead of "Leave me alone" or "you're mean."If you don't react, they'll eventually go away. If you ignore them and tell an admin, they'll go away faster thanks to the banhammer.
Guest Julius Quasar
"Some people aren't looking for anything logical, or rational. They can't be bought, bullied, or reasoned with. They just want to watch the world burn." But in all seriousness, yeah, they essentially are online bullies, anarchists, jackasses, troublemakers, losers....they are the equivalent of the morons who spray paint graffiti on walls, overpasses...or the jerks who go around at 0-dark-30 in the morning, shooting out traffic lights and street lights, or smashing up cars with bats, pipes, sticks, etc. To them...it's all just for kicks...Sometimes a troll is a [former] member of a site who was kicked out of a site, or was castigated by the other site members so badly that he quit the site, then came back later under a different email/ISP address (the troll got a different ISP when he bought/obtained another computer, or used any computer other than what the troll had before) and then returned to a site, trolling for revenge. The best thing to do, regarding them is:If you don't react, they'll eventually go away. Guest Julius Quasar
Heh, so all trolls are the joker? Not "all", but that's the most part Like I said, some of them also have a bone to pick with the web forum and its members/staff due to the fact they were ostracized (which drove them to delete their account), or banned, so they come back later and make trouble.Ah. My reaction to shock pics is "and your sending this because...", I didn't think people would post about how upset they are. Don't even do that. Don't give them the satisfaction that they got your attention.Otherwise, they keep it up. It's like leaving out scraps/crumbs of food for the roaches. You do it once, you'll end up attracting them right back again.

Steve
Just remember the main rule, don't feed them, while they are harmless in many ways, we don't need random idiots coming here affecting our young members (since we have a lot of kids here, and with kids, I mean 14 years or less) with shock pictures. While most of you don't get affected by those pics, it's risky for those members whose parents keep a track on what the see in the net.

DZComposer
Thing is, that's what most people say.Which is exactly what they want to hear. They post the images because they know people will say that.I say don't say anything in response, and PM any staff member currently online.
