Affiliate Request

Mr. Krystal

Recommended Posts

The webmaster of Boo Mansion has requested affiliation with Starfox-Online. Their site appears to be high quality and full of content (definitely not all the advertisement programs I've been turning down). As always, I leave it up to the community to decide for or against affiliation. If you approve, they get a link on our sidebar, and we get one in return.

Visit the site:

Tell me what you think. Please hurry though. I'd like to give him an answer quickly.

I see nothing against it, don't see what Star Fox and Mario have in common besides both being Nintendo games, but if we want to make a massive network of Nintendo fans, that's fine with me.

I've got nothing against a link exchange.

Though I advise we be careful about using the word "affiliate" as it technically means that there is an official relationship between the sites, IE they share resources, people, ownership, membership [being a member of an alliance of sites], etc. The only true affiliate we have is the Krystal Archive (people connetion [Mr. K.] and resource connection [KA board on our forums]).

How about calling them "Friends" or "Recommended sites?"

I agree with DZComposer.

Besides that, There is no real reason to be against it...

(However this is a random guy´s opinion,

so I do not know what others might say...)

Guest Julius Quasar

I checked the joint out, seems like a wholesome little place.

Why not? :P

Boo Mansion = BM

Bowel Movement = BM

:lolhyst:

It doesn't have to have anything to do with SF

Well if you want a useless ad then yes, it doesn't have to be related.

I can easily (actually it's kind of a pain, but whatever) separate a "Friends" group out from "Affiliates."

Zelda Dungeon is affilated with SF-O. What's your point?

BTW they actually DO have something in common. Both series are property of Nintendo. That should be good enough.

That's my point ;) It doesn't have to have anything to do with SF in order to be an affiliate.

You don't have to if you don't want to. It's just me being paranoid. I'm in business school, and the "L-word" (Liability) gets thrown around a lot.

I just happen to have a friend on Boo Mansion. I'm all for a link exchange, and I don't see the problem with listing them as an affiliate. It's not like we'd have to sign a contract and list each other as dependents for income-tax or something.

Good point... Unless there is a licence agreement or stuff like that, I do not think that using the word "affiliate" will do any harm. Like I once read from a book: "Words are writen in books; but they are made, used, and changed by people, therefore, it is the people the one who gives them a certain meaning, or another."

I approve of this link exchange.

Also, the only way actually calling them affiliates could potentially cause any harm or trouble, is if the Boo Mansion did something propesterous that echoed trough the whole internet, causing damage to their "affiliates" repultation (I saw Ibsen's "An enemy of the people" yesterday, so I might be a bit paranoid myself as well.).

As the odds for that seems pretty slim to me, call them whatever you want.
