You can always tell your dad that you want to snuggle up with furry pr0n.  Then he'll probably ENCOURAGE you to snuggle up with your girlfriend.

Needless to say, investing in fixing the currently existing furnace is always good, too.

Then he'll try killing me calling me a slut

Aw, snap, and we were JUST talking about Tennessee, greenest state in the land of the free!  Hey, East Tennessee gets snow!  If you're up in the mountains, that is.  I used to live in Sevierville, not too far from Dollywood.  Saw lots of yankee tourists, and lots of mountains.  And this time of year... those mountains always got snow, just... you know... not the valley.

lol Yeah, that's true. I've been to the Smoky Mountains before, and it was just awesome. I stayed in Gatlinburg for a few days and even visited the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum. Anyway, I live in Middle Tennessee near Nashville. To be more precise, I live in the Rivergate part of Madison.

Wha...?

I don't know how to respond to that.  I'm not going to lie, unless you're under the age of 15, I personally see nothing wrong with it and I'm a parent.  If my oldest boy were to make out with some chick in his class in a few years, when he's 15 or older... I'd probably just... high five him later on, so as not to make the girl feel awkward.

He's obviously not the devout religious type, or he'd tell you to be fruitful and multiply (once you're married), and find the dating thing cute, (so long as you go to church)... and most of the time, if I have a friend who has weird parents, they're... usually just overly religious but...

uh..

To have your parent(s) refer to their kid as a 'slut' or say they're 'whoring themselves out' is just... I can't really comment on that without being insulting (not to you).

All I can say is... when the time comes, get a job and find your own place to keep peace with your folks while maintaining your relationship to the level that's most comfortable for you and, one day, when you are a parent... don't try to inhibit your kid from having a relationship once they're dating age.

After all... you wouldn't want the kid to sneak out of the house and wind up with baby drama... it's better to let them chill at home and encourage good relationship growth while reminding them not to rush too far into the physical realm.  All that good stuff, y'know?

Sheesh.  If my parents ever called me a slut, I'd be like, "HEY!  I gave you GRANDCHILDREN!  So what does that make YOU?  A slut for having ME?  Get a grip and cut the apron strings, before someone gets knotted up in'em!"  Then again... my parents are pretty laid back people.  My step father is a little overbearing at times but ...he's also not a sexually repressed misogynistic troglodyte like some of the people I've seen in life.

Either way... I guess it's best to have that heater fixed for now and be thankful that you don't have one of those parents who think the Internet is the spawn of Satan and ban you from it.  Wshew.  I've seen some of those types, too.

I lived a hop-skip-and-a-jump from there, right off of Chapman highway, which goes straight through Gatlinburg.  I had the Smoky Mountains right outside my front door.  Bluff Mountain was enormous as you come over the hill to or from the local grocery store.  If I wasn't divorced, I'd still be there livin' it up in the shadow of my favorite mountain.  BUT!  Tennessee doesn't get snow like THIS... and I love snow, too! xD

What a trade off, huh?  Every day by a mountain range... or every once in a while with a snow storm.

Guest Julius Quasar

No snow here in the California "People's" Republic :P

We've had a crap load of rain and monsoon flooding, though.

The "Reverse 911" Civil Defense Systems failed to warn people, and 9 homes over the ridge where I live got ruined, more were damaged, no fatalities.

We had mudslides strong enough to move 4,000 pound concrete barrier "K. Rails", cars, SUVs, and 4,000-5,000 pound boulders bigger than SUV's.  Without roots of vegetation to hold the wet soil in place, the hillsides and mountains washed away.  The vegetation was ravaged by the infamous "Station Fire", one of the largest fires in California History.

People said the flood sounded like "a freight train bearing down on them" as it attacked their homes.  A woman said "At 4:15, I heard a noise that sounded like a freight train, and I looked into the backyard, saw nothing, then twenty minutes later, I heard the noise again, and when looked out the window into the backyard again, and there was no backyard..."

Community Emergency Response Team training will be crucial.  Especially since our Civil Government Defense is worthless in this state.

There is something psychologically wrong with my dad, he's had a rough life, but the things he has put me through in my childhood and to this day are uncalled for, I don't care what he's been through, I never deserved to be blamed for it :| I can't say anything against him because my gf and I have no where else to live, I'm hoping I can move out in a couple months...

Anyways, the furnace quit working, no warm air comes through the vents anymore :( Hoping it gets fixed soon.

Oh!  Well... see, I figured you were still HS age... if she lives with you, I assume otherwise.  Good luck with that, Foxxx. If I still lived in the Furdom (Me and two furry friends lived in Richmond, Virginia for a few years, in a 1921 Victorian mini-mannor with 9 rooms, occasionally renting it out to friends we knew were trustworthy) I'd have offered you two some sanctuary but... When my job dried up down there, I moved back to Baltimore and I've not left since.

BUT!  Good luck with that, man.

Julius... wow.  The BEAR got your state, man.  It all boils down to money and California doesn't have much of that right now, do they?  First the earthquakes, then the power grids, then fires, now every-damn-thing-else, huh?

Well... I have nothing to offer on state politics, because I sure as hell know *I* wouldn't be able to fix it.

WELP, it's midnight here, twenty-five minutes north of the Nation's Capital.  I reckon I'm off to sleep.  A snow battle must be had before the weekend ends!  Dawn and I usually square off against my oldest son (my youngest two are in Knoxville, Tn with their mother.  Long story) and her three girls... She lives on the water and has this enormous play-house castle (it's 2 stories tall) and they get in the castle while Dawn and I get on the back deck of her house... and we have THE snowball fight.  This will be round three from the last two good snows this area has received.

We usually snowball fight until the kids' gloves are so wet that their fingers are too cold to go on... then they surrender.  OR... until Dawn and I run out of snow on the deck, then we just... bum rush the castle and scoop arm-fulls of snow on the 'enemies'.  xD

Typically they run.

G'night for now!

I can relate to that, somewhat. I had a rough childhood as well, mostly because of the things my mother put me through. Everything that she did was completely uncalled for, similar to what your dad did to you. She was hardly even there for me and my sister and she did very little to take care of us. That's why my dad took full custody of us, and we live with him now. He takes better care of us and he's always there for us as well. Back on topic,  It snowed for a little bit earlier today in my area. It was just a little bit of snow, not a lot. That's why I didn't notice it when I went grocery shopping with my dad, and when I got back home.

NEAT!  Now we're getting 16 more inches tonight and 40 mph winds! WOOO!!!!!!!

Guess it's a good thing I got TP, candles and food today before the storm hit...

so... quick replay!

20 inches the week before Christmas, 10 more after new years, then 8 the next day, 6 more a week later, 29 last week and 16 tonight.  They're also calling for snow next monday as a 40% chance thusfar.

SO!    I'll have pictures up soon.  >_>

I know it belongs in canada but... I kinda' like it.  Snow is nice to look at, quiet and it kills germs... way more than can be said about my kids.  xD

I would assume you got caught in that "Snowmageddon" thing.

We were let out of school yesterday and the day before here in Missouri, but we had school today.

Good luck and don't freeze to death on us.

Yeah, Snolocalypse.  I read about this once, in the Book Of Snovalations.

Now we're getting 55 mile an hour gusts.  Nah, I don't freeze to death.

I have a kerosene heater and, right now, I have plenty of power *knocks on wood*.

For some reason, though, I'd be even better off if I had a million dollars. *Sage nod*

Sissi, what was it you said earlier?  You wish you could get snow, having never had any or at least enough to close school?

You asked, now you received!  IT BE A MIRACLE 'ER SUMPIN'!

Yes, this storm is putting snow as far south as Shreveport, Lee'ze'anna.

I'm getting MORE on Monday, HAHAHAHAHA.  Epic.

We're now at approximately 70 inches of snowfall for the year, NOT counting the 12+ we got a week BEFORE Christmas.

HEY!  CANADA!  HEY OLYMPIC GAMES!  YOUR SHIPMENT OF FAIL WAS SENT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS!  RETURN TO SENDER, KthxBYE!

I know right? xD It's just rain right now, but there are already a few snowflakes in it.

At least I was able to clean my windshield ): There's a hole in my thing that holds the water, so I don't have a working windshield cleaner on my car. And there's been something in my window since last week. D:

Regular wipers SUCK for snow, too.  See if you can find something called "Rain-X"  They make a version specifically for ice and snow.  THAT is the version to use if you can find it down there.

Else, just stay off the road. ^_^

Yeah, we've got the Rain-X :P My dad has used it on his windshield before. I dunno if we have the ice and snow version, though..

The snow from the last fall is starting to melt off here in Missouri, but there is still some on the ground, and we're supposed to get even more on Saturday! And I talked to Catwings30 today, she says snow canceled school in Texas.

None of us can escape it can we? :P It really has been a hard winter across the US.

Snow has never been a real problem here, its always the ice you gotta worry about, especially on the county back roads, which is what I live on. That's country life for ya! *cue the banjos*

WTF?! No snow here. Snow never makes it south of Austin. :( We got some sleet yesterday, but no white stuff.

That said, some Texas schools will cancel if there is a layer of frost on the ground. Sheesh, I'm from Texas and even I think that's rediculous.

We nearly get a sheet of frost on the ground in the summer! :D

I actually saw something on NBC nightly news last night, the snow is in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Probably why you didn't get it.

And lo and behold, right when everything was melting off, it's snowing again here!

It's supposedly snowing right now, all my Facebook friends are like "yay, snow!" and I'm sitting here, looking out my window saying "I see nothing but rain..."
