Oh yeah, I was thinking about that "flashback inside of a flashback" episode, called "Clan McCloud '77," where it goes into stuff about Fox McCloud's grandfather, who was an undercover street-cop in the mid 70's, dragging his two 12 year-old sons around on the job... and I was working on something for a theme-song for it today.

This, if you never saw the posters:

You are doing a fantastic job on the music. I can really feel the tension/excitement/whatever you are trying to depict in the music.

In the cartoon, Jason is Fox's uncle, or, James's brother. Jack is their father, or Fox's grandfather. More development on them in that episode specifically, but Fox's uncle makes a few silly appearances in some adventures with his nephew in a few of the earlier episodes.

Okay.

But why did you used "cumbersome"?

Sounds complex and boring.

Make it simple and snappy. :P (Jk, altough It's all in my head.)

Hello there. (I'm new here, though I'm on Lylat Reloaded and SoL boards)

I just found out about this this evening, and I have to thank you for this awesome work. I had tons of fun watching the little teasers and I really love the pics. The voice acting is really good too. I'm now fully excited while waiting for this to come out.

So, again, gratz.

I'm sorry, but I can not possibly be excited about any of this. Namely because of this:

The first thing you'll probably notice from storyboards, voice tests and such, is that the characters and their personalities vary quite noticeably from what you might be used to, so let me remind you that this isn't the 'campy conventional' StarFox cartoon you'd expect. Some of maturely themed humor, some violence, but also a more seriously-oriented and less-comical story as the first series's six episodes progress. It's more like something you'd expect on a late-night cartoon show rather than on Nick Jr. or something (if that's still on the air).

Yeah, that's nothing terribly interesting or new. Starfox Interviews (or whatever its called) have been doing this for years, and in general the concept of "take something childish and add adult humor for success" is a very, very tripe method that I despise, because it sacrifices originality for just making Optimus Prime (or whatever) make penis jokes. (the Matrix of Leadership is my penis!)

Not only that, but even though you were generalizing, saying "Nick JR" is an insult to the campy games, period. "Made for kids" does not entail "childish and lame". Shows like Digimon, Batman the Animated Series, and Beast Wars all showed you can have a serious storyline in a show, keep it kid-friendly, and have it appeal to all ages. Its the entire mantra behind most Pixar movies, really. Besides that, Starfox isn't paticularly original or unique, so the camp is what keeps it going. When your levels ripoff everything from Mobile Suit Gundam to Independence Day, what better way to keep it strong than to hang the biggest lampshades possible on it.

On the less negative side, your art style makes me laugh and is very well done, especially the 70s gag posters.

Well, if shows targeted towards the 18-30 demographic aren't your thing, it's no biggie.

It reminds me of something you'd see on Adult Swim (that's meant to be a good thing.)

Hey by the way, do you plan to translate this? Just with subtitles.

I would love to translate it to French, if you plan to do it.

No plans as of yet, but if you're good at translating to another language and keeping the 'funny,' you're more than welcome to get together with me when it's finished and work something out. :>

But I -do- like some shows like that, such as the Venture Brothers.

I just don't like mixing it with Starfox.

I may be able to help you on that,

translation to Spanish.

Something cool would be to give some

characters different accents in this case.

Also, I like your new avatar! Disco :bill:, ROFL!!

Awesome, count me in when it's done! =D

Actually, I am French and I am studying foreign languages, so... Yeah. Translating will be quite like my job later. I'll do my best for the jokes.

@fredryk (or freddy, or matt, or whatever you call yourself  O_o ..), you know, you handled robert's comment a lot better than i expected...

@robert monroe, i cant say im as excited about it as Crazyfooinc is, but i do like what hes got going here. you dont see too many fan works of starfox (outside of krystal fanfiction that is) so seeing a comedy about a series that hasnt seen any action for a while is kinda refreshing.

sure its not exactly revolutionary, but maybe some havent seen as many things like this as you have.. i guess entertainment these days does tend to do a lot of this kind of thing. of course you dont really see much of that when it comes to less "popular" things like video games. sure i see plenty of attempts at bastardizing a classic childrens media for the sake of entertainment on youtube and such, but i think that what Matt is doing here is a lot more interesting than something so two dimensional. he actually looks at the history of starfox and shows true dedication (which is more than what i can say for Namco!)

well on another note, i have suprisingly not found the opportunity to use the starwolf GIF freddy/matt made :( i shall try harder!

Actually, I have to eat my words here. Out of curiosity I watched the preview clips.... and.... really? I enjoyed them. I didn't get Family Guy. I got Venture Brothers.... sort of. The "adult" aspect isn't realy there aside from a swear or too, and its nothing really vulgar or offensive. I dig the retro feel it has, too. The filters are REALLY 70s, and that ammuses me. The acting is very strong, especially for only two actors doing everyone. And best of all, its got alot of old school in it. Fara Phoenix and General Pepper loving lolipops? Do want.

I lay down my sword to you, good FredrykPhox, for I have misjudged your project and now support it.... so long as its as good as the previews make it out to be. if you ever need a voice actor gimmie a ring too I'm pretty good at those too
