DZComposer
A bunch of spambots defeated our anti-spambot registration measures, and several dozen new accounts were registered in the past couple of weeks with very suspicious usernames and anti-spam phrases. So far, it looks as though our internal spambot-post-prevention has not been defeated, as we have not seen any spam posts.Watch your PM boxes, as PM spam is the latest trend in forum spam. DO NOT click links in PMs from users you are not familiar with, ESPECIALLY if the user is claiming to be a staff member warning you that your computer has malware. No forum software can detect malware, and clicking on that link will do the opposite than what is claimed: IE the site will likely INSTALL malware on your machine.I am about to nuke all zero-post accounts created since Jan. 1, 2010. If you just registered, go to the "Welcome Wagon" board and create an "I'm New" thread, or participate in one of the discussion threads immediately. In two days, I will purge the accounts. Steve
We should disable account registration for 2 days, wait till the deadline, and then nuke all the accounts with 0 posts, in that way, we won't have to worry about deleting real members, because this is getting REALLY annoying. These bots could just randomly become active anytime, and it won't be pretty when that happens. I went ahead and deleted some accounts, but the list of bots is seriously increasing fast. Doing this manually would take a while, so let's use the big shinning button.

Asper Sarnoff
:Agreed,Fox your say? "Can't let you do that, Starfox!"Okay, sorry about the off-topicness here.I tought the seemingly stream of new members actually signaled a significant growth in the popularity of the forum, but if most of them are just bots, then I have been horribly mistaken it seems. Kursed
: This concerns your data base too Wolf once the bots invade the starfox net comepletly they will move to Starwolf's net as well and we'll all be swarmed with overtraffic problems and they may even spread to the wolfens and arwings computer system's.Sadly yeah too bad though. Guest DRL
I HATE SPAMBOTS. I am a profesional anti-spambot fighter. You know, every now and then they try to assimilate me. But as as allways... they fail. .Jokes aside, I do mean it. [move]SPAMBOTS ARE INTERGALACTIC SCUM!!![/move]
