This thread actually has made me be glad about having eyes that work. And if I did lose my eyesight, I would notify everyone I know, including this forum, right away by getting someone to type the message for me. Great. I couldn't sit still and do nothing. Besides, it could open up a lot of possibilities for software upgrades as technology progresses. They are naturally far from as good as the real deal, and I don't know how long they lasy before something nned replacing or repairing, but they are definatively on their way. The computer has text-to-audio tools and programming is largely a mental activity. Then there's the rapid advancements in cybernetic eyesight that would reduce the effects.
