How about Eidos?  They did good with the "Hitman" games.

Rare does nice scenery and details.

Nameco did well with Assault...

I dunno which of the four you put there that I like best....I wish there was an "Other" option.

Valv and Blizzard are pretty good, tho....but I'd say Blizzard, I guess. :/

Hi,

many games of this companies aren't made by them - they were just published by them.

For example Crysis was made by Crytek, Sims and SimCity were made by Maxis, the latest NFS by Slighty Mad Studios - but all games were published by EA.

And even if you just count the publishers, you forgot a lot of big companies:

UbiSoft, Microsoft, Take2,  THQ, Atari, Konami and (most important!) Nintendo. There still a few more big ones...

Interplay... Microprose... They did some good titles that I still enjoy.

And of course,

I like almost all of them.  Though you forgot iD Software, as well as 2D Boy, Microsoft Game Studios , Vivindi, Sega, Maxis, and inXile. :P

Free Radical was good. Insomniac made the ratchet and clank games so they are pretty high up there for consistansy, and one of the few companies I sit and take notice of.

id and their B team raven are currently on my radar as well. Doom 1-3 and Quake 4, Wolfenstien (the new one) Orc and Elves, all great. looking forward to Rage.

I can still remember it... "Enemy wing just arrived!"

Alpha wing has arrived, awaiting orders.

Alpha 1, do not engange the Tyranis!

He,he... Nice old times.

Interplay, then. Needless is to say, Freespace (I & II) is one of the best games of all times!

Not actually, but I heard it is pretty good. Interplay/Volition have made some good games.

P.s.: Actually, I was once able to destroy the Tyranis in that mission. Later I jumped back to base, and they... well, in short, they told me something like "You blew up our only chance to adquire a shivan capital ship, pilot! We were already planing to capture that ship!..."

Yeah, Freespace 2 rocks. I prefer such tipe of games to the Elite ones, I mean... buy-travel-sell-buy-travel-sell... kinda boring... Good thing that neither Interplay or Volition decided to do such kind of space sim.

(...And yeah, why the &!#% they did not tell they were planning to capture it?

Also it it funny the fact that they tell you not to engange it and actually it is the only way to complete the mission...)

Out of those, I used to LOVE EA games, because of Need for Speed (up to Hot Pursuit 2), but recently they haven't impressed me.

Valve has hit it on the head, trading graphics and confusing story for fun, simple multiplayer action.

That being said, Thirdwire is still easily my favorite company. :P

I went with "Other," and my other is Rebellion, they may have messed up with Shellshock 2, but they have always made Aliens vs. Predator great, I started with the first one for PC, gold edition of course, and that is still the scariest game I ever played, when you put it on Director's Cut difficulty (Equates as Hard difficulty), you can kill an Alien with 100 health and 100 armor left (Most you can have, obviously), and you step on the body before it bleeds its acid blood out, can go down to 30 health and 0 armor, your gun jams and you have to let go of the trigger to unjam it, grenades have a high chance of killing you if you don't know what you're doing, you don't have the shoulder lamp, only flares so lighting messes you up BAD, and the aliens are FAST and very numerous, unending in most spots, actually, not like other games with a finite amount of bad guys, the aliens will keep coming until you move, or die. That still holds the record on many lists, some even official game source ones, as the scariest game ever made. and AVP 2 and the new one have not disappointed either, not quite as scary as the previous ones, but still good. And Rebellion has tried very hard to remain true to the movies, not fond of the fact they used things from the AVP movies as well in the new one (In my mind, those movies don't even exist, even though I own them for the sake of Aliens vs Predator being the title), but still, they salvaged something from the movies and made it bad ass, something I though was impossible. And the game is still rather.... nerve wracking, play it on Nightmare, and you have to restart the entire level when you die because you get NO checkpoints, and acid blood is quite lethal on that difficulty, to the point where an Alien headshot kill within 5 feet of you is 99% likely to kill you too from the fountain of acid that sprays out, making it quite challenging. All in all, Rebellion has taken a bad ass comic, and made it into a bad ass game that lets you release your inner honour bound hunter, merciless parasite, or, if you prefer, not that bright marine. :}{
