Earth meets Lylat. Then what?

The humans would think that the Cornerians are too weird-looking, and the Cornerians would think that the humans are too plain-looking.

Probably lol :)

I would love to go there (even if I am not an ambassador), mainly because I would love pretty much everything there. The planet. The environment. The city. The ships. ...And of course, the vixens!

Same here!  Although I'd more likely be a refugee...

I've got an odd feeling of Déjà vu with all this talk about siding with the Cornerians. Should be recognisable for everyone who have seen Cameron's Avatar.

"You let me down son. So what, you find yourself some local tail, and you just completely forget what team you're playing for?"

"Hey, how does it feel to betray your own race?"

Be warned tough, if for some reason it came to hostilities between earth and an alien lifeform, and someone decided to turn on humanity in favor for the other side, I'd have no choice but to shot them down like mad dogs.

Most of this race is a joke :S

It wouldn't bother me siding with Corneria.

Like I said I would rather sit in the negotiation table than in a tank´s turret, but if I have to choose Earth or Lylat, I choose Lylat.

I hope, however, that in the unexpected case that Lylat exists, we can get along peacefully.

Of course, if a human were to side with and join the Lylat System, he or she would likely need to be physically assimilated into their society.

Which is an elaborate term for "surgery."

Why would you need too? You would just be unique?

Guy 1: Yay! What I allways wanted to be a furry!

Guy 2: That guy is scary  :nervous:

It wouldn't be all cupcakes and puppies right after the surgery, though.  We're talking about a full-body transformation, here.  Including the addition of new parts (ears, muzzle, tail) that your brain would have to map so you could use them and move them independently.  Not to mention fur implants throughout.  Heck, you'd even have to re-learn how to breathe properly through your new muzzle, beak, etc.

I would imagine that at least the first year after reconstruction surgery would suck as you try to adapt to your new self.

And I can't even begin to imagine the medical bills, unless the Cornerian government covers the cost for new foreign citizens.

They would have decent healthcare, plus they also have better tech, so chances are they may just swap you with a generated body. (See Mr. Krystal's fanfic)

Link, please?

You say "swap" as if they take your brain out of your old body, make necessary modifications, and connect it to the nervous system of the new one.

That would be awesome to replace my body, at least with one that doesn't hurt all the time xD

I don't know, the whole idea kind of creeps me out a little bit...

Well, considering the matter of integration further, I would imagine Lylatian society being accepting of humans among their populace.

I mean, they have hundreds of different species among their populace already, so it seems that they would have higher tolerance level for different-looking people.

That and I'm sure they must have contact with more alien races than Earth has ever had contact with (i.e. none).

Lol, they're quite diverse :)

I haven't read it, but I know what it's from, it talks about brain transfer in chapter 7.  Also, they don't take the brain, they take the signals and persona in the brain, so it's like Avatar, but not as overrated and god knows you aren't returning to your old body. :D

Plus a reset on health and age.  You'd go to a stronger body, at like 18 years of age. (that'd be growing up for me, perhaps I'd order a 14 year old body :P)

I haven't matured much from 18 :P only been 3 years though ;)

To be honest, if it actually could be done and I did it, after waking up in a new body, I'd cry from epicness.

Anyway...

I assume most of the population of the Lylat System resides on Corneria, right?  That might simplify intergalactic relations for the most part.

Well it's either your mind/body has "surgery" performed on it...or you could look at it like say "human turning into a furry" artwork, if you know what I mean. Kind of like a TG only...you would keep your gender.

The way I see it if Earth were to somehow come into contact with the Lylatians, I guess they would send some generic researchers to check out the area to see if it is inhabitable. After a few minutes, they would realize how much time they would waste conducting their own experiments to check out the wildlife and what-not, then decide to just come into contact with the Cornerians (since they wont be killed in the process, like say, meeting up with Venom) and establish relations with them.

Then, after a while, Earth realizes that they could improve there own standard of living by getting something out of Lylat when they have the chance, the researchers forget what their original goal was, and we have a war on our hands due to greed and lack of respect for foriegners...even though in that situation, WE would be the foreigners.

That's what would probably happen lol
