Krystal, IN STARWOLF!?

"Perhaps, but the kind of sentrybots used to guard places like this are only designed and programmed for one thing. Shooting other things up. They probably don't even know how to open a normal door." Freya whispedred to Panter as they followed Leon and Wolfs process of planting the explosives.

After a few moments of silent working, they had finished planting them, and were now sticking what looked like tiny syringe in each of the charges. They were simply small devices made to create a circuit once activated, leading voltage trough the plastic explosive, thus igniting it.

"Get into cover behind that rock." Wolf growled as he pointed at a large rock to the side of the door. "There will be flying splinters everywhere, so don't be temped to look at it as we blast it open." He started to lead them behind the cover, ducking down himself.

He pulled out a small detonator from one of the pouches in his belt, drawing out a small antenna from it. It was a box, with one button to dial in the correct frequency, and a secured button that would start the ignition process.

Wolf fiddled a bit with it untill he found the same frequency as that of the ignitors, and readied to push the button.

But, at the last moment he changed his mind and handed it over to Freya.

"You do it." He mumbled as he placed it carefully in her small hands. She looked up at him, sending him a small smile.

Wolf started the countdown. "Ready?" Everyone checked in. "5...4...3...2...1..."

Their eardrums took a solid beating from the hefty soundwaves, then came the shockwave which blew sand into their faces and made their clothes flab wildy about for a split second.

Then, there was silence. The dust started to settle again as they roose up and wandered up to the door again to check if it had worked. Silently, Freya snuck the detonator back to Wolf. He replied by taking her in short a side by side hug, as a confirmation that he wasn't really mad at her anymore.

Krystal looked up she had used her staff shield to shield herself so she could be close to the door "Well I'll have to hand it to you leon you do a pretty  good job."She commented as she rose up form her crouched position her staff's shield disappearing.

(thanks for finishing that for me, Asper)

Leon ignored Krystal's comment, but grinned upon seeing the 5' by 5' hole in the gate, just as he had planned. The smell of the spent explosive and hot metal filled the air.

"I give you, a door." he said regally, motioning the team to go ahead. "Mind your fur though, the edges are still hot."

(No problem Showtime.)

Wolf took out a signal flare from his belt, ripped off the security pin and smashed the bottom of it against the door.

Immeditaly the other end broke out in a small fountain of red sparks.

Wolf threw it trough the opening in the door before he holstered his rifle and walked inside. "Put on headlights!" Wolf growled over his shoulder. He had opted to give the team headlights instead of night-vision glasses. Just in case they encountered a bright flash, which could potentially blind them for half a minute.

He choses instead to rely on the night-vision his mechanic eye. If he got blinded, he would have one healthy eye left.

The signal flare was lying about twenty feet into the room, dimly illuminating a gigantic hall. Probably half a mile one way, and almost the same the other. Scattered around were about a dozen trucks of various sizes and forms, and probably a hundred or so cranes. This was where equipment came in to be unloaded, and other things came out from the deepths of the complex to be shipped out.

Wolf scanned carefully his surroundings. The flackering light of the flare caused all sorts of movement in the shadows, and one needed a trained eye to spot the difference between nothing, and a threath.

After a couple of breattaking seconds, Wolf was satisfied and signaled for the others to follow after him trough the hole.

"You know the drill. In formation!" Growled Wolf as he took the lead with Leon at his side, holding his gun at the ready. Still they saw no sign of any droids. He guessed his prediction that they would have broke down by now had some deegre of accuracy to it. The group started to slowly move foreward trough the hall, heading for sevelar hallways at the other end.

Freya placed her headlight on and switched it on. Now, she could at least see where she wanted.

She didn't like this place. Not at all. It looked like people had just dropped what they had in their hands and left, just of a sudden. She could see some hardhats lying around the floor, and even a can of water along with a plate containing some barely recogniseable remains of food on top of a crate, as if someone had taken a lunch break there.

One thing she noticed tough, there was actually a considerable amount of wind down here, and the air wasn't as stale as she had expected. The ventilation shafts was still open, and the size of the complex meant that the barometric pressure outside differed among the ventialation shafts, creating wind streams.

"This is very unusual either they left in a hurry or someone is still here."Krystal noted putting her staff into it's holster on her back she grabbed her blaster pistol from it's holster eyes glowing in the darkness.

"They probably left right after Andross was killed. Why would they stay here and work for a dead tyrant who could no longer punish them anymore?" Wolf whispered as reply to Krystal. He wasn't exactly sure why he chose to whisper, something about this place told him that while none of the workers were still here, they shouldn't let their guard down.

"he was revived remember perhaps they all moved to help him."Krystal whispered in reply she started to reach out with her mind searching for any life she could differentiate from  the aura's of sentient and non-sentient beings.

"Looks like the remains of some spooky after-party..." whispered Panther, as he looked around.  He still kept an eye on Freya, it wasn't hard due to the fact she was using a headlamp.  Panther was grateful she had thought to bring it.  He wished he had thought of that.

(Psst! Everybody got their own headlamp, except for Wolf.)

(oops, sorry!)

:panther:

Panther then realized he did pack his own headlamp,

he took it out of his combat pack, and turned it on.

"Ahh, that's better." he whispered to himself.

"I hope it's not a bio-weapon, at least not one we can't control..."

Panther had wondered about the old Golmech bot, that was on

Venom before Andross arrived on it, it was assumed to be the

planet's old defense network.

"Could be bats you know." Wolf answered. "With the ventilation shafts open, the place is probably crawling with them."

They were now standing in front of one of the corridors leading out of the entrance hall. Wolf double checked his wristband to make sure this was the right one before he stepped trough it and started the lang walk trough the darkness.

The floor was gently slooping downwards, and Wolf could feel the air become hotter and staler the further down they ventured. He had packed a single respirator mask, just in case. But he had predicted, and hoped, it would be unnecesary.

(We'll just be walking down trought the complex for a while now. This should be a good opportunity to chat a little with each other.

Also, Kursed, if you feel like I'm hijacking your roleplay and leading it a way you don't want to go, then say so.)

(uhh actually Asper most of the time I need someone to hijack my roleplay and head it down some path Simply because I havn't planned it out that far most of my roleplays are what you could call free roams that's  how I work most of the time also why I don't push the roleplay forward a lot. maybe not the best course of action, But if it starts to go away from my intended  Direction I will  'curve' it back don't worry.)

Krystal sighed "Your probably right just a small colony of them would render the aura of a large object."

"Hmmm...this could still be an interesting endeavor for us all.  I do hope this will pay off for us."

said Panther.

"When this is all done, I want to treat a certain someone, along with myself, to a first class meal."

he thought, looking surreptitiously at Krystal.

"Freya would be much more appreciative of that offer panther."Krystal replied looking away from the Feline. Although maybe if he'd learn to view me as a teamate and not a woman i might consider the offer.

"It's not a date, my dear, Freya is welcome to come as well...it's...a way of celebrating our victory, and my way of saying to you and Freya 'I'm sorry for smuggling Freya aboard, and forcing you to cooperate." Panther said to Krystal, winking at her and at Freya, sharing the secret knowledge of the truth.

"Just you, me, and Freya.  I just thought we would celebrate knowing something we truly know, and the other two don't.  Besides, it'll be a nice way for me to say goodbye to you both, since I'm kicked off the team." he thought to Krystal.

Leon groaned.

"Panther, are you honestly thinking about... dating at a time like this?"

Before Panther could reply, Leon added;

"...And you had better not get all sulky about your recent... dismissal again."

idiot...

"Leon, you stupid moron, I don't care about the dismissal.  I'm actually glad to be removed, I don't have to put up with you anymore.  Also, mind your own business, and get your nose out of everyone's ass.  You couldn't get a date off of a calender, loser." jeered Panther towards Leon.

Panther would miss picking fights with Leon, but in a way, he figured he could use a break from team mercenary work for a while.  "Krystal and Freya would be fine replacements for me."

he thought.

"Enough!" Wolf growled from the darkness in front of them. "Save the bickering for when we're done here and back on Sargasso."

Wolf didn't like how things had turned out these last days. Sure, he had got a valuable asset on his team. The telepathic Krystal. But he had also lost a proper good pilot as well, and his daughter were in grave danger now due to his folishness.

They had walked for a couple of miles now according to his armband. And he estimated them to be several hundred feet under the ground as well, and still going deeper for every single step.

The dark, cramped coridor almost made him feel a bit of claustrophobia. The moisture dripping from the roof and onto his fur was also most unwelcome.

Then, they arrived in front of another door. A door blocked by a large rock which had fallen down from the roof.

"Cover me" Wolf whispered as he slung his rifle across his back and walked up to it. After a quick excamination, he decided he could move it himself. So he turned his back to it, planted his feet by the wall, and started to push with his feet.

His muscles strained under the load, and drops of sweat started to pour down his face, but his efforts was rewarded with the sound of the rock moving against the concrete floor, before it ultimately tipped away from the door.

Wolf got up on his feet again, wiping the dust away from his clothes before he once again brought his gun up again. Carefully, he grabbed hold of the door, and with a little struggling, managed to get it to swing open towars them.

Wolf noticed the inside of the door, had long stripes painted on it, in what seemes like old, dried blood. And when he took a look inside the room they had opened, he understood why.

Lying on the floor in front of them, was the immoblie body of a young ape. Half-rotten and giving of an awfull smell.

The flesh on his fingers was gone, revealing the bonetips underneath.

This guy had been left behind. Trapped inside here when the rock fell down and blocked the door. Desperatly clawing at the door he could not open.

The scene made Wolf feel a little sick. A feeling he supressed as he moved himself in between the body and Freya. She didn't need to see this. Not at all.

"Let's get moving again." He whispered hoarsly.
