Starzone: Liberation

[Kursed]

"Just run...  I'll explain later."  Para replied; his tone neutral.  Soon, the unit had sprinted through the cloud and began running up the path that would lead them to the trap Colonel Radic and Regul had orchestrated.  "Make sure to request for a pick since the rendezvous point is up on top of that hill."  Para chimed in without exhaustion in his voice.  On his visor, it showed a circle upon the hill with the words 'RENDEZVOUS POINT RECEIVED' flashed next to it in medium-sized letters.

"You sure about this I don't feel that this is right." KRystal noted stopping at teh foot of the hill.

"I believe he's right, Krystal."  Marcus spoke up with the same words that were on Para's visor projected in front of him.  Then, he felt a quick jult as he took a step ahead of them.  He shook it off and pressed on, but stopped as he saw three Vektran troops handcuffed.  "What the...  Hey, ARE YOU GUYS ALRIGHT??"  Marcus yelled to them, but they never budged.  He inched forward with his rifle pointed at them.

"Marcus...?"  Para asked walking behind him.  Marcus motioned for him to go check them and Para walked cautiously towards them.

Krystal pointed a finger among the soldiers she saw from a distance... "Somethings not right." Krystal noted staaying away from the troopers .

"WHATEVER, I'M NOT TAKING THE RISK!!!"  Marcus finally yelled to Krystal over the mike, then turned off the comm link.  "Glassing is no good...  What other--  TODD, BEHIND YOU!!!"  Marcus yelled, seeing a Helghast soldier appear from around the destroyed tank and was rearing the budd of his rifle, about to strike him.

Todd swung his sniper rifle into the knees of the Helghast soldier, then shot him in the head at point blank range.

"Thanks, Marcus..." said Todd, catching up with him.

Soon, three flashbang grenades bounced off the ground and exploded, blinding the whole unit.  Colonel Radic rose his arm out in front of him and a red barrier buzzed all around the unit; they fell for the bait.  Colonel noticed Krystal's shield aura and ordered an energy drain of the whole barrier.  Soon, everything on the Vektran troops, including Marcus, Todd, Para, and Krystal had shut offline.  The troops started patting all over their suits while Para and Marcus struggled to get their equipment back online.  "Dammit!!!  Everything is cut off...  Smart bastards, they are..."  Para grumbled under his breath as he watched three Hellfurion troops kicked over the dummy troops. 

"Well, it seems our little ploy worked after all." Colonel Radic observed and approached the barrier with his hands behind his back.  "I never, in my whole lifetime, would believe how I captured such gullible enemies.  It makes my sins laugh at the realization." 

"Like I said, Colonel: gullible and dumb.  They're all like that."  Regul spoke up, walking towards the barrier near the Colonel with her arms folded.  "Did you idiots ACTUALLY believe I would have gotten myself impaled on accident?  Do you honestly believe I ACTUALLY joined the Vektran Army?"  She cocked her head away from them with cold eyes, "You morons are more pathetic than I thought." 

"Surround the perimeter:  Nothing gets in or passes this fortitude."  Colonel Radic told his men and a few jogged off.  "This war was unintentionally started by the Vektrans themselves.  We were brought into this war due to social genocide ensuming on their homeland of our.  We left and migrated to Hellfure and the to Helghan to expand our rebellious army."  Colonel Radic then looked at the unit, whom all were growling with clenched fists and bared teeth.  "Snarl all you like, you retched, hairy snoggs!  This war has no meaning; no resolution; no cause at all!  What do you honestly believe you are accomplishing by starting a war with your own kind?!?!  NOTHING!!!" 

Regul was only looking over at Radic neutrally, then glancing through the croud to Krystal.

KRystal although blinded by the flash bang turned towards regul not moving from her spot pointed directly at her "I should have let you die."The blue Vixen Growled.

Dazed from the blast, lying on the ground, Todd dropped the now wrecked sniper rifle, rolled over, grabbed his Helghast rifle, and crawled through an opening in a sewer pipe.  He made his way down the pipe.

Regul and formed a grin onto her face and thought, And I should have assassinated you when I had my numerous chances.  Colonel Radic then took a few stepps back towards a few soldiers, until a Saboteur troop informed Radic of Todd's inevitable escape route. 

"Flush the sewers.  Drown him alive, or if he flushes out, shoot him."  He ordered and turned back to his troops.  "Keep guard until reinforcements arrive."  Thet saluted and walked up to the barrier, splitting off to guard each side of it.

Regul slowly walked around the barrier, just staring at Krystal while the soldiers inside the barrier growled curses and insults.  "So," she began, "What are you going to do now that we have you trapped and severed from your equipment?"  Regul slowly paced back and forth, never taking her eyes off Krystal.  "If only you could see how much corruptness you selfish morons are doing to these people...  Maybe you would understand why I secretly defected..."

KRystal hadn't completely regain her sight ,but had a good fix onto Regul she soon Dove into her mind to see if she was speaking the truth although this would temporarly paralze them both if it had worked.

"....I gotta get outta here...and not 'cause it smells like ass!" Todd said, crawling through the pipe, his rifle held out in front of him.

He heard a faint rumbling behind him.

"What the hell!?" Todd asked, pausing to listen.  His ears perked up, and he could hear the water coming..." "Oh, sh**!" he crawled faster, but the water was catching up behind him fast.

"AAAAAHHHHH!" Todd was washed down the pipe...

Regul suddenly froze under Krystal's telekinesis.  Soon, images of Regul approaching the Colonel Radic and he showing her several photos of the Vektran soldiers beating enslaved Hellfurion troops, then came a visual with just brief images, through Regul's point of view, being commentaried by a faint Vektran leader and Hellfurion dictator giving speeches as screams were uproaring. 

The last image was of Regul being shot as a suspected Hellfurion soldier by a Vektran commander.

Krystal eyes although open could see nothing her eyes opened wider seeing the images she didn't break the link  however her mouth began to move making no sound she mouthed out the words " I .... think.... we're .... Fighting.... the wrong.... enemy"

Todd washed down the pipes, and came out...in the sewage treatment plant.

"WHHHOOOOOAAAA!"

He washed out of the pipe, into a large, Octagonal chamber, with eight large pipes emptying their large amounts of water and other contents into the vast chamber.

SPLAAASSSSH!

He landed, gripping his rifle, into 8 feet of water...as he treaded water, he looked up at the metal cage at the top of the chamber, at the dark, overcast Vektran sky.

"Why again, am I fighting this damn war!?" he asked himself out loud.  He made his way across the water, slung his rifle on his back, and climbed the metal rungs on the cement wall,, and made his way out of the water chamber...

He was walking down the dark, arched chamber, and he took cover behind a large pipe in the corridor, or took cover in a niche every so often.

"Spread out!  Find the perpetraitor and shoot him on sight!  FOR THE EMPORER!!!"  A Hellfurion soldier ordered as four Helghast troops walked down the path towards Todd.  As two of them approached him, the rest splitting off, one of the soldiers fired his rifle, causing the other to spin around.

"What was that!?"  The alerted soldier demanded.  The one that fired, aiming at the cement ground, shook his head.

"Blasted rodents...  They are everywhere..."  The one that fired grumbled and the alerted one shook his head.

"Preserve your bullets for the scoundrel we are looking for; no sense wasting the on putred vermin."  The both nodded and slowly pressed on with their rifles lowered and looking around in an alert fashion.

KRystal soon moved to the colenel divign into his memories paralyzing him from the neck down while she searched.

The Colonel's mind only showed the inevidible destruction of the Vektran Army; that with flames towering the whole planet, the Hellfurion people saved, Helghast and Hellfurion united as one nation, and the two scholars of both the Helghast and Hellfurion army exchanging handshakes as they agreed to split the universe 50-50. 

Amidst the images, Regul's figure was never seen and only shown as one of the fallen ones of numerous slaughters.  Along most of the walls in Radic's mind images had shown several bodies pilled up, Vektran soldiers, several of them hung, and blood all about the walls, along with graphitti on every single one showing the combined Hellfurion and Helghast nation's symbol.

Soon, the unit inside the barrier regained their sight and looked around only to see the red barrier that was surrounding them.  Several tried to escape by shoulder bashing it, but were violently electrofied and thrown a few feet away from the side of the barrier; their bodies steaming from being burnt alive.  The Hellfurion troops only looked briefly over their shoulders as the soldiers that were killed lay on the ground motionless; they snickered to themselves at the ones that tried to escape.

No sense in trying to escape... Marcus thought helplessly to himself and looked around.  Bullets would more than likely ricochette off the sides and land into one of our own men...  Can't take the risk.  He threw his gun to the side and shoved Para lightly.  "Hey, just lay your gun down; we can't do anything as of now."  He said wearily to Para; he didn't move.

"-Sigh-  I suppose you're correct about this.  But Krystal was right about it not feeling right..."  Para obeyed, dropping his gun to the ground; the sand absorbing the impact.  The rest of the unit did so while the only medic went to go check on the four electrified soldiers.

Shaking his head, "-Sigh-  They're gone, sir.  Out when they got barbequed..."  The medic removed his gloves and placed them into his back pouch as he sat on the ground, swirling the sand in a small area with his index finger.

Krystal withdrew her mind then went back into Regul's just slightly 'I've read both of your minds regul  and the Colenel imagines you dead.'

Regul looked around quickly, then to Krystal, giving her a sour look.  "Radic would never do something like that to someone that helped them out greatly...!"  She growled and looked over at Radic, whom was only staring at her through his mask; his expression consealed.  She looked back to Krystal, then to Radic, to the unit, to the Hellfurion and Helghast soldiers, then, finally, to the blue smoke cloud that had desipated.  Her eyes widened at her own realization and hung her head with her mouth open.  "I...  I...  Was...  Set up...!  But... But why...?"

"If you are so concerned as to why my reason is at it is, then I will be more than happy to obligue it to you."  Colonel Radic spoke up, looking at her from his side.  He walked a few steps towards her and stopped.  "Condulgence is a an arrow that pierces one's self being and destroys their self being from their minds to the very soul they have.  I can only bare to you how much I hate obiding by that law and disposing of countless spies I have been using; you, namely.  But, you have been a most valuable one since you have brought and extracted more information than we needed, and have stood by our sides from the first day you saw the Vektran Army publically executing our people in their capitals."  Regul only remained silent and motionless as images flashed in her mind with Radic's voice narrating them:

A wounded Regul, "From rising up to preserve the Hellfurion peace and rebellion:"  Numerous photos cycling from an assassinated target with a bullet hole in his head, "Relentless killing for our personal occasions:"  A hand shake between Regul and Radic with soldiers saluting in the background, "A commemorial of personal alliance:"  And, finally, an image of Regul with the Vektran Army with Krystal and others in front of her; all covered in blood and white-pupiled, "To the final hours of your life to be thrown in the wind like discarded ashes from a Holocaust."  Regul, overcomed with betrayal and loss of feelings, fell to pieces and collapsed onto her knees, staring at her hands.  Colonel Radic, then, stood over Regul with his hands behind his back and held his hand out to his side; a soldier stepping up next to him with his rifle lowered.  "As of now, you are no use to me...!"  He looked to his soldier, "Eliminate her thoughts:  Have her begoned."  The soldier nodded and looked down at Regul.

Regul could only stare at her hands and make her eyes wander about as she was lost in her shattered feelings and motives; stricken from betrayal.  Soon, tears welled in her eyes and rolled down her face as the Hellghast troop pressed the barrel to the back of her head, causing her head to move forward from the rifle's pressure.

"NO!" KRystal growled actvatinig her psionci sword unlike everythign else she had it ran on her own energy She  tried to cut through the sheild untill a sniper bullet went through the head of the solider aiming the gun at Regul's head in the distance a White wolf holding a smoking Sniper rifle

" You really think I'd leave like that now would I?"The White wolf asked aiming the sniper rifle at the colenel "Now be a good boy and let the girl go." She smirked

The Colonel looked slowly over at the white wolf and just remained staring at her.  "I would advise you not to fire that anymore, unless you want to be impaled by an unseen enemy."  He looked down at Regul and pressed a fully loaded revolver to her head, in place of the rifle that the soldier once was in.  "On your feet, pestilence."  Regul wearily obeyed and rose to her feet, eyes shut from weeping and tears rolling down her face.  Radic then aimed another revolver at Krystal while staring at Regul.  "Although you may kill me, I still will fire a round into the hind of this one.  If you kill me, what alternative are you solving?  What use is killing me a 'good' thing for this war?  Do you honestly believe it will be over if you enslave our scholar and execute him as well?  No...  No, it will never end."  Radic informed, looking at the white wolf and then to Krystal, until finally staring down at Regul.  "What use is keeping one that has betrayed all of you amongst your own if you know full well that they will do it again...!?" 

"Because...  Having trust is more than having a pawn as your own...!"  Regul spoke up, causing Radic to shove the revolver into her head.

"Your inquorery is NOT needed for this situation.  Keep that reluctant muzzle of yours shut unless you want to endure H*** eternal...!"  Radic repulsed back, glaring down at Regul through his mask.  "Either way...  You're going to die...  Even if I am managed to be struck down by the unwilling bouts of these two young vixens, your inevitable death will soon be upon you."

Krystal growled  Diving back into the colenels mind she hope she could paralyz him before he could get a shot off.

Radic clenched his fists from Krystal trying to enter his mind, thus causing the revolver to go off and sending Regul slamming into the sand face first.  The unit only watched as they saw what looked like Regul's grim execution.  "Ugh... Lik...  Like I said..."  Radic panted out and shot his head up to the white wolf, "SHE DIESSSS!!!!!!!!!!"

Radic clenched his fists from Krystal trying to enter his mind, thus causing the revolver to go off and sending Regul slamming into the sand face first.  The unit only watched as they saw what looked like Regul's grim execution.  "Ugh... Lik...  Like I said..."  Radic panted out and shot his head up to the white wolf, "SHE DIESSSS!!!!!!!!!!"

"N OW YOU DIE" Tala grow shootin radic in the head with the sniper she ran up to Regul "REgual.. she sobbed

Krystal left the dead mind of Radic and looked down falling to the ground  from being tired and for regul.

Regul's hand twitched a little on the sand and she groaned slightly under her breath.  She soon began to extremely slowly move her hand to her to head.

"REGUL!" TAla almost scremed"Are you alright?"
