Starzone: Liberation

Todd noticed a security camera at the end of the hall.  He motioned for the others to stop, and when they did, he sneaked ahead of them, keeping out of view of the camera, then he turned the camera around to face the wall.  He then walked over to the surveillance camera systems sever, and used the butt of his rifle to smash the lock off of the control panel cover, and then he opened it, and pulled out some wires, disabling the surveillance cameras.

"Let's roll." he said, and the others continued with him.

"Great!"  Para said, raising a thumb to Todd and looked to Krystal.  "You heard the guy:  Let's go."  He then went aid Lupe into standing up.  "Just tell me while we're making our way to the entrance."

Marcus soon was running in a full sprint -- his silver hair flailing in the direction of the wind passing him -- and he slid into cover.  Catching his breath, he peered slightly over the top to see four Hellfurion troops on patrol.  He kept his distance as he ducked back down and slowly pressed himself against the side of the barrier.  Coming to an opening, Marcus peered over the side to make sure the troops were not looking in his direction and he lunged for the other piece of cover across from him.  He rolled and got to his feet, but remained ducked as he watched the troops. 

"Hey, WHO'S THERE?!?!"  A patrol said as he saw Marcus lung for cover.  "COME OUT, NOW!!!!"

Marcus cursed under his breath and rose up swiftfully, then everything seemed to slow down as he rose his rifle to them and several rounds flew out; landing into the troop's chest and sending him crashing to the ground.  No sooner than Marcus opened fire, the other patrols released their rounds and an all out firefight started.

"GET MORE MEN DOWN HERE!!!  AND BRING AMMO AS WELL!!!"

As the group continued, Para stopped suddenly -- the sounds of gunfire above ground echoed throughout the halls.  Para only breathed heavily as he looked quickly to the others, "Marcus has started without us!  We HAVE to move -- NOW!!!"  With that said, Para started sprinting down the halls for an alternate entrance.

[Kursed]

" Set loose the hornets nest."Krystal muttered as she took off after Para  Tala and LUpe soon following behind her.

Todd brought up the rear, holding his rifle high as he carefully followed his teammates.

Para nodded as he sprinted, but was never winded any since he was use to this sort of thing.  He abruptly stopped next to a wall and raised a fist to indicate the group to halt.  He peered around the corner, believing his ears heard talking, and saw a Helghast and Hellfurion troop engaged in a heated conversation about which of their tech was better.  Para raised his hand with his index and bird finger together and held it out to the side for someone to cover him as he walked to the two troopers.

"Alright -- stay here.  I'm going to see what these bafoons are up to..."  he whispered as he stood up and walked casually to the two.  "HEY!!!"

The two troops shot their heads over in Para's direction and immediately rose their rifles to him -- Para slowly rose his hands to the air.  "What are you doing here?!?!  This place is restricted by any and all citizen--  Hey, what's that on your back?"  The Helghast troop ordered and saw Para's rifle budd.  Para glanced briefly to the budd and back to the trooper.

"Just a rifle," Para explained casually, "For protection, of course."

"Protection, huh?  What for?!?"  The Hellfurion troop asked.

"You're one to talk about 'protection'.  How do you suppose this planet is going to win this war against the ISA when your equipment is not even pushing them back?!!"  The Helghast snapped back, lowering his rifle and looking to the Hellfurion troop.

"Ah, SHUTUP, YOU DIP****!!!  No one ASKED for your input on the matter!!!  Its a WONDER that human soldiers ARE NOT trusted around OUR PARTS!!!"  The Hellfurion troop retorted, lowering his rifle and turning fully to his Helghast adversary.

"'HUMANS'?  I am NOT a HUMAN, you ANTHROMORPHIC BASKETCASE!!!  IF I WERE human, then I WOULDN'T be STANDING here speaking to you I DIDN'T HAVE ANY COMMON SENSE!!!"

Para went to say something, but was cut off by the troops' bickering.  Para soon fired his rifle to the ceiling -- the troops stopped talking and looked over to Para.  "Don't you idiots have anything productive to be arguing over besides who's better and who's inferrior?"  The Hellfurion rose his gun to Para and snarled.

"WE'LL SEE WHO HAS ANYTHING PRODUCTIVE TO SAY WHEN I--"

Para was upon the soldier with his dual energy sabers on and one to the soldiers throat.  "Let's not do anything rash, shall we?"  The Hellfurion troop was instantly sweating inside his helmet as his gaze was upon the energy saber aimed at his throat.  Para looked to the Helghast troop and pointed his other saber to him, "That also goes for you.  Now, where is the entrance into the tower from here?  Hmm?!?!" 

"D-d-down that hall--"  The Hellfurion troop pointed down the hall behind him, "A-and th-th-through the l-latch around the c-cor... c-c-c-corner!!"  Para deactivated his rifle and motioned to the group behind cover at the other end of the tunnel.  He then looked to the two troopers.

"See?  Was that so difficult to agree on something?"  Para disrespectfully huffed as he walked on and soon into a jogg.

The fighting ensued for minutes until a flash grenade exploded near Marcus, blinding him instantly and causing him to through his rifle to the side -- covering his eyes and yelling in pain.  Instanly, four Hellfurion troops were on to Marcus and had him at gunpoint.  Yelling of commands for him to have his hands up and surrender, but all Marcus could do was submit to them.  As his hands were raised, his head met the budd of a Hellfurion trooper that strucked it so hard it knocked Marcus unconscious.  Looking at the other men, a second luitenent motioned to the four, "Load him into the our armored transports!!!  The emperor has something 'special' in store for this experiment of a soldier..." 

The troops obeyed as commanded and dragged Marcus by the arms and threw him into the back of an armored truck.  The truck rumbled to life and the exhaust pipe on top blew a steady stream of smoke as his slowly advanced down the runway and the gate on the other end slowly opening up for the truck to go through.  It did as the gates opened, and they soon shut behind it.

KRystal<Tala  and lupe soon appeared behind para with their own Sabers krystal with her Psionic sword  "Anybody moves and they lose a limb or maybe a head."KRystal growled as she followed Para.

The troops instantly dropped their rifles and quickly nodded -- raising their hands in defeat.  "Y-y-you got it!!!"

The truck soon stopped at a camp and troops dragged Marcus out and disappeared into a huge tent with guards all around them.  Redefined soldiers for the Hellfurion army marched out and jogged to where ever their posts would have been ordered to go.

"PAra do you know what happened to Marcus?"Krystal whispered so lupe wouldn't hear.

"No idea."  Para replied quietly back and threw his rifle around behind his back, then began climbing up the ladder.

Todd followed Para up the ladder.

Krystal was the last one up the ladder she whacthed all the guards before following Lupe up the ladder.

Para opened the latch but slowly poked his head out; rotating it to get a good look at the area around him.  He hopped out and held his hand out to the others coming up, but kept a finger vertically to his lips to indicate to the group to keep quiet while climbing up.

Krystal thanked Para silently beofore looking around makign sure no one was near.

Para motioned for the group to follow him as he swung his rifle around from his back, and jogged hunched over to cover.  "QUICKLY!  The Hellfurions may have taken Marcus prisoner."  He quietly said to the group then looked around.  "There should have been more to have taken Marcus out.  If there were just a hand full then that means....  Dear god...!"  Para looked at his rifle then bared his teeth, gripping the rifle furiously at the thought.  "By Corneria, these guys are asking for it!!!"

As the new Hellfurion troops were marching out of their camps, Marcus remained unconscious strapped tightly in a chair having goggles over his eyes and a helmet over his head.  As he slowly regained consciousness, a video of Hellfurion wars and all of their past conflicts, and affiliations, flashed quickly before him.  He strangled and thrashed in his chair, yelling at the top of his lungs as the pictures were implanting in his brain.  A doctor on the other side of the bullet proof window nodded to a soldier and he pulled a switch.  Marcus then sat quickly back in his chair, twitchingly struggling as blood stained down from his nose and slobber running down from the side of his mouth as it hung open, and his eyes growing wider as the images passed.  Soon, the screen went dim and then to black, and he hung his head as the screen shut off.

The doctor held his hand out in the direction of Marcus on the other side of the window and Scholar Razari's hologram walked in.  Standing in front of the head-hung Marcus, Razari held his hands behind his back as he stared down at him.  "Arise, General Maradic!!!"  Once Razari gave the command, Marcus shot his head up and the straps delatched from him, making him stand to his feet.  Soon, Hellfurion uniforms were on the table next to Razari and he motioned to Marcus to put them on.  "Welcome, my son, to the Union of Hellfure.  You are to lead your men with distinguished honor, piercing determination, and fierce loyalty for the emporer!  DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!?!"

Marcus, now Maradic, saluted Razari instantly, "Sir, yes, sir, my emporer!"  He soon was clad in Hellfurion clothing and was led out with a Hellfurion assault rifle in his hands, pistol holstered on his right clothed leg, knife on his left shoulder, and grenades around his belt with a general's badge on his right chest cavity.  Afterwards, Maradic was stationed among the other remained armymen at the tower's entrance, but was led up the elevator to Scholar Razari's throne room.  The elevator stopped, slowly opening it's doors, and he marched through.  He then pushed the throne room's massive doors open and walked in, saluting as he stopped on the bottom level.  "Reporting as ordered, my emporer!"

Scholar Razari slowly rose from his chair and stepped to the rails, staring down neutrally to Maradic.  "So, it seems you abandoned your men willingly to finish the war yourself."  He let go of the rails and placed his hands behind his back, "It's a shame you failed so easily.  But, I will make you STRONG!"  He began walking slowly down the stairs while motioning with his hands as he spoke:  "Your honor will be firm; your will to fight will be impenetrible; your attitude unrestraintable; above all," He stopped in front of Maradic and stood firmly to him.  "You will serve me with UNDYING devotion to protect this nation even under it's final hours!"

Maradic nodded quickly to Razari, "I shall do so, my emporer!"  Razari nodded, pleased by Maradic's devotion and nodded to the door.

"Wait by the door -- they will be coming soon."  Maradic quickly marched towards the door and held his rifle to the air as he waited like a statue.

[Kursed]

Krystal's eyes dialated as she got the picture. "Dear God what are they doing here."Krystal growled. "Are all the hellfurions just slaves to thier brainwashing?"Krystal asked quietly as the group continued.

"Yeah...I'm afraid so...after all, you saw what those pricks did to me." Todd whispered bitterly.

Para shook his head in disbelief, "By God, this is inhumane....  We HAVE to exterminate these guys:  Wipe them out from the face of the universe!"  Para soon was near the gate leading towards the tower two miles away, and all of a sudden, then gates opened up slowly -- moaning as they slid to the sides. 

The environment the group was on was so quiet that you could hear each piece of metal moan and rattle in the wind.  Off in the distance, a laser designator was waving back and forth and was soon advancing onto the group.  Para, seeing the laser coming closer, dove behind a concrete blockade and waited.

[Kursed]

"nice to have you drop in."Krystal muttered  She Lupe and Tala had already taken cover behind the same concreate block.

Todd had taken cover in a wall niche, crouching so as not to be seen.

Para turned to the three girls behind him, "Ok, I need one of you to take that guy out no matter if you are good at sniping, or not."  He then lunged to another concrete barrier and peeked around the corner.  He turned back to Todd and motioned with his hands that there were four guards, two snipers, and three supply trucks.

[Kursed]

Tala  poked up and attempted to snipe  the troops Lupe fired her assault rifle at them , krystal on the other hand prepared her psionic sword.

Todd saw Para's signal, nodded, and aimed his rifle, preparing to open fire.

Para shot his head over to Lupe firing and opened fire as well.  Not what I had in mind, he thought to himself, But it will work for now...!

The guards stationed on the other end of the passage hear the rifles firing, bullets whizzing by, and started shouting to one another to return fire.  The bullets were returning back to the group on the opposite end as the Hellfurions stationed themselves on machine gun turrets and mortars.  The machine guns rattled with rounds flying out every second and knocking chips of the concrete barriers off; mortars exploded rounds out and whistled in the air before exploding around the group's location.  Right after the weapons started firing, alarms started blaring in the distance and troops started assembling over the horizon towards the tower.

The snipers lined their shots up and fired, but their rounds chiped medium sized above the barriers.  Their scopes would occasionally flashing while they adjusted their sights on the group.

The mortarmen loaded their mortars once their cannons were unloaded and held their helmets from the explosive sound that kicked up dust around them once the mortar launched.

Todd provided covering fire.

Using the hellfurion's shimmering sights Tala started to pic off the snipers.

lupe kept fireing befor she tossed a grenade she had stolen from one of the heeffurion troops.

Krystal started to plan out her attack psionic sword in her hand behind her bac as she drew in the sand with her finger.
