Good News, Everyone!

Just pre-ordered Bloodborne Collector's Edition and ordered a PS4 from Amazon as they're having a deal right now where, for the same price as normal, you also get Infamous: Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and The Last of Us Remastered digital copies. I needed a PS4 anyways and three for the price of none was a great deal.

I watched Chappie today. It's a movie from the guy that made District 9 and Elysium. I don't want to spoil much, but Chappie is nothing short of amazing.

I joined a group on DeviantArt, and submitted my first drawings!

Now I'll get slammed with everything from "OH WOW SO CUTE! *hugs*" to "YOU CAN'T DRAW FOR A FRESH PIECE OF TURD!".

I'm FINALLY learning to play the piano!

Cool! You will not believe how badly I want to learn to play an ocarina or something like that. Guess I should keep dreaming...

So next Thursday, I'm heading out to Germany for my school exchange... I just can't wait. :P

No matter how pervasive or accepted this is as a practice, it still gets on my nerves. I just dropped $400 to play some vidya, let me play my goddamn vidya.

The update was actually fast, installing the games is what took time, also it should be expected since I bought the device late. Also believe I could have skipped it if I so desired.

That always surprises me, but then it's definitely dependent on download speed. I get ~0.5MB/s down, so day-one updates are pretty frustrating. What's the size of a system update nowadays anyways?

Also, I guess I should post some actual good news; I'm flying out to visit Washington DC over spring break. Not a traditional spring breaker destination, but it'll be really sweet to see all the historical shit.

Today I went to the Cleveland Auto Show. There were a lot of awesome cars on display, including Aston Martins, Camaro ZL1s,and custom Jeep trucks. We also got lots of free tote bags, which we use when we shop at Aldi's.

Ten more hours to Bloodborne.

I believe my body is ready but deep down I know it is not, and I shall embrace the pain for it shall mold me into a being of unimaginable strength.

Just got back from a trip to Washington DC. Spent 5 days there lobbying and doing tons of touristy stuff. Got to see many of the Smithsonian museums. Out of those that I saw, I was actually the most blown away by the National Gallery of Art. Got to stand only a couple of feet away from incredibly historic works of art (one of Van Gogh's self portraits, a Da Vinci piece, Rodin's Thinker). I probably spent a good 3-4 hours just browsing the halls there.

Also got to see some parts of the capitol not frequently seen by lobbyists, including the tunnels running beneath the capitol between the senate and house offices, as well as the Senate Reception Room, where we sat maybe ten feet away from Marco Rubio. Our group also managed to get passes to view both the Senate and House galleries (not in full session, but in use). Overall it was a fantastic experience. I hope to be able to afford to go again someday.

Car was broken.

Decided to learn how to fix car.

Learn from friends and auto shops over the course of a week.

I am now an unlicensed mechanic.

Feels good.

This book is a good expansion point for beginners.  It explains the "theory" behind each separate system and their interactions with one another rather well - I'm not entirely sure where your skill level falls in terms of just what you repaired/learned, but those that are familiar with the basics already can learn from it.  You'll want the previous edition if you need basic carburetor information though.

I got a chance to visit the 2015 NYC International Auto Show this past weekend.  I'll probably start a thread and dump photos everywhere in a few.

I've also finally reached 8,900 posts.  Only one hundred one more to go before the obvious joke can be made.
