Philadelphia Police Officer Jesse Hartnett survived an execution attempt today.  He was shot three times and managed to give chase, return fire, and wound his attacker, whom was apprehended shortly thereafter.

Got my wisdom teeth out, the lowers (had uppers out a bit ago). Got to have fun with nitrous oxide, which was interesting.

Good luck on the recovery.  I had all four pulled at once - I don't think I've ever appreciated eating solid food as much as I did on day three post-surgery.

I also had all 4 done at once, and I was one of the unlucky bastards who ended up getting an infection. Only time in my life I had ever been on opioids (Codeine and an antibiotic), not something I want to experience again. And to think people WANT that feeling they give you... Sheesh...

Today I ate food that wasn't mashed potatoes/mac & cheese/pudding.

I had an omelette with some french fries and toast.

I missed real food.

I saw them a few years ago in Seattle. They're a great show! Hopefully they did some covers; their Danger Zone cover was definitely one of the highlights of the night.

I think it'll be safe for me to post now that I'm finally going to return to work on Monday.  Means I may not be on during Tuesdays and some Wednesdays though. (After work social activities I've been itching to get back into.)

My old keyboard kinda kaputt'd on me so I bought a Logitech G710 mechanical keyboard because it has the stuff I want on it (alternate on-keyboard controls for various things, light up keyboard, has optional G-keys for game keybindings which is nice) and it wasn't overly expensive because of a lot of superfluous bullshit (don't need a keyboard with rainbow LEDs that have  twenty damned patterns for hundreds of dollars), it's mechanical, and my mouse/headset are both Logitech as well so I have the software for messing with it already installed and in use for them.

Now I just gotta get use to a mechanical keyboard and the slightly different button layout and hand rest position.

Nice!  I've always heard good things about mechanical keyboards (usually from threads around here, ha) and that Logitech looks lovely.  I recently replaced my old $20 Logitech keyboard/mouse combo with a $30 set from Cooler Master that has imitation mechanical keys.  It actually feels pretty good for the price.

I have a G710+. I absolutely love the thing, owned it for about a year now and it still looks brand new. I'll never be able to go back to using a keyboard without a volume wheel too.

The Devastator combo is supposed to be awesome, great choice. I've heard the imitation mechanical feel weird but are much better than rubber domes and you just straight up can't beat the price.

I bought myself a brand new 41.5" 4K TV for AU$299 (about US$216). Its a very basic TV but I really only want it for games and watching tv every now and again so I'm not worried, and $299 for a 4K TV is a bloody steal (a bit more once delivery and extended warranty are added). Just have to wait for it to be shipped on June 14.

So turns out my older version of all of H.P. Lovecraft's fiction work was a pretty shoddy edition so I picked up the revised version that isn't shoddy and there was a buy one get one 50% off on select titles and also got a copy of Stephen Hawking's The Illustrated A Brief History Of Time And The Universe In A Nutshell and while I was at the story picked up some of Terry Prachett's Death novels of the Discworld series. If you are unfamiliar, this is apparently a scene from the one titled The Hogfather where Death becomes basically Santa and starts granting kid's wishes... with a very literal mindset, apparently.

Got one of these and picked it up a couple days ago:

Not a photo of mine but may as well be, still need to take it to the range. Was so happy when I heard these things got made and surprisingly inexpensive, given what they are.
