Kit-Karamak
Okay, for the sake of fanfiction and art... How would you classified half bird and half cat? For a while I called the combination a fe'lavian. But then I realized... a bird and a cat - that's a gryphon. MOST gryphon art is a lion and an eagle. But I've seen some as hawks. I've seen different colors. I've seen one done with tiger stripes and cheeta spots... SO... for the sake of the greater-voice opinion and acceptance... would you technically call the child of Falco and Katt a GRYPHON?
Asper Sarnoff
Hmm, no I wouldn't. While a gryphon is technically a cat/avian hybrid, I doubt a word so loaded with the aura of D&D, fantasy and magic would fit into the SF universe.I'd simply call any crossbreeds in the SF universe for "(Insert species here)/(Insert other species here) hybrid". Star Fox Runner
You know, I always have wondered what Katt and Falco's kids would look like, but it seems like a gryphon would be the most plausible. But it depends on the dominant trait. A gryphon has a bird head and a cat body. What if the traits came out differently and it has a cat head with an avian body. Or a full cat with feathers, or a full bird with just fur. Or a cat head with a beak. But if your looking for a concrete design, I would say go with the gryphon, but don't classify the kid as a gryphon, just say he/she has similarities to a gryphon. Falco isn't an eagle, Katt isn't a lion, and neither are part dragon. While the original gryphon was part lion and eagle, there have been other variations for a long, long time now, and they're still called gryphons as far as I know. Lions, tigers, panthers, hawks, falcons and eagles etc. etc.I don't know where you got the dragon bit from. I've been obsessed with fantasy creatures and mythology since I was a little kid, and I've yet to hear gryphons have anything in common with dragons. In fact, they were supposed to be archenemies, which often clashed in fights to the death for one, or both creatures.

Kursed
Oh, you mean like a fan character, right?yes she was created from Ruby' and krystal's Dna to create the Ultimate Telepath ,but it failed as the Telepathic Genes basicly didn't double up but combined so she's no more powerful than either of them. Also, I don't think he means a REAL hybrid, I mean he has a character hybrid, since I was talking about a character in this thread. The thing is, just because Gryphons are drawn a certain way going back to arts and sketching / etchings that are found in ancient history... it doesn't mean that it's still some sort of combination of a feline and an avian. My character has the wings on her back, sprouting from her shoulder blades. She has feathers with the tail and face (and claws/paws) of a feline. Since I wrote about her before SF: COMMAND came out, i named her "Violet" becaues Katt was pink, and Falco was blue, heh. But in my latest story, Reflections of Regret, Krystal meets a Gryphon on a world near Kew. He tells her that she could find spiritual healing if she were to visit the Krazoa and basically says, "Been there, done that... and they're extinct, for the lose." Of course, she's in character so that wasn't verbatim lol ...anyhow, I got to thinking. Wouldn't Falco and Katt's kid TECHNICALLY be gryphon-esque? LOL. Shoot, at the very least, I can make it Violet's middle name. xDDDD

Kit-Karamak
huh. A mutated bird that is half cat. *shudders at thought.*Actually she's Marcus' ex-girlfriend in my story. And I write that she's insanely attractive. She has feathery wings on her back (angel-esque) and a feline face with feathers mixed in with her hair tastefully (think 80's) and a mix of violet fur. Asper would know who she is. xD They date each other later on. HAHAHA.

CR4CK3RW0LF
of course when you truly boil it down, hybrids like this are almost scientifically impossible, but thats just my opinion but for the sake of fantasy, lets play around with it shall we? in the lowest sense of the word, i guess she could be considered a gryphon, i assume she is bipedial....A true gryphon has the body of a lion, the head of an eagle, and the wings of a dragon. Falco isn't an eagle, Katt isn't a lion, and neither are part dragon.i can pretty much agree with this statement, but i can also agree that fantasy doesnt exactly stay true to this definition.i like the idea of it just being part of her name and not actually part of her bio... it adds flavor to the character name.and what ever happened to that one blue kitteh from the adventures manga "farewell beloved falco"? i dont see much of him or their little ragtag team anywhere, i might have them make a cameo in my fanfic they arent very interesting as far as characters go, but i kinda liked the alligator dude, despite that he barely says anything in the whole manga... man if i could draw a comic about starfox.. thats how i would draw it... *envious of artist talent*
