You mean the bookmark bar below the URL box? SF:O has always had a blank icon there.

Wow, i thought that we had one, but we don't. Guess it got overlooked.

If any pixel artists out there want to make one, go ahead. Favicons are 16x16 pixel files and must be named favicon.ico. Supposedly IE can't read them if they aren't true ICO files, but IE8 seems to read my favicon for Corneria Sound, which is a PNG file named favicon.ico. I hate the ICO format. Very very few programs support it. Even Photoshop doesn't support them out of the box (though it does with plugin).

Microsoft is such a pain in the ass.

If there are no takers, I'll probably just shrink the flying fox SF logo.

I made a simple one, but it would get the point across.

Mockup + image as .png + image as .ico (remove .txt extension)

[Pruned to save disk space]

Nice work Nysut.

I'd also like to see how the SF logo would look when shrinked this small, if anyone is up to the challenge.

Nice job, I like it :)

OK, that favicon is up on everything except the forums. SMF doesn't support them without a mod, and the default method (drop favicon.ico in the root of the site) doesn't work for it.

I do not think it is worth installing a mod for.

It was cool before

Yeah, and I still don't see it. Maybe if I clear my bookmarks and re-bookmark them...

The favicon works. If you can't see it, then you need to clear your cache (Dreamhost automatically dumps a 0-length favicon.ico file in the root of each domain hosted with them, so you may be retaining that old file).

If you don't know how to do that, consult your browser documentation.

If you're using IE6, upgrade. This browser is old, IE is up to 8 now. You should be using Firefox, Opera, Chrome, or Safari anyway.

I will no longer consider issues on IE 6 to be SFO problems (I don't speak for Mr. K. If he wants to support IE6, then he can. But I won't support IE6.). Google is also dumping IE6, so if you like YouTube you best upgrade to something else.
