I wish I had someone to play Assault's MP with lol, but here in SoCal, most people need the newest thing to have fun, they don't understand you can't beat a classic.

I love Assault's multi-player.  I never get tired of it.

It would be cool if they make the next SF title with online mutliplayer, wouldn't be able to get me off of it :)

Soooo....I'm sorta busy at the moment, so instead of putting some half-assed summary with #7, I'll go ahead and so something I've been planning to do since the start of this list.

I PRESENT TO YOU, THE HONORABLE MENTIONS

We can't all be in the Hall of Fame. We can't all be at the top of our class. But does that make us horrible people? No! Same goes for these games. They didn't make the list, but they're all good in their own ways and worth playing.

NBA Street

Release Date: 2002

Overall Score: 8.2

So who cares if you like basketball or not? There's some fun to be had in NBA Street either way. You can perform crazy dunks, do sick crossovers or just hang around under the basket and block everything that comes your way in 3 on 3 matches.

Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom

Release Date: 2003

Overall Score: 7.6

I have a Spongebob game here, what's the problem? It's the best game based off a TV show that I've ever played. And no, it's not so bad it's good, it's so good it's even better...if that makes sense. The essence of the show is captured perfectly here, and the platforming is goofy and funny, just like the cartoon. It's definitely on the easy side, and lacks any replay value whatsoever, but still. GC are only like 15 bucks now, why not give this a try?

Mario Kart: Double Dash

Release Date: 2004

Overall Score: 8.0

Did you like Mario Kart 64? Then you'll love Double Dash! Better graphics, a blast with friends and you have two people riding. AND...you can choose your own karts. Those are the ingredients for a great time right there.

I say it was sort of a tie. What they should do is have a Mario Kart Wii: Double Dash

SONIC ADVENTURE 2: BATTLE

Sonic_adventure_2.jpg

Release Date: 2002

Overall Score: 9.0

I was hesitant to put this one on the list, I was trying to include only 1 game from each series but some of these games are hard to leave out. SA2 was another excellent Dreamcast title, but the Gamecube port was met with critcism. Most of the complaints were that it didn't really improve upon the original at all, it ran slower, and that the SA series was starting to look older thanks to new consoles and better quality platformers coming out. At least, thats what "they" say. And if you haven't noticed already, I really don't like "them". To be honest, I don't think it's fair to attack a re-release of a  game when just months earlier those same critics were hailing it as a classic. How obsolete could it have gotten in that short span?

Enough about the mainstream critics. It was tough deciding whether this or its predeccsor deserved to be higher. Ultimately, I had to go with this sequel because it offers more: more characters, more intruiging plotlines, more replay value.

I think Shadow is easliy the coolest character in this game, sorry Sonic. His story is exciting, sad, and pretty deep for a game like this. It's too bad things aren't really explored in detail until Shadow the Hedgehog (2005), but whats shown here isn't bad either. By the way, did you know Rouge wasn't included in Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics because she was too sexy? Enough said.

If your a speed junkie, you'll be happy to find there's still some fast-paced action here, but to a lesser extent. Shocking! And it's really too bad, since Sonic and Shadow's levels are the best in the game. But Eggman and Tails will keep you busy, as you play as them in their walkers and blast your way through levels with missiles and torpedoes. You can find upgrades for all the characters: for instance, Sonic can get a nifty ring dash, Tails can get upgraded weapons to blow up steel crates, etc. You'll definitely be going back for more, no matter who you play as.

Looking back at some of the other titles on this list, you'll see how I mentioned that the emerald hunting levels are more frustrating here than they were in SA1. No. Kidding. It doesn't seem so hard at first, just run around and then start looking when your radar goes crazy. But no, your radar will go off when your treasure is behind a wall on the other side of the level, or right under your nose in a very hard to see section. If your lucky, you'll find everything you're looking for right away and get back to the real fun. But there's a good chance you'll spend half an hour or more just desperately searching for that elusive piece of the master emerald....

The replay value here is incredible. You have an addicting single player story mode, and then you have multi-player mode. You can shoot each other up using walkers, race as Sonic, Shadow and even Amy and Metal Sonic through levels from the main game, and the emerald hunt, which is surprisingly more fun with a friend than doing it by yourself.

I haven't even mentioned the chao garden. Here, you raise small, strange, yet adorable blue creatures. Theres sooo much to do here, at first it might seem boring, but once you get into it you'll be able to enter your chao in karate contests and evolve them into a mighty Chaos chao. So sue me, I spent more time on this than anything else for a good long while.

A lot of the problems that plagued SA1 are still here, from the annoying camera to the occasionally frustrating gameplay elements, but it's undeniaby fun, has a lot of replay value, and I highly reccommend it to anyone who has a GC.

OVERALL: This is an absolute must have and one of the best games in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Well, I had a nice post typed up, but I deleted it by accident. So of course I'm not in a very good mood right and I feel like breaking something. I'll continue the list once I feel like doing # 5 and # 6 over again, I know exactly what I'm going to say about them lol
