Dumbest game plots

I got one:

The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening.  xP

I hated that game.

The gameplay of Legend of Zelda games are great, it's just sometimes the storyline or in this case, the ending.

it was ALL a dream XD!!!

shows very weak story structure nowadays, not to mention i never got past that 7th temple, the bird one.. frustrated, i gave up. no longer have the game and im too lazy to play it all over again on an emulator.. either way i found out what happened on youtube, not to mention if you think about it, it was kind of predictable...

My favorite was Wind Waker (backed up by Ocarina of time, of course)

Then Twilight Princess. I never really played the old Zelda's, but I did beat the one on the Game Boy (the one where hes on a ship thing and crashes on some island/the one with the chain chomp)

Of course! Don't you know that people become little angels as soon as you take away their evil guns? LOL, what's worse than the plot of the game is the fact that some people actually believe that the world works that way.

Day of the Tentacle has one of the most stupidly awesome plots:

A genetically engineered tentacle was walking behind the secret lab in a motel one day and took a sip of the toxic sludge coming from the sludge-o-matic machine (because he was thirsty). The sludge gave him super-intelligence and the desire to take over the world. Meanwhile, Bernard and his roommates receive a letter from the other (nice) tentacle who explains that the purple tentacle (the evil one) wants to take over the world and that the mad scientist Dr. Fred will kill them both to stop the world domination. Bernard races to the motel and frees the tentacles, forgetting that one of them was evil. The nice tentacle (green) decides to try to catch up with purple tentacle and "talk him out of it." Dr. Fred discovers Bernard and explains that his plans have been ruined, now the only way to stop the tentacle is to turn off the sludge-o-matic... yesterday "TO THE TIME MACHINE!" Bernard and his roommates get in the time traveling outhouses (Chron-o-Johns) and they prepare to depart. Unfortunately, Dr. Fred uses a fake diamond in the machine, causing the travel to stop early. Bernard is sent to the present, but one of his friends ends up in the far future, the other in the far past. Together, they have to work together by flushing items through time to each other to return to the present and stop purple tentacle once and for all.

That's class.

I wondered about that even as a kid. He also sends his army to stop them getting them back. Weird.

I'm playing through Supreme Commander 2, that has a good story so far. I'm also playing Bioshock and I've just one of the best game plot twists. I won't spoil it, but it's really well done. Second Sight had a good twist too. What I loved about it was I put the peices together seconds before the main character. That's good story telling right there.

The sims 2 DS has a really weird one. Your car breaks down in the desert, only to find you have been left in charge of a hotel in the sticks, that is being invaded by aliens who can be taken down by water.

I also played some GBA games. In megaman battle network. Didn't get far, but it starts off with you fighting computer viruses in a microwave, before you go to ACDC town, where there are vending machines of 'Awesome Juice' and you a big fight in a stereo.

Then there's action man, where to storm an X shaped island with the base in the middle, you each land on opposate ends of the X, fight your way to the centre, you 2 team mates get captured somehow, then you kill a T-Rex by punching it in the face.

Halo is, if you break down, ripped off of every sci fi game ever, but much like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, the exicution is where it's at. The plot of Halo 2 where you jump into the shoes of a relegious zellot in a series where, at the time, people just wanted to play master chief, took some balls. I wasn't a fan of the flip flop nature, but overall the plots are good.

GTAs story telling changed dramaticly in 4. Where most of them had you as a small time crook working up the criminal ladder, 4 had some great story telling in it. Unfortunatly the game was rubbish so I never finished it, as I only want to see the lost and damned story, and to see if Niko finally wins.

GTA doesn't have you as a hired gun. Your just a guy whos moved to the US to live out the american dream. It turns out his cousin was talking BS, and that he is in fact a cabbie living in a dump. There's also a more personal reason for him being there. Despite his best efforts, bad stuff just seems to happen.

There are alot of "unconon" Zelda games but still semi apply to the story itself. Like Majoras Mask. Uncanon to the "Hero of Time" storyline, but was really great. Also Phantom Hourglass. I never played it, but I heard it was kinda good. Also also heard Spirit Tracks was excellent. Before you start saying,"OMG NO IT SUCKS UR A TRAINNN" play before you speak. :D

@MarkieSKII, havent gotten to play spirit tracks, but i kinda got stuck in the phanom hourglass, and naturally i lost intrest... LOL, but i digress, it was fun in its own right.

@x-gamer, which is not nessesarily a bad thing, I LOVED the idea of wolf link instead of you turning into a rabbit, while the whole idea of link being pure like a rabbit makes sense... BADASS LIKE A WOLF IS SO MUCH BETTER!

I'm not going to play the second one. The first one was so complete, there's no way it will be as good. If they really spun the concept around, maybe. But the idea of 10 years later and it's still not sank completly. Bollocks.

The game Haze from the beginning was too redundant because the elite group you're in consisted of two smart guys, you and the leader, and two retarded cronnies with you.  You leave and join the rebel group you were trying to fight off, and soon you're killing your former squadmates from the elite organization you were from.  Ironically, they're a lot more easier to kill than the rebels. 

In other words, sounds a little to farfetched and similar to latter games that were previously made; story is too original

@para astaroth, did you mean Cliche? it definately sound's a bit like a tired plot to have... avatar did it too, which really kind of took away the enjoyment for me... honestly avatar, in NO WAY is that Colonel/captain/general dude a human being, hes so over the top about killing everything is WAY too inhuman.. it really stereotypes the armed forces.. annoyed the shit out of me, but he had a likeable charm, kind of like Steven Sagal.. horrible filmography but dammit hes so over the top! has anyone ever seen The Spirit? it was a comic book movie that didnt exactly have a good plot either, but Samuel Jackson MADE that movie! he played a villan called the octopus, he has 8 of everything, he was so funny and comical with every line he had that it made it enjoyable XD

anyways im chasing my own tail  A.D.D tends to do that to you... but yeah, i hate it when the overall plot is unoriginal... but avatar at least had the vision to explore... all the creatures, the way eveything interacts with one another.. really peaked my imagination XD. that is till the plot showed up and ruined everything....
