The Burger King mascot just has that "rape" face, though.

Jack In The Box used to suck, but they've improved a little bit...

Their milkshakes are still crappy, though, it's like drinking cement.

Fuddrucker's is AWFUL, particularly the ones that used to be near where I live.  I'm glad they're gone from the nearby neighborhoods next to my neighborhood.  We oughtta call Fuddruckers, "Muddf*ckers"! :P

Popeye's Chicken is the best fried chicken...they use real Louisiana tactics for frying, they use real lard, even...that's rare out here in Cali...it's not healthy for you, granted, but man is it tasty!

Taco Bueno > Taco Bell

Still not real Mexican food, but a lot closer.

BTW, one of the things Whataburger does to try to keep their quality up is allow stores to compete against eachother in the annual "Whatagames." The one I worked at was invited to form a team (which few franchise stores get to do, BTW. Most represented stores are corporate-owned), but we never did. Here's an article about it: http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/115/next-business-at-its-best.html

It's tough to do that. Whataburger isn't like most places where there is a warmer full of patties. Rulebook says everything except chicken, fried pies, and most breakfast items have to be cooked to order. It takes 5 minutes to cook a burger, and you can only hold a cooked patty for five minutes on the "transfer zone," which is an elevated plate on the grill that keeps the warm, but stops them from cooking. A lot of people cheat and use the grill press (only supposed to be used on grilled chicken) on burger meat. The result is a dry burger. So, a good tip is to mention that you do not want pressed meat. If you get your order in less than 5 minutes, be suspicious.

It's best to go when they are not busy. Go during a rush and chances are high you'll get pressed meat.

Just got back from the city of angels, unfortunately I never actually ate at any of the places mentioned in this thread. Too bad, I was looking forward to playing "fast food critic"!

if you want real authentic mexican food you have to go to the family owned ones if there are any where you live.

Thanks DZ, I didn't know all that.  Also, is Taco Bell really called Taco Bueno in other parts of the US!?  Wow, I never knew that!
