Kalikimaka
EDIT: Guess my explanation was foggy, so here's an example of what I described in my original message: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IJZEIKEFSee what I mean? Mono and with lots of artifacts, but you can hear the music easier.
Mr. Foxer
I don't understand, you want the SFA music? SFO has the whole soundtrack which includes the briefings and all that.
Kalikimaka
I'm saying how ANYONE can take out the sound effects (strictly DIY, here). It's a low-quality sound, but you can hear the music better.
Asper Sarnoff
Am I correct when I assume you're talking about the music in the cutscenes, and not the soundtrack music? There where quite many times where the music in the cutscenes didn't appear on the official soundtrack. As far as I know, the cutscene music is mixed with the sound effects and dialogue, which means it's impossible to extract only the music files directly from the game code. Star Fox Runner
If you want cutscene music from either Adventures or Assault, you're out of luck. In both games, background audio in cutscenes is completely mixed together with the music, so it's not possible to get the music from them.If you want character dialogue, Mr. Krystal has managed to extract it from Adventures and has put it up on the main site. As for the dialogue from Assault, it is possible to retrieve the files from the disc, but Mr. Krystal and DZComposer have yet to find a proper way to do it, so we have to wait on that one. Kalikimaka
That so?I thought I was clear about the process, but you can't argue with results.
DZComposer
Can you put that up somewhere else? I live in a large apartment complex in a college town. The internet is nice and fast, but we're all behind the same IP, so being able to actually download something from megaupload or rapidshare is nigh on impossible. And some moron has also gotten us banned from editing Wikipedia. Ugh....That said, I'm not sure if the quality will be up to my standards. Using filters to remove lyrics or sounds from music rarely produces a good sounding result. There is often lots of distortion created by the process. That is why I haven't done it.Someday I will finish my SFAs Cutscene resequencing project. Not sure when, though. Basically it involves using my music creation equipment to recreate the songs from scratch.

That is why I haven't done it.It's not audiophile quality by any means, I don't think there's any way to achieve that. It's in mono, there's still plenty of sound effects, but the point is really just to hear MORE of the music that's normally drowned out.And anyway, I only used files from YOUR site as a source, DZ. Like I explained before when no one understood:1. Import audio from the FMV into Audacity2. Separate the stereo track into two mono tracks.3. Invert the right channel (this subtracts any sound that's played in both channels)4. Export as a .WAVThere's also some tools that are supposed to play with the frequency to "hide" vocals and sound effects, but I'm too dumb to work those.
