X-Gamer
I'm wondering, what if later on in the SF series, Nintendo made a game so you could play as the SW team? Anyone think that would be a good idea? I'm still thinking of what the plot would be. Would you approve of this game if it did get created? Guest Starguy24
I think it would be interesting to be able to play as Star Wolf. In particular it would be awesome if you could choose between playing as them and Starfox, like if they both had their own stories. As for a whole game where you only play as Starwolf...that would be neat, but I don't know how well it would go over with the fans. Some of them would probably rather see more adventures of Starfox and not a spinoff, especially considering the long gap between games....
SPEAKERnight.
I always wanted a game where you can play as them; seeing the story through their point of view. Kinda like Sonic Adventure where the characters had their stories but it was all a part of one big story.
SlyJedi
It would be cool if SW teamed up with SF like they did in Assault, and you get to play as them I enjoyed seeing them work together in Assault as well. If done right (like it was there) it can be a great plot point to use. :D
Asper Sarnoff
It would be interesting. But Nintendo defiantively need to get the franchise back on its feet again with a rocksolid, traditional game before they want to try their hands on a spin-off. MarekMcCloud
Shouldn't this be in the "Next StarFox" thread that was sticky somewhere? Beehh.Yea a "Sonic Adventure" style of StarFox would be awesome! But they would have to be rivals again right after.

Zicka
Sure, let's destroy the evil-rival image of Star Wolf and turn them into relateable main characters.

Asper Sarnoff
so you have something against likeing the enemie charaters?Zicka has something against everything it can seem after a quick look trough his previous postings. Every post I've seen from him reeks of the sour smell of dislike and contempt. I've several times caught myself wondering why he decide to stick around, as it seems he has no gain for staying whatsoever.

Kalikimaka
so you have something against likeing the enemie charaters?Yeah, they're unlikable jerks so the player will be MOTIVATED to shoot them down. Who's gonna shoot someone with a face?

Who's gonna shoot someone with a face? They're my favorite characters in the games. But that doesn't exactly stop me from shooting them down without mercy when encountering them. But that is perhaps just me having a heart of cold steel.
Thomas Draco
Yeah, I've thought about this before. I was thinking about a spinoff where you play from SW's point-of-view in 64, maybe even revealing a backstory for everybody on the team (minus Pigma, since he's already covered). You would fly for the Venomainans, attacking Cornerian outposts on different planets, and fighting SF multiple times.Plus, they would be the bad guys still, as they're attacking the good Cornerians and SF. DZComposer
Zicka has a point, actually.Turning them into good guys kind of destroys their characters. SFAs flirted with danger, but I think they managed to successfully pull-off the "enemy of my enemy is my ally" angle to it.When this was tried in SFC, it made a real mess of things. All of the sudden, after all they've done, they want to "clear their names" while destroying Star Fox at the same time? Doesn't make sense....Plus, I think this rivalry is healthy for the story. Kind of like Kirby and Meta Knight to a degree. Star Wolf doesn't have to be evil, but I think turning them into "the good guys" is a bit much. Thomas Draco
But you would ultimately end up losing Maybe make it an alternate ending to SF64 where the Venomainians win. But yeah, the game idea itself is still far fetched.

Asper Sarnoff
Well, playing as them doesn't mean they can't still be the enemies/rivals of the Starfox team. There are many, many games out there where you play as the baddies, and I often find them to be just as fun to play as the traditional noble hero characters, often more. But still, I stand for my previous statement that Nintendo needs to make a traditional SF game with outstanding quality before they can risk crashing the series for good with something like this. Guest Julius Quasar
I think you should compete against Star Wolf in missions, like shooting down an enemy. If Star Wolf shoots down the enemy mother ship before you do, you lose the mission and Star Wolf steals you pay as a result. But if you and your wing mates shoot down the enemy mother ship before Star Wolf can shoot it down, than you win the mission, and Star Wolf loses their money to you....just a thought....
